What's up with all this Tom love? Craig wanted to turn Screwattack into a legit business, and Tom didn't buy into it. Craig gave him a chance to change his mind and come around, then after Tom continued to show a lack of caring Craig ultimately gave him an ultimatum, start pulling your weight or go. Tom opted for the latter and left. Craig didn't screw Tom over. Tom screwed himself.

He asked Craig to help him out and they became partners. One day Craig went behind Toms back and went and got screwattack copyrighted so he was 100% owner. Tom told Craig it wasn't fair of him and asked him to give him his share so they could be equal partners. Craig loved the power and said no. So Tom left.

Just get this, I don't believe Tom, because he has every reason to lie to save his reputation. I believe ScrewAttack because they have no reason to lie, they were already going to lose Tom's fans, why spare their feelings?

Craig gave Tom the chance to get in on it, Craig was neither 100%, he would be if Tom backed out like he did, but if Tom decided to pull his weight he'd give him his equal share. Tom said no, he left because he didn't like not getting 100% without giving 100%.

You can ask anyone on ScrewAttack if they said they screwed Tom, most would say they don't care, but if Tom said he left from laziness and not wanting to work, that'd raise a few flags on his character.

Take a closer look. It's usually easy to tell bad controls from bad player ability, I think.

And, if that doesn't do it, picture this: Up to jump, crouch+item to enter menu, and CD-i controllers tend to be vertical, rather than suitable for any type of actual game playing.

But up to jump, down + item to access menu seems pretty strait forward.

I've played games with those control schemes.

Players just need to adapt to different controls.

Again, though, part of the problem is that you usually have to play with an unsuitable controller. Kinda like playing Super Mario 64 with that flight simulation controller. And SM64 had good, tight controls.

In addition, hate to say it, but adapting to bad controls is just not done by most :|. People usually want to be able to "pick up and play", which is a bit part of the issue here. And, control schemes are only one part of control quality; responsiveness is a big, albeit subtle, issue also.

If you think about it, Link: Faces of Evil is the most advanced Zelda game. It has full voice acting, animated cutscenes and a main character with more personality than the other Links.

It sucks, but I think it deserves credit for what Nintendo doesn't do.
