Are there any Irish people left? Spent last summer touring- met more Eastern Europeans and Africans . Polish girls working in the shops and restaurants. It was rather a shock to see it so changed in 15 years. In some places it felt like I was back in NYC.
The cottages look lovely and we will certainly consider renting some for a family reunion next summer. We'll keep to the rural areas.
Hello from Ireland - still lots of Irish here to welcome you back ! As for the cottage - well thanks for your kind comments - it is (despite our bias!) idyllic. An Irish Times review said ' High in the Wicklow Mountains, just the most picture perfect example of a country home.It retains the 19th century cottage feel, but with all the comforts of a good home away from home.’
so do bear us in mind for a visit next summer -a warm welcome awaits - website at holidaywicklowcom
@vivaloriflamme what you are saying is very true i agree! but there are still some Irish people in Ireland I'm 100% Irish! and i live in Ireland along with all my family! we love it! but I'm sure someone coming here on a holiday expecting to see Irish people in Ireland get a big shock! its almost shocking to meet one Irish person in my home town! :( but if you look hard enough you will find some Irish people in Ireland... :)
Just back from a week in the Wicklow Hills. This place is just gorgeous although you'd need to be fit if plan cycling up all those hills.I never played so much poker at the kitchen table in my life! A great cottage if you feel the need to get away from it all.
