This topic comes up every year..nobody is ever happy with the fans voting but thats the way its been and thats the way its going to be because its an "ALL STAR GAME" its for the FANS and its what the fans want to SEE!!!!!!!! as for jalens point if the player is good enough hes going to be chosen by the coaches...i totally disagree with jalen...and this happened before when grant hill got injured and still made the all star game like the following 3 years..

I couldn't agree more...

Tracy Mcgrady is voted in as a starter for the All Star game. Well, as of right now, he is averaging 3 points and 1 assist a game and played only two games thus far. Now this....is a crime.

Meanwhile, players like Deron Williams, who is having arguably the best year amon point guards has never been voted in and is behind Mcgrady and....ZACH RANDOLPH...he is averaging nearly 20 and 10 and he is not even on the ballot!

Tracy Mcgrady has been going to the All-Star game base off his previous years of dunk contest and highlights. His ass shouldn't even be on the ballet. Plus the games arent even competitive until the 4th quarter anyway. The games are wack! The NBA should not let the fans vote. The players and coaches should vote.

Fans should get to vote for the starters, because its what we want to see, a game filled with our favorite players.

All-Star weekend was meant to reward the fans anyway. Some guys are more fun to watch than others, you know that too.

Coaches get to fill out the rest of the roster, so it gives player a chance to make it too. Shaq got a lot of playing time last year, and he wasn't a starter too, so any player can get their minutes too.

2. the fans only vote the starters, so they don't have 100% control on the system in the first place. The coaches pick the rest.

So yeah i think that people that have the knowledge of the game(journalists and others) should have at least 50% of the votes. Last's years all star was decent,i hope the make it better this year.
