Sweden is the only country to have today 5 operational true stelth ships.

And our submarines are top of the line (stelth).

Visby is based on submarine thinking in many ways to get stelth in all aspects.

Visby is too small, under-armed, short legged, and almost blind while the Gotland is too slow and short legged for a global navy.

So you are cruising at 45 mph, exposed in the sea, maneuver restricted by shore. From the shore the enemy fires off 20 Khrizantema anti-tank missiles at a very close range. The Khrizantema is super sonic, has a range of several miles , and it's predecessor has knocked out Abrams, Merkava, and Bradley armor, Considering that the Abrams is better armored, smaller and faster than the LCS what do you do? I don't know about the other designs, but at least USS Freedom has lighter armament than the bigger ships (no VLS or torpedoes for example).

Swedish Visby, anyone? Americans are more experience in big blue water warfare, while Swedes are masters of littoral warfare; they were/are Vikings, for Pete's sake :)

Visby is quite a lot smaller (650 tons vs. 3089 tons for USS Freedom) and a bit slower (40+ kn vs. 47 kn). It has also less armament and, well, it's not American, so the people would probably disagree since all other ships have been built in the States.

Personally I prefer Hamina-class over Visbys since they have nearly the same firepower (four SSM instead of eight) but are quite a lot smaller.

The Swedes are at least 10 years ahead of the US when it comes to stealth littoral combat ships. Anyhow I did spot some Swedish tech onboard the LCS 2: A Bofors Gun and a 3D Radar from Saab Microwave Systems.
