  • wtf no SLI

  • The presenter is such a d*ck!

  • Hello, i know this video is old but you stated that the cpu is a 45nm? Other websites are saying 32nm an yes im looking at the Dx58so, not the Dx58so2. please confirm this thanks.

  • @Rahzie87 It supports both 45nm an 32nm your saying?

  • I want my old style PS2 keyboard!!!!!!!! And i still like floppy(i don't use it but... just for let you know)

  • ??????

  • No PS/2. Instant fail. There is no way i'm giving up my good working ps/2 keyboard and mouse. And it needs an IDE for dvd drives.

  • :)) No your not !~

  • Whats the difference between this and the dx580g? cause i cant find info about this motherboard on google, strange....

  • @CrASYmUZIk This board is not meant to be compared to the DX58OG. If you really wanna compare, compare the DX58OG to the DX58SO2.

  • I like the Intel DX58SO, but im hearing bad things about it. Would anyone recommand it!

  • ha intell design flaws smacking people in rude. the full size groaphic cards. those realy long graphic cards dose not fit beuase the card is killing the SATA2 connectors I had that problem on MSI motherboard. I ahve to use cheap low grade grpahic cards that are smaller then 1/2 the size. of the card EVGA X58 Classfied 3 motherboard dose not suffer thois problem on grpahic cards being too long killing SATAII Connectors trying to break motherboard

  • I keed you now the 1366 cpu retail box is a pile of shit ok.the heat sink that comes iwth the CPU keeps falling off. that 4 pin things taht snap on the motherboard keeps falling off. Intel service stinks. full of spamming and spamming servays. fake links from intell and fake instuctions on what to ato about my problem. adn deand rewars on my servaysfor there stupid fucked up service,. I never had heat sink problems on AMD NEVER I fucking hate that sink sink

  • will it work with a INTEL CORE I7-2600K 3.40 GHZ ?

  • @turbotonic27 no, its not an X58 (LG1136) processor, its a 1155 processor

  • I want to buy gaming PC but do not know where. Can you tell me how?

  • can we fill-up all the RAM Slots with 4GB single slot RAM like 4X4=16 Whats that black stands RAM Slot for...?

  • the SO2 has overclock buttons on it to increase the base clock frequence EPIC

  • Popped my cherry? How professional.

  • does this board support w3500 xeons?

  • Does it support the intel core i7 980x ??

  • @Sam737loverfsx yes with a bios update it will

  • @Sam737loverfsx Yep :)

  • 19 people still use PS2s from 1999!

  • @MeterminatorX ps2 is faster then USB 2.0 but not 3.0

  • STUPIDLY DUMBLY FTW!!!

  • i have 2 computer builds, one with the dx58so and another with the rampange iii formula, and to my opinion the rampage iii formula was better, especially at overclocking

  • can you tell me when the DX58so2 is due to be released

  • Entry at RISK. FRAGGERS ONLY.

    WARNING:

NOOBS BEWARE. YOU WILL BE PWND

    i rofld with this.

  • i went in to best buy and bought a hpe-112y desktop i dont like it at all its not very fast or reliable. can anybody give me the name of a motherboard that would still fit and be more powerful than the one i have now?

  • Does this support Intel Core i7-980 Extreme edition Six core processor?

  • @iTsANeX yes

  • Dose this insane board support i7 870

  • does this support core i7 950

  • @superclaw900 I beleive so, at least that's what it says on the intel website.

  • @Shockersify kk thank you so much

  • on the intel site it says yes

  • popped your cherry!!

  • What happen if i had the 2 pci power connectors (sata and molex) both connected ?

  • This is a awesome board. I just finished building with this board with i7-950.it's fast I don't even need to overclock this board. bought it new from eBay for $160.

  • i have it really cool moterboard

  • Comment removed

  • Same here. I got the new version which has better SATA ports and stuff but no Far Cry 2.

  • I Didnt Get my Farcry 2 disk!! >:O

  • @903harman same here, but i got the new version of the board, thats better anyways^^

  • @903harman because it came with ghost recon 2

  • @superclaw900 no on my box it says free copy of Far Cry 2 and when i opened my box i didnt find any farcry disk.

  • I buy it, and now I have been playing everything in the market!!!!! Awsome MotherBoard!

  • hey man pls some 1 help me! i got a second hand motherboard but i dont no wat name it is n i dont have the cd! on the motherboard it says MSI N1996 is this the name?i need the drivers!pls

  • It looks a bit weird that the Memory Slots are on top of the CPU socket

  • He said that Pentium to Core 2 was a great increase of performance.. wll I'm going Pentium to i7 at once... it's gonna be epic.

  • hey, I'm using Intel P4 and i am undead.

  • @artemis2314 im dead i'm saving money to get my i7 980x computer

  • wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!this motherboard DX58SO is the 2nd motherboard that i see using processor Core i7....very cool...

  • this board is terrible!

  • @Mr937595 How so?

  • which one board best?

intel DX58so or Asus maximus iii

I want to buy a better power supply unit so i can buy more fansand another 9800 GTX+ or sell it and buy the GTX 285 itself

  • yea rite...since when this board supports am3 socket...Try harder next time

  • @Blackcandlez you talkin about the board in this vid its x58 no x58 mobo supports am3

  • @asus3571 Yes I know that. I was replying to iheartcomps. Think u interpret the msg wrongly. HAhahaha ^^

  • @Blackcandlez yerp bro i was hopeing noone was that stupid

  • @iheartcomps AMD doesn't fit the 64-bit chip that is required for this board u liar

  • It DOES actually support both SLI and Crossfire.

  • WHAT REALLY? wow lolol ty i have this mobo and was gonna sli it but then i saw what this guy said but then you said it does so i'll try it out

  • wwhhha????? no sli?????????? then how did Rodney Renolds get his running in sli?

  • @ryguyrocker

bios updates released in 2009 enables SLI.

  • o sweet thanks for telling me that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ryguyrocker

the new BIOS update enables SLI

  • notice how the motherboard pic in the background is the asus p6t... (deluxe)

  • lol i like the way he starts telling us whats in the box sounds like a song

  • i have 1 hahahahahahahah

  • I dont like his ram comparison.

    DDR2 is 100% faster than DDR(1) (1+100%=2 chips)

    DDR3 is 50% faster than DDR2 (2+50%=3 chips)

    He sais DDR2 - DDR1 50%

    DDR3 - DDR2 50%

  • sorry,good motherboards

  • do motherboards improve the efficiency of the graphic card?

  • Wonder how much is this one wah?

  • I'm running quad sli+ dedicated physics on this board. Not the greatest in the world but it does the job.

  • I HAVE 1 hahah

  • Oh,i want! tiger, you guys should do a giveaway every twice a week that awesome! :)

  • haha i have 1

  • OMG didn't know intel had that much humor N00BS WARNING

    you will be pwned

    XD

  • I am concerned I may be only getting a 1156 Mobo pc (because I am on a bugdet) with a i7-860 but for heaven sake my ASUS P55 Pro has SLI (at a slightly lower 8x) and crossfire and all the other cool stuff like memory checker and V-turbo. so for a x58 one intel has not done a very good job here but that is just me.

  • Actually, I was able to make a nice budgeted Bloomfield setup on newegg for roughly $50 more than a Lynfield. The i7-920 is only ~$90 more than an i5 and you can get great combo deals with cpus/mobos. That said, either is great really. I've seen the i7-820 beat the 920 in some benchmark tests.

  • dont get the 800 series 7, they suck nutsack, just get the ergular i and get a cheaper HDD or mobo,

  • Couple reasons

    1. I was on a budget

    2. I want to keep heat down since my room gets hot even when freezing cold outside

    3. the 1156 takes less power

    4. I am not overly intrested in the i9 i dont need a 6 core processor

  • if you ask me i believe it to be quite IDIOTIC that this intel motherboar or the company for that matter didnt make it SLI ready...

how the fuck are you gonna attract nvidia fans? youre cutting your sales.

  • "You don't have one"?? lol I have :D

  • rofl as soon as i heard that i got embarrased for him

  • Comment removed

  • how much video cards can you put in?

  • they are crappy over priced and probably last u 100 years

  • lol, it popped his cherry

  • Comment removed

  • why does intel make so crapy boards?

  • This board sucks, it starts slow and hangs when you have a cd in your drive when you start your pc.

Bought a foxconn flaming blade and all my troubles are over.

  • will it support GDDR5 of the radeon HD 4890??? please reply soon i have to decide now! between the gtx 260 216 core and the 4890

  • all MB's support that if they got pci-e

  • yes it will i have the ATI radeon HD 4890 it works and its aswome tell me if you did

  • ive got all the parts im assembling it 2mrw cant wait =)

  • the cpu mem controller has nothing to do with a gpu's memory, besides get a core 216 , they kick all

  • ass*

  • its stupid that intel and nvidia aren't because they make both the best stuff

  • no.. ATI beat nvidia.

  • no.. nvidia beat ATI

  • @crystal19831 NOPE. look some reviews on the HD5800 and HD5900 series before u talk bullshit

  • my apologies i just bought my gtx295 mars edition and got over-excited...my bad :)

  • @crystal19831 lol :P well im gonna buy an HD5870 :) or 5890 when it comes out since its cheaper then 285 or 295

  • how much energy this thing consumes?

  • I have the i7 940 now i know there discontinued but i want to know can it be easily replaced with a i7 965 extreme?

I have the x58 Intel MB ( Of course ).

  • I DO have one dick!

  • Easy on him man! Hes just playing around...

    brib333

  • i am building a PC with the intel i7 950 and the Intel DX58SO motherboard, whats been troubling me is that on the front of the usual PC case you have USB slots now do they automatically come with the motherboard so once it's all put together they will be there or do you need to add them separately (possibly stupid question but this is my first time building a pc lol) thanks.

  • Why a i7 950 3GHz right? I would get the i7 920 @ 2.6GHz and over-clock it to 4GHz :). And yes that is reachable with air-cooling (d0 cpu and not reachable with the default cooler of intel).

  • Btw what do you mean 'add them separately'? The usb that is mounted on the case (front/top/side) you need to connect that to the motherboard. In the back of the case you also have usb ports, but most of the time it comes with the motherboard

  • Thanks now i understand how it works

  • I am also building a pc (finished building it yesterday :P) and i have to say "don't worry". On the computer case itself are usb slots, you have to plug them on to the motherbord so don't worry there are enough on the pc. (u can see where u have to plug them on 1:26 all the way down at the left corner under the silver battery which is under the white arrow )

Have alot of fun, building your pc :P

(i am not english, sorry for the mistakes)

  • 2 things, dx58so is worst x58 board available for its price. and second, the fron tusb slots come with the case, and they have wires which you plug in the mobo. and you mean

  • The board now supports sli.

  • i do got one doushe bag shit head

  • Woah, settle down there big bertha.

  • i want to run a galaxy gtx 260+ graphics card with this board, will 650 psu do the job

  • it should but you won;t be able to do sli

  • what psu will be strong enough to run this board

  • I use a 750 watt PSU and 2 4890's in CrossFire. Plenty to spare but it depends on what else you have running too.

  • Wow, the DX58SO is insane.

  • i kinda miss those ide and floppy headers though

  • is this better than the 790i board??

  • this motherboard is the worst compared to all other X58 boards intel shud just stick to processors and chips they are no gud at this they waste precious metal making this BTW they even included a ghost recon 2 disk and that card just to look badass.BTW sorry but there is no use for IDE coz most dvd drives are sata now and if u update the bios im sure this will support SLI but overall this board suks intel is on its way to making copper and other metals an endangered species :P

  • and another thing this albert guy suks hairy monkey homo balls they shud get logan back he rulez these reviews :D to me this idiot has no sense of humor like logan duz and he seems to have a fetishist hate for the legacy ports like ps/2,IDE and so on....check out tiger directs other videos if u dont believe me.i wonder what happend to logan though??? :( logan always has a special gift to make even the most useless and boring pc crap look like super priceless rare diamonds

  • and another thing a motherboard duznt need six dimm slots it only needs 3 coz x58 motherboard have a limitation which if the dimms are overclocked above 1800 or above only 3 dimms will work six dimms will not support over 1800 mhz

  • This board does support SLI! Intell has updated it's bios a few times since this video from last year came out so, yes this board supports SLI. I have this board and it does just fine, you can even run 2 4890 Saphhire 2GB cards(the ones with wide cooling fins on the back) in crossfire, unlike some other mobos because the slots are wide enough on this board to let you do it.

  • Comment removed

  • a gameboy advance has solid caps. then you know something about the quality

  • Comment removed

  • Did he say your supposed to put a video card in the X4 slot?

  • only for PhsX i think thats how u spell it :P

  • On intels site it says it supports SLI? whats this guy talking about?

  • Well when it first came out it didn't, because it's a non NVIDIA chipset but now it does.

  • nooooooooooooo it can do 1 nvidia card

  • @ricpon, when this vid was made, the DX58SO did not support SLi, only Crossfire. Nvidia later allowed Intel to use SLi without their chipsets, so the motherboard now supports SLi.

  • Athlon 64 FTW!

  • i am planning to build a workstation, bu do not know much about it, I´m gonna buy the Intel DX58SO and a i7 chip, an Nvidia QUADRO FX 3500 and some 3GB of RAM, what power supply should i use, i dont know how much power do i need to make it function correctly, i was gonna choose a 550watt PS, but i preffer to wait for some advice from experts like u (hey, i´m in México, so i can´t go to COMPUSA and ask) .

  • lol noobs beware you will be pwnd

  • THIS BOARD DOESN'T SUPPORT SLI??!?!

  • It does now with the new BIOS update. It wasn't SLI certified when it came out initially.

  • Oh, ok.

  • its an intel board

  • This guy is Crazy just like my Friend with his sarcastic ass lol.

  • Does anyone try it on Mac OS X with i7 920 CPU?

If it works on Mac OS X then it would be a big jump for user.

I am seeking for a workable Desktop Board for PC and Mac OS X.

  • This is as close you can get with the OSx86. intel Gbit 82566mm driver needs a patch but the rest works OOB

  • atleast it's a dual core..

  • oh man! im stuck! i still use Pentium D's.. WTF!

  • Airhyl LOL funny! its very modern board i guess. Hey, it doesnt support SLi? Cant you download firmware that would enable the sli to it? Ive heard something that nvidia release some weird tech bios update for the i7 mobos enabling sli? I dont know if manufacturers has to install it befor releasing it on market or anyone could do it. If youre sure about this I would welcome any replies about that :) thanks

  • They are now selling this same one with same name change no price differecnce but it supports SLI. It even comes with the bridge.

  • okay, I checked out Intels site about this mobo and the BIOS Version 3435 firmware from February 11, 2009 and newer, does support SLi so idk why do they put the board with updated bios into some other propagated box along with SLi bridge. Weird huh? Cant you get SLi bridge with the card or why is it in the box? I dont know much about nvidia stuff but that shouldnt be a hard nut to get the bridge or is it?

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I bought one, then in my home after all the installation i just took my mouse and keyboard, took the cables looked at the MoBo and said OM$^&% god where are the Ps2 then i cried....... lol

  • can this board support 1.65v memory like corsair TR3X6G1600C8D Dominator 6GB 3x2GB ?

  • yes.

  • QUESTION, will my xfx geforce 9800 gtx video card ddr3 be compadable with the x58so? please answer

  • yes. why wouldn't it be

  • I heard that the SATA layout is so pretty bad that if you put a card with a fat ass like GTX 285 it will cover most of them thus they will not be usable is that true ?

  • this is really only the case if you are using SLI or Crossfire with two long cards like, as you said, the GTX285. And even then, the SATA ports are still usable if you purchase 90 degree SATA connectors.

  • THANKS your words saved the motherboard from being exiled :)

  • lol no problemo

  • hello friend (wow 6 months already past :)

so i bought this motherboard along with asus mars edition gtx295 and xonar slim soundcard.....AND THEY DID NOT FIT TOGETHER on this motherboard so the only way for them to fir together is to install the video card in the secondrey PCI slot :(

i hope it does not affect the gtx295's performance by placing it in there

stupid INTEL they should make room between the primary videocard slot and the PCI 2.2 slot for fat video cards

  • this guy's voice just makes me want to punch him in the face, but that's just me

  • Rofl it isnt just you i think its everybody

  • his mama never tought him to read

  • Yes you could do SLI with this board, even nvidia's site said they approved SLI on this board, all you need is to update to the newest bios.

    Notice....

When this video was made And when they approved SLI on this.

  • Does this works with nvidia cards?

    And can you do SLi?

  • no - he mentioned it wont do sli - this is a crossfire board - dual ati - no nvidia support

  • Wrong! This was way back in November of last year! The new Bios update supports SLI now, so yes it's SLI compatible. Build it! :p

  • no you cant do sli

  • Did you read what I said? The NEW BIOS UPDATE SUPPORTS SLI NOW! So yes, this board will run SLI!!!

  • ohh my bad sorry
