  • Nice job recording this with a potato.

  • If I had 1 dollar for every pixel in this video...I'd have 1 dollar.

  • A friend of mine hit a tree at 95mph

  • @iToKeGraDe Bet he aint your friend anymore eh?

  • @addemufc indeed haha

  • From the text: "This Swedish video shows what can happen at just 40 miles per hour, or 70 kilometres per hour"

No. 43.47 miles per hour. A 40 mph crash would have resulted in 15% less damage, since the crash energy would have been 15% less.

  • @hitssquad not really. 15% less speed doesnt equate to 15% less damage, the maths behind it are quite complicated.

  • @MrGusman200 "15% less speed doesnt equate to 15% less damage"

That's right. The speed difference has to be *squared* to get the energy difference. 40 mph isn't 15% less than 43.47 mph. It's 7.89% less.

That's why 15% less speed would actually equate to 32.25% less damage.

  • They reinforced the tree with a metal structure.. making the test a complete nonsense.

  • How"d they get the tree to do 40 mph?

  • @greenjeansmjr you move the earth, the car stays still.

  • @greenjeansmjr they pulled it with a white wall...

  • @greenjeansmjr I got one to do 115mph once, not easy, but I did it!

  • @looncraz Impressive!

  • was this filmed with a hairdryer

  • @jean1marc LOL

  • @jean1marc If so, that's a sweet hairdryer!

  • If the car didn't have the engine it would be a lot higher at the front. @0.06 both the front and rear of the car are the same height. Upon impact the engine may have been pushed to the right by the tree as the point of impact is off centre and level with the inside of the headlight.

  • that car definitely had no engine, so bullshit

  • I dont think that car had an engine lol

  • I ran into a tree at 55mph and my car didn't look that bad.

  • Anyway, 40mph is 64kph, not 70.

  • is the tree alright

  • Okay...

    1) Its not 40mph... Its 70 Mph... Crash tests are always Done in MPH as it is the standard Velocity reading.

    2) The Damage to the vehicle is far too severe to be 40mph

    3) You can tell by the Normal version, that the car is travelling well faster than 40mph

    4) The Siren you hear is Sounded when a crash test is about to be tested at 60 Or Over MPH... because of the Ricochet.

    5) I Work for Euro NCAP.. Dont try and prove me wrong.

  • @MarkMck1994

    1) Wrong!

    2) Wrong!

    3) So wrong!

    4) No!

    5) You don't, jackass.

Just kidding :) hehe. Have a nice day.

  • @MarkMck1994 in sweden they do in kph. not in mph.

  • @fmyboki892 It Does not matter. I Can tell you for fact that car was going about 70mph (112kph) far too fast to be 40.

  • @MarkMck1994 how can u 'tell' that?

  • @carndrifter I work For EURO NCAP. If you don't know what that is, it stands for European New Car Assessment Programme, all cars in Europe are tested by us frequently. No Car can go on production without our consent. We Test about one car everyday, and those tests include, Roll-over, Side Impact, Rear Impact, Pole/ Tree Impact and Multi Car Impact, Which is Hitting car .barrier at front with another car / barrier hitting its rear.

  • @MarkMck1994 Thats a nice story!! But that doesnt mean u can 'tell' how fast that car was going!!

  • @carndrifter Well it does really considering I see cars getting tested at 40Mph many times in a week, you begin to be able to see if the car was going over speed, and how fast it enters the cameras eye. If you have been driving for a while you would be able to see what I am talking about.

  • @MarkMck1994 if i have been driving for a wile? ha ha ive been driving for years mate! and whats to say the video wasnt speed up oe slowed down?? why cant people on this not accept it is what it is and has to post shit like you saying its not

  • @MarkMck1994 how can you work for ncap if yor only 16 or 17 years old. stop being stubern. it was at40mp/h because if you look at the 55 and 70 mph crash. yu can clearly see the damage is worse. and im sure your smart enough t see that afterall you do work for "NCAP"

  • the tree didnt do a thing :3 but the vehicle did plow into the tree and get wrecked :3

  • uumm....That's ford sierra.

It's old car, that's why it did perform crash badly.

  • Outstanding quality. 1/5 for you.
