North Carolina is going to be nearly impossible to win for Obama.  There's simply too many military stations: Ft Bragg, Camp Legune, Sunny Point, Cherry Point, Johnstone AFB, etc.

This is a traditional GOP state and is populated with throngs of current and former military personal.

For McCain to loose it would take a miracle.

Georgia on the other hand is a land of pot smoking, drug running crazies...if Obama can beat the racism he'd have a chance.

Every poll since the end of the primaries has put Obama within 4 points in North Carolina, and that's substantially better than he's doing in Georgia.

I would remind you that Polls showed Kerry within 2 points of Bush in 2004 the day before the election and yet Bush won 56% of the votes, despite the fact that the democratic VP nominee (Edwards) is a native son.

Carolina has only voted DNC once since 1968 when it voted for a son of the south from Georgia (Carter).

Georgia has voted DNC 3 times since 68 and independent 1 since 68.

I confess to working on the McCain campaign and being a member of the GOP. That said, I'm also an avid fan of politics and history and you'll find that despite what I do, my bias is rather toned down.

In this particular instance simple facts and history support my conclusion.

I think Georgia is a perfectly reasonable state to go after for Obama, but Carolina is simply unimaginable. If Obama wins Carolina I'd do a video in the nude...its not gonna happen.

Biggest? I know you don't mean biggest sample size because the Rasmussen poll of the same period asked 400 more people than Gallup and posted Obama +4. Scott Rasmussen, by the way, a Republican.
