Audi does not copy BMW at all. The cars may come from Germany, but the similarities ar small. The cars look nothing alike. Audi is all wheel drive compared to rear wheel drive BMW's ( The all wheel drive BMW's can't even compete). As for BMW making more horsepower with a 3.2, the Audi S4 makes 333 hp with a 3.0 supercharged engine, betther than the E46 (0-60 in 4.6 seconds, better braking times, etc..) This engine is also available in the S5.
@martyg7 The 4.2 is for eight cylinder fans that were screaming for this option. The new RS5 also betters the E90 BMW in every category and does it without sliding around. The RS5 retains complete control on a two lane road with traffic, I would rather be able to use full power and stay in my lane instead of constantly sliding to keep up with the Audi. I can also drive the Audi during winter and make it to a ski lodge to do some snowboarding.

I own a B5 S4 Cab and I have to say the interior quality is incredible in terms of comfort and material quality, and it far outclasses every BMW I have driven, from the 335i to the M3. As for performance, I can safely say that I can at least match if not outperform most pre-2005 M3's and lower models.

You are a dumba**. Go look at the Top Gear comparo. M3 won in every category. M3 lapped the race track 5 seconds faster than the RS4 when being driven by Stig both times. M3 has a far better weight distribution (50/50) compared to the RS4 (60/40 nose heavy). That is why RS4 understeers like a b*tch. It is the M3 that has a far faster cornering speeds. AWD causes more powertrain loss. That is why RS4 puts down 3 17 WHP to the wheels and M3 puts down 372 WHP. Go compare the dynos.
The reason why M3's wheel are smoking is because the M3 driver is making the M3 drift by holding the gas pedal down and kicking the tail out on purpose. If the M3 was doing a true race lap, it will have a far more cornering speeds while staying composed than the nose-heavy RS4.
I've driven an RS4 around a track, this is where I get my information from. All 4WD (and frontwheel drive) vehicles tend to have oversteer because of the front wheel traction.

Those cars are lightweight because they have ugly tin can interiors with no luxury meanwhile the RS4 has more luxuries and quality matierals than even upscale jap luxury cars, dumbass. Audi interiors are simply the best and Quattro technology shits all over the EVO. Not to mention this RS4 is already several years old the newer Audis come with 40:60 rear biased Quattro and more balanced suspension, it will eat everything that get's in it's way.

i would say these 2 cars are about the same. It all donw to personal preference, and i personally prefer the RS4 because of the quattro and its stablilty around corners. i mean, you wouldnt want to drift on public roads like the BMW.

Triplayer, I do Like *both* cars. BMW's interior *is not* cheap. BMW is known for being one of the most luxurious cars in the world. I think Audi's are *great* quality and beautiful. BUT, I prefer BMW and their manufacturing. They handle better. You must have seen someone who didn't take care of their BMW to think the inside is cheap. Which can be said for any car that hasn't been taken car of. Bottom line I like both a lot, I just prefer BMW.

You are a dumba**. Go look at the Top Gear comparo. M3 won in every category. M3 lapped the race track 5 seconds faster than the RS4 when being driven by Stig both times. M3 has a far better weight distribution (50/50) compared to the RS4 (60/40 nose heavy). That is why RS4 understeers like a b*tch. It is the M3 that has a far faster cornering speeds. AWD causes more powertrain loss. That is why RS4 puts down 3 17 WHP to the wheels and M3 puts down 372 WHP. Go compare the dynos.

The reason why M3's wheel are smoking is because the M3 driver is making the M3 drift by holding the gas pedal down and kicking the tail out on purpose. If the M3 was doing a true race lap, it will have a far more cornering speeds while staying composed than the nose-heavy RS4.

I've driven an RS4 around a track, this is where I get my information from. All 4WD (and frontwheel drive) vehicles tend to have oversteer because of the front wheel traction.

You mean UNDERSTEER? And not all AWD cars have UNDERSTEER btw. Mitsu EVO do not have substantial understeer buddy. Secondly, I have an B6 S4, and it's understeer is manageable. But, the RS4 has the DRC sports suspension which does an outstanding job counteracting natural habit. Personally, I think you're full of shit, but that's on you, not me.

Regardless of technology, the Audi understeers at highspeed turns, Mitsubishi EVOs don't as much mainly because of the their lightweight, it is also much closer to a rallye car than any street audi will ever be.

Those cars are lightweight because they have ugly tin can interiors with no luxury meanwhile the RS4 has more luxuries and quality matierals than even upscale jap luxury cars, dumbass. Audi interiors are simply the best and Quattro technology shits all over the EVO. Not to mention this RS4 is already several years old the newer Audis come with 40:60 rear biased Quattro and more balanced suspension, it will eat everything that get's in it's way.

When you comment about jap cars, it shows that you are biased. Audi's are good cars, but BECAUSE they concentrate so much on luxury, they won't compete. The last Audi I consired buying, was THE Audi Quattro Coupe 5cyl. Turbo.

i would say these 2 cars are about the same. It all donw to personal preference, and i personally prefer the RS4 because of the quattro and its stablilty around corners. i mean, you wouldnt want to drift on public roads like the BMW.

VW has made good on Lambo and Bugatti so i think they do have the knowhow on making the audi a better machine, and plus i wish they would just move that engine back and make the whole car balance better,
but my verdict is i would go for the audi. its got more presense and come winter you would still be kickin ass in snow

Let's see the BM on the way to the ski area or in the rain...? So the RS4 loses .1 on the 0-100. who cares, small price to pay for AWD, it's a much more complete car. They are both fast as a thai hooker. Aesthetics are personal but let's not pretend - neither are a porsche GT. If you think you sedan is fast, well, drive a porsche.

Thats a little closed minded. And I have read that the new car is better, it has just lost some of its youthful character. Nothing wrong with that though, because Audi's are not youthful. I love Audi's, I am looking at picking up an S4, but I currently own a BMW. Something you learn from driving a BMW is that its not all about HP. Its how its delivered and how it handles. The 335 coupe has been beating S4's in tests. Dont be so closed minded. Take a BMW for a test drive.

Triplayer, I do Like *both* cars. BMW's interior *is not* cheap. BMW is known for being one of the most luxurious cars in the world. I think Audi's are *great* quality and beautiful. BUT, I prefer BMW and their manufacturing. They handle better. You must have seen someone who didn't take care of their BMW to think the inside is cheap. Which can be said for any car that hasn't been taken car of. Bottom line I like both a lot, I just prefer BMW.
