@trichromez Yes...because they're using real vinyl and not Traktor or Serato. As the video says, it's from 2000 so....11 years ago. Wow that is forever ago! How old are you? 12?
@2nah hahaha you obviously missed my sarcasm , look at the vids foo, i got my pdx 2000's plain a day to see, and 12? naw , im a 9 year old that can destroy you on the tables!
This comment is for CHEEZY DON SENIOR If u think this is not music or talent you must be mentally retarted, or just plain stupid as fuck. These professional turntablist take music of all genres and create innovative sounds that are appreciated by all types of music listeners, U said these guys should go to music school? Alot of them have studied music and instruments you arrogant fuck. I would love to for you to try to come close to doing anything this musically inclined. Faget!
these guys are engineers! they take your silly little instruments and show you pricks how they should really sound. why not go comment on summin you understand
Please! DJs make or break records there's almost no artist that make it if all the DJs decide to ignore their music, Who's pushing the music to masses at the nightclubs? That's right... The DJ. Who started this hip hop thing that has taken over for the past 30 years? The DJ! It's actually harder to learn how to do some of what he did than it is to learn any other instrument. I play the violin and DJ so best believe I know. What he's doing is like improvisational jazz, it takes skill and thought.
Maybe you should educate yourself about "real music". Give me one thing about a turntable that makes it not a instrument when used this way. I would like to see you do half of that HAH
a-trak, craze and klever were all in the allies, so of course they are all going to show each others style somewhat, but he is not biting off a-trak, in my opinion they are completly diff styles, same with craze...all diff styles, so klever did bring something unique to the table
Biting A-Trak and Craze? A-Trak after seeing Klever said himself that he needs to work on his scratching to add more speed. Klever was the very original with his juggling and cuts. That style had not been done prior by any one at that time. The sound he gets when he's does his chirps has not been replicated by anyone (that i've heard anyway)
saw him here in nashville not to long ago now hes all tatted up. here in 2000 hes got blank arms..haha.also his shirt is advertisin a great record shop called more dusty than digital..check it out
a lot of people have agreed that he came up off of using Craze's & A-Track's style, even though he is nasty with it -I just think the art has suffered enough from lack of originality, that's all.
i 100% agree, in the early 90's every dj sounded dif, i was able to tell them apart on the radio just by their style without hearing their name,.. now i wouldnt be able to tell the difference. only one that really stands out to me style wise now is mix master mike,.. his scratches are like his trade marks,..
def037: I think it's true that the further back you go, the easier it is to differentiate individual styles - but the fact that we now live in a media rich environment has allowed everyone to bite each other's style. That may be bad for individualism, but on the whole it's helping to elevate the whole art form and speed the evolution of turntablism.
I do too, thats why I wanted to watch this full routine so bad... but notice the setup is different from the movie... i think this is the regional/state and the one he did the BETTER version from scratch was probably the nationals
