@TheSYNTHOID Oh, this is an oldie video! I love ObLost for the most part (and am still using it to make videos after all these years), but I still can't get over the magazine capacity thing (like 30 rounds in a 10-round mag).
And as for weapon clipping, Tripwire is implementing it in RO: Heroes of Stalingrad. The gun in your character's hand will react accoding the obstacles. For example, if you stick the gun's barrel out by a window, it will get stuck if you move the barrel against the window's frame, and if you continue on moving the weapon your character will pull it to his chest. This also mean that you can't aim or even fire/use your weapon if you are kissing a wall since there's no space for doing anything.
Not not be rude but, one thing: edit the config file of the vintorez if you don't feel right with its defeault mag capacity. I agree with the weapons damage part thou. What I would love to see on a realistic wise FPS is gun heating. Some guns heat faster than others, and it could be cool if when your gun gets hot enough, it will stop firing until you let it could cool down, and you can accelerate this process by throwing the gun in a water poodle, or change the barrel.
I'm not trying to pick on Kanyhalos or OLP. I always try to make that clear. I beat up on Valve to0 even though I generally love their games. They (and GSC) have set the standard so high that I can't help but feel somewhat violated when my expectations aren't meant. Maybe my expectations are unrealistic (typical for an INTJ).
You know, one of these days I am just going to buy a bunch of game making books on LUA, C++, and 3ds Max7 and make a bloody mod for stalker, designed specifically for people like us...
Hrm, not too far off. I'd rather consider myself the philosophical audiophile, who has an obsession with military equipment, and special place in my heart for violent video games. >:)
@IggyHazard You , and me, aren't the only ones, don't worry. Just pay a visit to Tripwire interactive (Killing Floor, Red Orchestra) forums. The users, and fanbase, are as obsessed with the little details on the gameplay as we do. They want their favourite game as authentic as possible. The upcoming Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad is really promising. RO: Ostfront is, for example, the only FPS in where you have to manually cycle a new round in a bolt action rifle by pressing fire again.
I've noticed that too when it comes to the same cartridges. That is really annoying, and I can understand if it could do a little more damage if the gun has better accuracy. Also, magazine capacities bother me alot too.
Ah, a S.T.A.L.K.E.R., eh? XD Yeah, I criticize it because I love the game and would love it more if they paid more attention to detail. If I didn't like the game, I'd be like "bleh, who cares" and would simply make fun of it instead of critiquing it.
Lol nice to see you did indeed download OL Iggy! 1:13 - 1:23 yeah same here, i thought it would be the ultimate experience too. When it came out, it was great, however, i felt it lacked *some* openendedness/content that i expected it to have, especially with such a long development. (i expected oblivion with guns lol) Thankfully the large mods i've played (like OL) fixed that to a degree, even though the mods have some issues.
I with bandages still provided a little healing. It's lame that you have to waste medkits so often. You have to carry at least 20 if you hope to survive for any length of time. I usually carry about 40 medkits and 50 bandages. Since they bo0sted your carry capacity from 50 to 80kg, you can afford to carry an extra weapon, plus extra ammo, plus extra medkits/bandages/antirads with no problem. Also, since artifacts no longer repair your suit, you don't need carry Batteries/Shells/Pellicles/etc.
Man, I was never really nuts about Oblivion Lost..... I'm more into the LURK mod. 1.1 is pretty damn good!

Just remember, Kanyhalos is just one guy, didn't make the guns, and doesn't spend his life around guns like we do! :)
