  • I know it was a year ago, but some of the comments on here are completely ridiculous, who the hell are they to start insulting not just tori's voice but the way she looks?! some bloody people. Tori is beautiful and an amazing actress and interpreter of song, this is quite different to versions i've heard of this song and I loved it. I think she's a wonderful British talent and I can't wait to see her rise up on the west end!

  • Beautiful. Dynamic. Interesting. Everything it should be.

  • @nickschriermt thank you for your kind comments, they mean more than I can say xxxxxxx

  • Criticism is constant in the industry. Even with amazing talent.

You'll probably need to get used to it because your talent is exemplary.

Don't listen to fake tan/disney/bland comments.

The clapping at the end speaks volumes.

  • @MultiShelly1985 Yay. You made an account just to say that? ^_^ Minion much?

  • @MultiShelly1985 thank you so much for such a kind comment, means the world to me, and sorry you got a silly response. I guess some people love to hate. But I appreciate your lovely message xxx

  • As far as the headshots... sorry but I still think a couple of the videos with you singing live you look a lot more beautiful than those. Personally, if I was going through them I'd immediately toss them to the side and be like "Yawn. Another one of those fake girls who's orange and plastic. Next!" I'm specifically talking about the ones with the brownish earthy background by the way. The others aren't bad, but you should burn those; they look dreadful.

  • Tori Allen Martin - I think you are extraordinarily beautiful. Your rich, fluid, unique voice hits a wavelength in my brain which turns me to jelly every time. You find all the nuances in a song and inject them straight into my heart, then you add something extra just because you can. And I love the fact that you remain dignified under pressure xx

  • @susiegriffbag that is the kindest thing I think anyone has ever said to me and so beautifully written I just might cry. I can not thank you enough for such a gorgeous comment and it really means more than I can say; I would like to hug you, really tight; you beautiful person............ honestly, i'm like overwhelmed by that. xxxxx Thank you xxx

  • Wow, Tor! You're amazing xx

  • @scarlettsroses1 xxxxxx you're lovely xxxxxxx

  • .... i've been lucky enough to have some amazing people believe in me and am slowly maing a career out of doing what I love best. I don't know your background or expertise or if you're familiar with this kind of material, and as far as I can see you've not uploaded any videos so I can't tell but I wish you all the best in your career and I will try and keep mine out of your way.

  • @toriallenmartin To quote myself exactly as I put it, I said, "Your voice kind of reminds me of a Disney voice." I never claimed you sounded bad. Just that your voice had an insipid quality to it. There's nothing about it that sounds really unique or grabs me, and you hit some wrong notes every once in a while, but you're not just bad. Hell, you sing better than the majority of these losers in music industry today who are being carried only through good looks and charisma.

  • @toriallenmartin As for my background to prove (albeit with no concrete evidence) that I have some sense in what I'm talking about I have 4 years of formal education in photography and theater. For my current job I work as a make- up artist, which I've been doing for over a year although I've had the experience for about 3. I also play guitar and have studied classical violin for 12 years and piano for 8. I don't sing though, but I know the ins and outs of what a good singer is and does.

  • @toriallenmartin Lastly, I do appreciate and admire your elegant and intelligent responses. It's always a breath of fresh air when ppl take criticism without having some kind of tantrum or fit. I just hope you don't take everything to heart though. There's many many people who are going to give it to you a lot meaner or worse than I ever could. The music industry (as well as other similar industries) is not for the weak at heart.

  • @zLuxz i'm not weak at heart, i can handle criticism and rejection, it's a huge part of this industry, i just thought some of your comments were a little beyond; as for the 'bum notes' - do you know the song off my heart? - there are some odd notes in it, and i'm acting it, which is why it's not so 'sung' as most of my other performances and hence any 'bum' notes - she's falling apart and frustrating, technical perfection wouldn't be right. Obviously if i'd had footage of me performing it

  • @zLuxz I would have put it up. But I didn't. I appreciate that you hate my headshots, as i've explained, they are saturated on this video, however, I am not cast aside by casting directors, they do see me, and even miraculously, cast me! So i'm sticking with my head shot. I appreciate you are entitled to your comments, I just have never had a comment like that posted, before so I guess it took me back a little. But as I said before, all the best x

  • You clearly aren't a fan of my voice so I don't understand your last comment of 'I should sell my voice' rather than my 'bimbo' looks. There are plenty videos of me on here and plenty tracks on myspace, soundcloud etc. I'm sorry that you don't like my voice but just ignore my videos. I appreciate these are out there for you to criticise but I as a person don't like to dig people out - if it's not my taste I don't feel the need to diss it. So I find some of your comments hurtful... however...

  • @toriallenmartin I never said I didn't like your voice either; I'm actually pretty neutral. I apologize for you feeling hurt by my comments, or feeling like I'm hating, bagging on or dissing you, but that's how I operate. I'm in-your-face like that and seeing as you are an in-your-face type of industry it's time for you to get with the program. You can't dwell on people's personal opinions or criticisms no matter how rude or inconsiderate they are.

  • I am just confused with your comment in general. Disney voices tend to be beautiful yet you find mine bland and only has a 'hint' of talent. I actually work in the theatre already and as a session vocailst, and have worked with Universal records. I also previously worked in make-up for two and a half years, the colouring of the pictures on this video are a little saturated, yes but my headshots have got me lovely work so far and so i'm not complaining.

  • @toriallenmartin All you need is faith in your own talent and the drive to turn that into what you want it to be. At the end of the day, who gives a shit what I or anyone else has to say if you're happy with yourself and the type of music you're putting out there? I'm not paying your bills, I'm not your friend. I'm just some chick making hopefully helpful but critical remarks on youtube.

  • Hmm. Not a bad voice, but it has no real substance or texture. Just kind of boring more than anything, but there's some hint of talent there. I definitely suggest sticking with theater or voice acting work; your voice kind of reminds me of a Disney voice.

More than anything I'm annoyed with the fake tan thing and/or awful make-up job you have going on. It looks terrible. 0:08 - 0:20 much? Dreadful looking. You should be selling your voice, not some plastic-looking, bimbo exterior.

  • @zLuxz i'm actually mixed race and had just come back from holiday. I wasn't fake tanned. It's not something I feel the need to do? I wasn't aware I looked plastic or like a bimbo and because there was no video, I just shoved some headshots in which is what we do for all of our performers.

If I have no substance or texture why should I stick with theatre or voice acting work? I also think a lot of the 'disney' voices are very beautiful- I don't see that as an insult? Thanks anyway.

  • @toriallenmartin Well, your skin looks shiny and fake and the pink lipstick that doesn't match your skin tone doesn't help at all. Here's a quick lesson in make-up: Your skin has yellow undertones; therefore earthy colors are much more flattering on you. I personally think you should take new heashots and get a better make up job before doing it. I looked at a couple of videos to know that you look much more attractive than how those portray you.

  • @toriallenmartin Your voice is obviously best suited for theater/voice acting. I haven't heard enough to make some overall analysis of your voice, but from what I heard you sound kind of bland (note: I did mention that your voice wasn't bad and that there was a hint of talent there), but with some work I think the voice acting area would be best for you. I don't see how anything to do with Disney could be insulting though, so it's interesting you thought I meant that as an insult.
