  • Nerdy corrective comment about metal.

  • how come new bands can't get it right like these bands did?

  • Classic early doom metal

  • Titties and Metal=awesomeness!!!

  • This band is amazing, fuck knows how they didn't make it huge, every song on this album has a simple but amazing riff, vocals are excellent and lyrics above average for the genre! Thye should make an anvil type documentary in a vain attempt to justify why they werent at least as big as sabbath!

  • Why have I waited until this day to listen to Witchfinder General!?!?

  • One of the heaviest N.W.O.B.H.M. bands!!! I consider them along with Witchfynde and Diamond Head as top of the genre (if I dare to say such thing, because there are a lot of... "top" bands here). Cheers!

  • Just discovered this song. It rocks.

  • now that brings back memories

  • Iam only 23 but I never listen to modern day metal. I just dont like it. I love this kind of music.

  • @santanaincubus same age, same mentality right with ya

  • @crotchtheband Rock on man! c\m/. This band RULES

  • Fuck Yeah! c\m/

  • legendary essential doom metal right here

  • These guys just kicked ass. Super raw audio, when we pumped it thru the PA it sounded live. Great recording. Reminds me of getting blazed listening to audio dubs between bands and getting ready to go back on stage. Some great memories from these uploads. CHEERS!!

  • English people are fucking amazing...

  • @TheMetalHead554 Thankyou!

  • @80rockrules Black Sabbath... new wave of British Heavy Metal? Uhh, excuse me if I'm wrong, but their first album came out in 1970 so what would be the OLD wave of British Heavy Metal? Cream?

Whatever, its not really important. I love Black Sabbath, they basically founded one of my favorite genres of metal, doom. But Black Sabbath is more like the metal missing link, they're not quite rock, but they ain't quite metal, and however you put it we might not be here without them.

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p to think they wanted to play some blues and european folk music XD

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p Black Sabbath is metal in it's purest unadulterated form. but they were a progressive band also, that experimented with many different styles.

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p First album was actually '69 ;)

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p not to piss you off or anything but according to the metal family tree they belong to to early metal

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p Depends on which album you're talking about, really.

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p Not quite metal? Black Sabbath's, specifically Tony Iommi's, detuning is the basis for all heavy metal. This includes all subsets that people want to split it up into. Black Sabbath is the definition of heavy metal and the farther a band gets away from Sabbath, the farther that band gets away from being metal.

  • @Oddwun Sorry, but based on this logid the further people go away from using sticks and stones as instrument the less they get away from making music. :p

It's good to respect the old masters but let's not get stuck in the past.

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p True, but don't say something against Cream ;)

  • @Nyar1ath0t3p Sabbath is one of the heaviest bands out there. It's the atmosphere, not the speed.

  • this trumps sabbath after mob rules for sure. everything up to that is gold IMO including technical ecstacy and never say die. if you dont like those albums i suggest you listen to them again cuz theres some great stuff there. nothing against witchfinder general tho.

  • Comment removed

  • Good tune. VOL. 4 sounding guitars.

  • @WillHear432 I hear it now that you mention it..."snowblind?" In all honesty Sabbath is like my favorite band ever, but this trumps everything after Master of Reality for me. Just saying...

  • Ozzy will not die. When this world is no longer metal enough to sustain him he will rise on a column of lightning to Valhalla ... to feed.

  • @ElNick09 ahhahahahahahah

  • @ElNick09 I don't know what the fuck you just said, but Ozzy shall reign supreme forever! This band sounds more like Sabbath than anything Sabbath did after Bloody Sabbath! Love Dio (RIP) but Sabbath with Dio just sounds like Dio. I"m only frightened by the first three albums..

  • the one and only black sabbath sons, NWOBHM heroes forever. Ozzy would have beeon proud of these guys...

  • @80rockrules you make it sound like ozzy is dead or something XD

  • I still have this LP:)

  • cool, there's tits on the cover!

  • they have some hot women on their album covers

  • KILL 'EM ALL

  • @0darkwizard0 where did you saw me calling WG inferior? they're fuckin good, but I can't say that they haven't a strong sabbath vein

  • For how unpopular Witchfinder General is, they are definitely one of the greatest doom metal bands of all time. Every aspect of the music is enjoyable from the lyrics to the amazing guitar riffs

  • pretty sure they came out around the same time this was the style back then ozzy just held on lol and his wife lol

  • pure old style dark rock ! and yes there is some sabbath influenced stuff. so what it's great

  • Pretty much most rock bands after about 1970 either followed Led Zeplin's or Black Sabbath's music template.

  • @0darkwizard0 man, I really has to answer a comment like that? Can't discuss with people like you. Keep your opinion, but you can not force anyone to accept it man =P

I love Sabbath, but I can not compare? I don't give a shit rsrs

  • ...lamb of god?

  • @PJBG45 hahaha I see what you did there.

  • In the singles they sound like a Sabbath's clone, but in the albums they have their own sound influenced by Sabbath obviously. They're fuckin good, a NWOBHM Sabbath with some 70's hard rock vein.

  • 11 people are witches, burn them to the ground!!!!

  • nice tits............

  • Ihave the picture disc, red vinyl and cd copies of this album!

  • Still one of my favorite album covers!

  • What 7 spastic faggots have been here?

  • eye eye general!!!!1

  • Its sad that Zeeb Parkes vanished after the WFG split. It would have been interesting to see where he could have really taken his place in Heavy Metal.

  • @IntellectualAmy I think he'd always have his own place in Doom.

  • @Rapturized - You're right. At least he will be fondly remembered for what was achieved. I agree.

  • vocals are a blantant ozzy ripoff

  • @67675656565655656565 - I think Zeeb Parkes took the Black Sabbath style further, so I wouldn't say he was an Ozzy rip off. Witchfinder General were the band that Sabbath failed to go to... Credit them that much. A sadly missed era.

  • @IntellectualAmy saying that just confirms he ripped off ozzy your just using euthasims execuse my spelling.Failed to go what you talking about sabbath already virtually pioneered heavy metal over 10 years before this came out, cant go any further than that. The music isnt so much of a sabbath ripoff just the vocals are.

  • @67675656565655656565 - You could say that about many metal bands, and even today which is 30 years on from Witchfinder General and the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. Black Sabbath were not the only band to have brought forth Heavy Metal; what about Deep Purple? What about Led Zepplin?

  • @IntellectualAmy that maybe true but they had the most influence upon bands imo i dont really consider led zeppelin to be a heavy metal band.

  • @67675656565655656565

so if your voice is like mine, are you ripping my voice off?

  • @Chamenful if i heard your voice and was inspired by your vocals then yes off course, cant you people handle the fact that this vocalist ripped off ozzy.

  • @67675656565655656565

does it matter? Witchfinder General is an awesome band, and Black Sabbath is pretty much untouchable.

  • @Chamenful nah i like witchfinder but yeah just pointing out the vocals sound like ozzy

  • What's better, the DP lp or the slv?

  • iller dur mug

  • amazing band...crack a beer open and enjoy!!!

  • best album cover ever

  • cool song dude

  • Fuckin' BRITISH METAL!!!!

  • I think of.... Sabbath's SNOWBLIND!!!!

  • so fucking kick-ass!!!!!!! soooooooooooo fucking sick. new favorite :D

  • Wow this really does sound like Ozzy. Fucking Sabbath sounding! Great band, glad I found them. Thanks for the upload kind sir!

    Doom Over the World! \m/

  • magnificent album cover for an awesome song...

  • the singer sounds like a mix of vince neil and ozzy lol

  • @josephhighfield

Agreed. Thinking the same. The song Free Country sounds alot like Crue/Sabbath altogether too.

  • @josephhighfield I think more like a mix of Paul Baloff and Ozzy

  • damn this shit kicks ass

  • Early Doom M. bands ALWAYS have a raw and heavier sound, that´s what Im always looking for.

  • the intro really sounds like the transition in Lamb of God's "Vigil"

  • @Heinekenberg You mean Vigil by LOG sounds like this.

  • @DoctorWho1983 guess so :P but do you know it?

  • wow, this is awesome, sounds like sabbath :)

  • Wow, I'm surprised that a song with such a title and lyrical content we haven't burst into youtube arguments. We should be proud of ourselves.

  • @crowbarftw I actually came in here to see if there was an argument going on. Haha. I'm kind of surprised there isn't one!

It is an outstanding piece of music, though.

  • @crowbarftw Hey, I can still enjoy a song I fundamentally disagree with the message of. So long as it's a badass song.

I can't tell if they're just being ironic, though.

  • this song is awsome.

  • I remember recording this on that stormy night in 1982, good times. I miss them days me and Phil would ride around town gettin' drunk listening to Sabbath's Volume 4 album over and over, while Kid, the drummer would be at the studio with some hookers he picked up that night, doin their thing. Man, I miss these days, I miss the real Phil Cope!

  • @Zeebparkes hay zeebparkes why did they kick out of the band man you were so fucken awsome in w.f.g.

  • He sounds kinda like ozzy.

  • great album. I got it!!

  • the voices like ozzy in the of black sabbath era but the guitar riff it`s boring to death

  • @5vlad is your ignorant ass talking about this songs gtr riff GO HOOP YOUR HEAD you jackass

  • @aliaham you knows nothing about heavy metal stupid asshole

  • Perfect Doom. Hail Witchfinder General.

  • BUBAGIGI you lucky bastard! Tis an original?

  • awesome song

  • Real doom.

  • I just can't believe this band didn't catch on. I have never heard of them before.

  • just awesome.

  • my mate just gave me the vinyl of this it kicks ass majorly.

  • the opening riff is like 'speak when spoken to' by freak kitchen!!!

  • @rajob

    Holy shit!!

  • GEIL-ZUR DER ZEIT HABEN WIR DIE PUSSY MIT SAHNE VOLLGESPRITZT

  • old cult doom metal

  • Wow, it's Black Sabbath! Not complaining.

  • wow there really is stoner metal. thats funny

  • fuck awsome...............

  • a ( traditional ) doom band MUST sound like black sabbath !

  • @xDIStructorx a doom funeral band can't sound like BS

  • @giwtzi

    thats why i said traditional

  • @xDIStructorx yeah, same goes for a stoner doom bAND.

  • @xDIStructorx yeah, same goes for a stoner doom bAND.

  • The United Nations does not support the death penalty. The European Union is against the death penalty.

  • Puro heavy obscuro joda¡¡¡:D

  • Titlesong (1982) and by the way the topless model is "Joanne Latham" .-)

  • @kinsmanfalls trolls are shitty.

  • @Resavult My shit is shitty

  • @bagofgoldenhammers One would assume.

  • Sounds a bit like Tomorrow's dream... but gosh this is fabulous !

  • This album cover is the shit.

  • Did Witchfinder General ever make any music videos? Live show vhs/dvd?? I'd like to *see* more of these guys, they rock... indeed they fucking rock.

  • A lot of the NWOBHM bands namechecked Sabbath as and influence; like Angelwitch, who would play Paranoid at their gigs. Not many bands can say they've had that kind of impact in the music industry. By the way the guiters in the middle are the same as Hand of Doom.

  • Is this a Sabbath copy? Probably. But remember, good music has to be recycled...

  • yes true... a sabbath clone will always be better than any bitch like Britney Spears!

  • Is it just me, or do the drums not sound good?

  • OBVIOUSLY this sounds like a Black Sabbath clone, every GOOD trad. doom band does! The entire genre is sabbath worship ha, listen to ciruth ungol, witchfinder general, saint vitus, pentagram, trouble, even candlemass and you'll hear it, what a ridiculous conversation!

  • Exactly. They were a seminal influence. Very few bands can honestly say they're doing something new, most are basing their music off a number of prior influences, so there's nothing wrong with such a thing. There are plenty of worse bands to base your sound on than Sabbath!

  • @gorgoroth Your username is epic.

  • @gorgoroth they should change the sub genre to sabbath metal instead of doom metal.

  • Fuck shut the fuck up about sabbath I mean sabbath is great but I think every one fucking gets it man its fucking posted on every single motherfucking stoner/doom metal video

  • because Black Sabbath is ace.

  • Do you know that repeating the world "fuck" every second doesn't make you look smarter?

  • The more you swear, the cooler you are.

  • i wish the bass was turned up more in the mix

  • I hear it is Zeeb's Birthday today. Happy Birthday to the God of doom metal vocals. There is no Witchfinder General without you. x

  • It sounds like copy of early Black Sabbath, but very good copy.

  • Black Sabbath is usually the main influence in any Doom band.

  • @DivinityOfDoom

    yes and no

  • that's pretty much every single doom metal band ever.

  • wow you can hear the black sabbath influence heavily in this band

  • well,maybe I'm stoned but this song isn't "Death penalty" - is "Free country"!!!! Am I right?...or I was wrong since 1981...

  • No, this is the song Death Penalty. Free Country is "LOOK OUT FOR ME, TRIP ON LSD, LOOK OUT FOR ME, DS LOOK OUT FOR ME"

    Your probably stoned hahaha

  • I download ressurected and im damn glad i didnt buy it the vocals on it are a joke!!!! Everytime i listen to it i cant help but LAUGH MY ASS OFF WFG needs zeeb back or else they will be made fun of forever!

  • it also sounds like aqualung...

  • this sounds like spinal tap lol

  • 432

  • Great Music, Great Cover!!!

  • Great song, though Zeeb Parkes was a pretty bad singer. They are reformed now and their new record is pretty good.

  • Kickass band...like Electric Wizard. \m/ Keep on rockin' guys

  • homicidal killers, can you tell me what their worth... stories of adolph hitler and his crew or the teachings of "wise old uncle charles manson" will tell you all you need to know bout nothing...

  • they say they are insane...haha die witchesburn!!! like the witch king of angmar (Death) says " feast on his flesh " right before eowyn and pippin fuck him and his fell beast up!

  • ahoooooooou!

  • haha

  • This album kicks ass. Why, why, why has Phil ripped us off with the new recording? It is so obviously not WFG. If he needed a new project he should have found a new name. I feel he is sponging off his partnership with Zeeb. But I Still think Phil's the best riff master ever.

  • I have the new Witchfinder and I don't feel ripped off. It's a good record. Give the guys credit, at least they are putting out new music. Can the same be said for Zeeb? Or is he like you, just sitting on his ass whining like a little bitch?

  • Hey dude if you like that resurrected thing cool but do not credit it as Witchfinder as that it is not. As you dis Zeeb it shows you are no Witchfinder General fan. You obviously do not know your onions.

  • Sorry bud...the only band member missing was Zeeb - the rhythm section was the original final line up from 1983- like it or not!!!!Zeeb was not a one man band contrary to some people's views on here and he didn't have to amke an enemy of himself by doing things he did.

  • @nydh7777 Personally I don't think it's for you to say whether or not it is. Is it a sell-out effort? No. Does it have a new vocalist? Yes. Was Zeeb the main member of WFG? Did he write the songs? Or was Phil the nucleus and creative force in the force? If you do not like an album, that's okay - But to say it's "not Witchfidner General" is really arrogant. It's his band, he can do what he wants with it, it's up to everyone else to buy it.

That all being said, I thought the new album was okay.

  • @nydh7777 - That album is not Witchfinder General at all. Zeeb Parkes WAS Witchfinder General.

  • @TheBeastslayer, Tony Iommi did the same thing with Sabbath in the mid-late 80's. He milked the Sabbath name so bad they should have been called The Milkmen.

  • @TIMOTHYSAARINEN Yeah but Tony Iommi didn't break the band up after 2 albums and then come back 25 YEARS LATER with a new singer.

  • @TheBeastslayer just behind Mr Iommi :-) great band though!

  • @TheBeastslayer Oh, come on dude. You can't say Phil's greater than Tony Iommi.

  • @BernardoBrasiliense no tony no phil simple

  • Sweet song.

  • The riff almosts sounds like Aqualung at the beginning lol

  • Yeah sort of!

  • lmao sitting on the park bench

  • Great riffchange

  • Great Band
