Hi,tremendous playing, you've nailed it! I'm trying to learn these ventures tunes.I can figure out most of what you're playing, but still miss a few notes.Any advise? Do you know of any tab or notation for these songs? It would be greatly appreciated,An admirer...
Great playing! Keep up the good work and I hope U put together a band soon as you will indeed give people a good sound they will love to hear.I love to see young people apply themselves musically. I was a coronet, baritone and trumpet player/teacher. Peace !
@adebicki Thanks for your comment man. My P bass is actually pieced together from different parts with a Fender Mex Body. The pickups I have are Fender Vintage Reissue pickups.
@picure hi. thanks for the reply, funny you mention a mex body, i picked up a used fender mex p-bass & man, you can tell the sound was there in the body for sure (it just needed new pups, too thin sounding; it needed good pups, like yours). it was $145 bucks, i went back to buy next day, GONE! yes, the mex bodies are awesome!
last question, i'm buying those pups, but how's the low "E"? is it volume/tonally balanced w/ the rest of the open strings?(sometimes "A"string is hotter than rest).
Nice round tone you're getting out of that Jazz Bass. Slaughter is not an easy song to play (several modulations) -- you nailed it. Although I never use a guitar pick for bass, it does have a couple of advantages (clarity being one of them). You're a good player -- keep it low, brother.
I never understand why people think the East Coast isn't surfy. Have you ever been to the OBX, Virginia Beach, or South Carolina, surf isn't confined to South California, it can be anywhere, especially w/ a beach.

hey can u email the tabs for this plaease?
posloser 3 years ago
Why would you need the tabs? You can clearly see & hear what he's playing. And why assume that he used tabs himself?
MajorImpact 3 years ago
Well he could tab it for him, but I think we bassist should be able to come up with these things ourselves, just by listening.
Great playing btw, another pick player. :)

I had a surf band before. Ive been thinking about reviving it lately.

You should revive it. Where do you live?
wstagner 4 years ago
Boston Mass. Hahah, now you might have an idea why it died in the first place. :)
