This is a classic. Horror movies are usually a joke, because its just cheap scares and blood and guts. This builds the suspense, and its just plain fucked. For a movie that came out in like 1970, I cant imagine the reports it got back in the day lol.

Our generation isn't scared of anything anymore because we're more prone to these things. We see gore and violence all the time in our videogames and modern horror movies. But back in 1973, The Exorcist was the first movie to incorporate an exorcism or the devil for that matter onto the big screen. People were more "innocent" back then and it scared the crap out of them. So if your saying that, "this is the greatest comedy ever" or "It aint scary," Your full of bullshit.

I saw The Exorcist for the first time this weekend and I consider it the greatest horror of all time because it's downright spooky, even with all th eblood and guts I've seen. This is how horror is supposed to be done, spooky atmosphere, making you look both ways after you see it. No beheadings or knives through eyes like current slasher flicks.

I had that bastard Pazuzu in my room next to my motion Regan in bed diorama. It was a small pewter statue I bought. The first night I awoke with something horrid standing over my bed. For a year I would sense a very evil dark presence in my room. Last week I went to bed and as soon as I closed my eyes I saw a vision of Pazuzu. Man forget this , I said, and Pazuzu went into the trash. My room seems alot clearer now. That fucking bastard.

great movie...watched it last night alone...doesn't scare me but it is so well made...and has such a background story I would love to get to know. The other films were a disappointment...I wish someone would make the simplicity of this and make a new one. Innocence is the key.
