Suddenly, hippo? Thanks for this Frank, since the AVGN showed this in his video I've been wondering about it. Tell me, does the game come on two disks to get all of that voice data in the game? That's a lot of sound for such an early title.

@MagikGimp It came on tape and disc formats. Tape version doesn't have the intro at all. For the disc version it came on two discs, the intro is on one and the game on the other.

@MagikGimp Or maybe even one disk with two sides. A version I found today told me to turn the disk to side B for the intro.

@beatchef Thought as much, thanks. It's quite funny when you think about it today. I've seen systems that use 3.5" floppies (can't turn them over) and there's a whole disk for the intro; I guess they were as cheap as CDs are now back then.

The version I have is 'less' annoying than yours, at the beginning of mine you choose your favourite autobot and you only see the transforming animation for that one. Everybody else just rolls out with no animation, makes things a lot nippier.

Frank... I played this game as a child... It actually *is* possible to defeat the plan of the Decepticons. It is INSANELY hard to do though. Literally you can drag the game out long enough and prevent the Decepticons from getting the Hippo. They can't win without it. It involves running the timer out and it is HAAAAAAARRRRRRRD it requires supreme accuracy and timing at both the nuclear plant and the zoo though.

@theoneandonly6969 The only end screens I know of are very, very minor variations on the one I got with slightly different titles and medals. I've see two of them, the one in this video and one with a 'Energy Protectorate First Class' award or some such.

Fun Fact: Before the speedup, there was 32 minutes in game footage. Other fun fact: Before cutting out the load times between scenes, the intro was at least twice as long, possibly three times.

Kup is pronounced cup. At least I think that is who you were refering to when you said coop.

Also Hot rod and optimus prime can be around at the same time, but not hot rod and rodimus. Only without the matrix does rodimus turn back to hot rod.

Awesome play through, though. First time I've ever seen this game. Bonus mega points for 'The Touch'.  They did a pretty good job with the transformations, given the limitations of the times.

@keithhemari In all honesty I don't really remember much of my Transformers G1 level lore outside of the Rodimus + Hot Rod impossibility.
