after doing that long drive on that unsafe road, i was very disappointed with what hana had to offer. the people not as nice as people say. i had my belongings stolen after someone broke my window to my rent a car. locals are rude on the road and try to push you off at every turn. what is wrong with them? we visitors spend our hard earned money to relax and be told to take the drive to hana, never again! i will pass the word far and wide!! we will spend our money elsewhere

@ekahi78 I grew up there and now it is crowed with even more tourists like you who couldn't have a good time anywhere. Try New York city for your next vacation. Oh you are from there!!! Don't worry because there are more like you on the plane right now. Respect the people and the land and you will be treated better. Throughout my travels I have seen the "ugly tourist" many times. We were there last week. This was the most unforgettable drive of my life. 617 turns, 54 bridges, 52 miles...it was almost like a video game. Keanae Peninsula and the black-sand beach at Waianapanapa were my faves.
