  • Hi,tremendous playing, you've nailed it! I'm trying to learn these ventures tunes.I can figure out most of what you're playing, but still miss a few notes.Any advise? Do you know of any tab or notation for these songs? It would be greatly appreciated,An admirer...

  • Sounds great and very educational.

  • Great stuff. Well done.

  • Great playing! Keep up the good work and I hope U put together a band soon as you will indeed give people a good sound they will love to hear.I love to see young people apply themselves musically. I was a coronet, baritone and trumpet player/teacher. Peace !

  • amazing

  • Great. Playing bass in a surf band can be fun to, not just the lead guitar :)

  • awesome playing! dude, could you tell me more about your fender bass? year and type of pick-ups? how's the low"E" sound? that thing sounds amazing!

  • @adebicki Thanks for your comment man. My P bass is actually pieced together from different parts with a Fender Mex Body. The pickups I have are Fender Vintage Reissue pickups.

  • @picure hi. thanks for the reply, funny you mention a mex body, i picked up a used fender mex p-bass & man, you can tell the sound was there in the body for sure (it just needed new pups, too thin sounding; it needed good pups, like yours). it was $145 bucks, i went back to buy next day, GONE! yes, the mex bodies are awesome!

last question, i'm buying those pups, but how's the low "E"? is it volume/tonally balanced w/ the rest of the open strings?(sometimes "A"string is hotter than rest).

  • En hora buena, felicitaciones!!! Hi my friend, it's just wonderful the tune that you have, soft and clean, become our friend...

  • Great Job. Smooth..

  • nice bass work!!!

  • Nice job!

  • Brilliant - keep up the good work

  • Excellent - often wondered where the runs come from

  • Fantastic !!!

  • Excelent Brother.Thank you for keeping GOOD music alive.

  • Nice round tone you're getting out of that Jazz Bass. Slaughter is not an easy song to play (several modulations) -- you nailed it. Although I never use a guitar pick for bass, it does have a couple of advantages (clarity being one of them). You're a good player -- keep it low, brother.

  • This is so cool. Great job. You definitely enhance the song.

  • Wonderful! Regards from the Netherlands

  • WOW Excellent, tone, technique everything. Should be in the rule book of pickstyle bass playing.

  • Nice work!

  • Nice to see some good playing for a change. U tube has a lot of sub mediocre playing; this was good.

  • fucking love it

  • Nice Job!

  • "On Your Toes" was from 1936, not '63

  • good job! this is a classic ventures tune, keep up the good work.

  • すごいですね!!

    参考になりました!!!

    ありがとうございますm(_ _)m

  • Hi

Can you please cover Lady in Red by Chris deBurgh. I think there are some good bass lines and I want to learn it as well.

    Thanks

  • Wonderful! I'm watching this over and over again. It sounds so sweeeeet!

  • Not bass or guitar players, but everyone else yes!

  • Excellent!! Great job indeed!! You really go swinging!!

  • where r u located I am hiring you for my new bass player.

  • Dammit. Only a year ago I was still in Boston. But now Im living back in Taiwan. Im having trouble starting my own surf band here too. ~_~

    Thanks!

  • Very nice, gj! This is the best music for the BASS! B.A.S.S=Bad Ass Super Star!

  • sooo excited at 00:26 !

  • you're sooo cool ! im so touched !

  • Tres bien.

  • damn cool~!! wonderful,great tone,groove...keep surf buddy~~!!

  • hey can u email the tabs for this plaease?

  • Why would you need the tabs? You can clearly see & hear what he's playing. And why assume that he used tabs himself?

  • Well he could tab it for him, but I think we bassist should be able to come up with these things ourselves, just by listening.

Great playing btw, another pick player. :)

  • Surf music? No, that's rock n' roll baby! Great rendition man!

  • Excellent!! I love to play my bass to surf music, and that was more complex than I thought it was. I'm gonna go practice. Post more if you can.

  • Actually, I didnt play the exactly the way Bob Bogle did.

    Thanks Alot!

  • This is excellent. Do you play any other Ventures tunes? Do you play w/a band?

    Walt

  • I had a surf band before. Ive been thinking about reviving it lately.

  • You should revive it. Where do you live?

  • Boston Mass. Hahah, now you might have an idea why it died in the first place. :)

  • I never understand why people think the East Coast isn't surfy. Have you ever been to the OBX, Virginia Beach, or South Carolina, surf isn't confined to South California, it can be anywhere, especially w/ a beach.

  • You are REALLY GOOD

  • nadie comenta porque todos estamos dolidos de que no nos des tutoriales de teclado
