We should not forget, what this mama Stand for. She stood for nature, her people, and Africa. She was killed bcus she was about winning the European on her reparations case. She is not alone, Abiola of the yoruba people in west Africa, Malcom X in America and many other unknown ancestors were all killed bcus they demanded for reparation.
If you truly an African and love Africa carry this message everyday in your heart.
Mama Wangari Maathai, lives forever and bring your killers to their ruin..
I totally agree with you mr1 peace! This woman was indeed supposed to be the president of kenya! But just like all human beings, WE NEVER APPRECIATE WHAT WE HAVE UNTIL WE HAVE LOST IT! ..........Rest in eternal peace great leader!
VOTE POWER?so kenyan have high quality people who they can vote for president position. someone who represent all and fight for all.oh i 4got Kenyanheld back by a curse their eyes closed to people of positive influence but open to rubish leaders who only in most cases represent their tribes only. so tell me when you will ever bring change KENYA.kenyans are 2 blame 4 all their misery because if this woman wasnt worthy your votes then shutup and enjoy uhuru, kibaki, raila and rest of selfish leaders
En cualquier idioma los heroes también son nuestros y los honramos a distancia. Una distancia que para mi es una gran cercania ancestral. Gracias Wangari.
I bought her book before I came to the States to read on the flight and most importantly as a symbol that I would stay committed to my roots and make sure I go back home to actualize my dream in Kenya before anywhere else. This dream hasn't died and I have 8 months to go now. It's sad she won't be there physically when I come back but her spirit will live in me forever.
ITS ABOUT TIME WE AFRICANS, BOTH HOME AND DIASPORA HONORED THE REAL CHAMPIONS OF AFRICA. It is the kind of courage of Wangari had that brought dignity to people of Africa. R.I.P
The world has lost a leader who can never be replaced! kenya, east africa, the continent of africa and indeed the whole world is now a much poorer place at the passing away of this tremendously courageous and charismatic, intelligent and talented caring leader! may your soul rest in eternal peace wangari maathai! till we meet again, may the good seeds of your hard work germinate and grow into mighty oaks in honour of your memories.
Thank you mama... we still have Uhuru Park intact as a public area and not under private developers. I love the way you fought against Moi's and other greedy people's selfish agendas. R.I.P.
@siasabora Her whole life has been abt struggle, from her young age to her marriage, to her conservation work. I bet she did give the cancer a good fight too but in the end, she had to bow out and may she rest in peace. I will miss her smile
@K even the trees recognized Wangari as their passionate defender...isn't sad her own constituency village and certain political class shunned this fearless icon?
What wrong did we Kenyans do to God that He takes away those who work hard to make our lives better, and leave us with the myriads of tribalists and fools who complicate our lives?
To the end professor you were "UNBOWED" may God bless your mempry.
This is one of the greatest loss in our nation!..what a heroine!..what a warrior!...a fighter!..a fearless mama! Rest In Peace Mama!..the world will greatly miss you!..you inspired many especially the women!...there is just alot of good things to talk about you!
those politicans who were against Mau forest conservation should NOT be allowed to attend her funeral or allowed to speak at the funeral eg Ruto, kalonzo and gang..
