as it is, the music's still great.

  • What are those horn thingys that those guys are playing? Why isn't this auto tuned? Were are the naked ladies? Why do these guys have uuuuhhh what is it called again??? Talent????

  • @ebarnes863

Big up for the comment (:

Notice the low number under the video? There lies a part of your answer.

  • @ebarnes863 now days its sad what people think is good music

  • @ebarnes863 hate to break your heart, but the trumpet is actually taken from a herbie hancock tune called cantaloupe island...

  • @jonpowells If you listen to that original song, you'll see it's quite different from what they're playing here. They actually play it themselves, making it their own, unlike the "artists" of today who just sample music, no talent involved.

  • this is the only rap i listen to. so dope...

  • Can't stand how fricken cool this song is!!!! Funky Funky!!!!!! :) :)

  • timeless.

  • vevo sucks. they have left a whole minute of the song out. and a good minute too.

  • This track makes me so crazy happy I don't even know why! When it came out I heard it in a store and froze! I HAD TO KNOW WHAT IT WAS AND HAVE IT! To this day, it is one of the coolest, hippest, grooviest tracks I have ever heard produced. Reminds me a bit of Herbie Hancock if he was born 20 years later... he might have done something like this. Yellow Umbrellas on sped up 45.... frickin' awesome! This track Cantaloop is a Classic!

  • @SukaStyle This actually was a sample of Herbie Hancock's "Green Island"

  • @SukaStyle Oops! Sorry, "Cantaloupe Island"

  • This brings back so many memories

  • The early 1990s was a great time for jazz-influenced hip-hop: US3, A Tribe Called Quest, Digable Planets, et. al. Too bad it was so short-lived.

  • Awesome song!!!!!!!!!! Thumbs up!!!!!!!!!!

  • Di-gi-di-gi bop FUNKY FUNKY :)

  • sick song!!!

  • funky funky....

  • You guys realize this is good just cause it samples Cantaloupe Island, right? Try listening to "Herbie Hancock - Jazz Fusion Cantelope Island" here on youtube. Anyway I'm glad hip-hop listeners get to know some good music with this US3 song.

  • @TakashiMiike Yeah they did sample from that bigtime but Hancock had no words in that instrumental. They sped up the beat and put words to the instrumental. I remember Rick Dees pointing that out when it hit the charts almost 20 years ago now. So many songs sample that you still have to give US3 credit for their one and only hit. A top ten that sounded different than anything before or since then. A unique hit. And a top ten one hit wonder at that.

  • @TakashiMiike It's not good JUST because it samples Cantaloupe Island. Cantaloupe Island is great, no doubt about it, but you can't tell me that Cantaloop is only good because of the original track. The updated sound, the lyrics, the video...it turned a great jazz tune into a great hip hop/jazz fusion tune.

  • @theredlite tru!!

  • so classy, I REALLY like this kind of music. So glad to be 26. Old school music will be always be remembered as entertaining but also as something that goes deep into your soul, your mind, your heart and creates emotion. Today's crap can only be listened in elevators, even though it's better not to hear it at all....

  • Thumbs up if the first time you heard this it was from MTV's Buzz Bin Vol. 1!

To anyone under the age of 21, yes, MTV used to play music.

  • smooooooth--and that's from an old white guy!

  • fuck you VEVO.. i hope ur old lady cops it and ur kids get hooked on drugs, muthafucker of a creation you turned out to be.

  • @SuperRiverRat1 u should take it easy, go get some pills or smth
