First of all, I am a Christian, and I love this show. It's nice to see some common sense in the news. Now secondly, no, Christians don't find worshiping the earth witchcraft or anything like that, and most churches believe that you can directly pray to God, that's one of the reasons Jesus came to the earth. Churches don't require that you give them money, and that money is *supposed* to go towards funding the church as a whole. So yeah, we're not all bat crap crazy :)

The service didn't seem that outrageous in this instance. Most Christian teachings classify any alternative practices like worshipping the Earth, astrology, etc. as falling into the 'witchcraft' category. Most churches tremble at the thought of their parishioners being able to contact God for guidance without the church acting as 'agent' (and getting their financial percentage). I.D. is another control device - an attempt to replace scientific evidence in schools with religious hypothesis. Evolution is not completely random. It comes down to the survival of the fittest and gene inheritance. If a computer were to guess a one million letter long password by random it would never get there. However, that is not at all how evolution works.

You see, every time a mutation in occur that benefits a species ability to survive, it will pass on it's genes to a higher extent than less able ones. This can be compared to someone instructing the computer that a letter in the password is less or more correct than another letter. That makes it possible to break an otherwise impossible password.

On the contrary, it is naive not to believe in it. Mutations occur all the time, and we can actually observe some. Each human have some 200 mutations that determine the way we look. Bacteria can mutate and become immune to anti-biotics for example, and only in a few decades. Imagine what evolution can do in 4 billion years!

If life have to have been created by an intelligent designer, than that designer must have been created by an intelligent designer and so on. Everything we see in the universe have simple beginnings and can be explained by observable evidence. I.D. claims that everything have a complex beginning and can present no evidence. It's just another mad god hypothesis with no credible evidence whatsoever.

First of all, I am a Christian, and I love this show. It's nice to see some common sense in the news. Now secondly, no, Christians don't find worshiping the earth witchcraft or anything like that, and most churches believe that you can directly pray to God, that's one of the reasons Jesus came to the earth. Churches don't require that you give them money, and that money is *supposed* to go towards funding the church as a whole. So yeah, we're not all bat crap crazy :)

The service didn't seem that outrageous in this instance. Most Christian teachings classify any alternative practices like worshipping the Earth, astrology, etc. as falling into the 'witchcraft' category. Most churches tremble at the thought of their parishioners being able to contact God for guidance without the church acting as 'agent' (and getting their financial percentage). As far as that overseas business, that's just fanatical, I agree on that one.

Ok, I wonder if you realise that when applied in that context it must be able to be verified or disproven through repetition, hence scientific. "Curing" someone of homsexuality may only suppress an urge or it may be legitimate, surely only the one that has been "cured" is able to verify. I agree in a lot of cases, fear of religious expulsion is a major player and fear is no way to live.
