  • @camelotprincess Scarborough is a town in the NE of England, I know, I've been there, and yes it does have a Fair..

  • This is good - if I would have lived in thirteenth England and Wales I would no doubt be in Talley Abbey now then.

  • coole einschlafs music

  • One of my All time Faves.

    Never Heard this Group Before.

Probably Peter. Paul. And. Mary Before.

    1 Corinthians 13: 6-7

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

  • Love the music. Beautiful.

  • Muito linda essa musica.Não tem como a mente não viajar ouvindo um som desse.

  • as much as british people suck they have some fine music but most of it written by foreigners not living in england

  • @atfatw Wow, you sound like a right cock snogging spastic! Amazing!!! Truly amazing depth of retardedness crammed into such a short post. You are King Spasticus!

  • @lordblighty eat some pig poop the national delicacy of england you vile blighter!

  • @atfatw You really do have a hard time making the grade don't you!

As for pig poop, You simply aren't worthy of eating the shit out of a English pigs arse you backward and repugnant waste of humanity.

  • @atfatw Pure puerile poppycock! We British live in Great Britain PRECISELY because our blood is mixed and 'foreign'!! From the start the English wove a beautiful tapestry from all the best of that outside influence, absorbed it totally, and made it their very own; that has been emulated and envied over the entire planet! Remember the drunken Winston Churchill accused by a Socialist 'lady' in Parliament? "I maybe drunk madam, tomorrow I will be sober. But you are ugly today, and will be tomorrow!"

  • This is indescribably aweful, plagiarism upon a plagiarist's version by people who think it's cool to be cowled.

  • Nice version. The earliest known version of this song is 'The Elfin Knight', an old English folk song rediscovered & collected in the Southern Appalachians Aug. 24th 1917 by Cecil Sharpe & Maud Karpeles. Syphon & Garmunkel popularised the song, but not to its detriment. "The worst thing you can do to a song, is not play it."

  • Scarborough Fair was written and composed far, far before there was ever a Texas. You seriously need to rethink your comment about Scarborough Fair and Texas. I personally have nothing against Texas or Texans, but I do know my history as some other people seem to know who left comments, and Scarborough, England is a very old location in North Yorkshire on the east coast of England. Far older than any state or province in the USA or Canada.

  • assassin's creed 2 brotherhood..

  • This song is an anti war song, not about a fair. Listen to the words that r interwoven into the song. Thats what makes this song so brilliiant. It is beautiful n subtle which is what makes it so powerful. If u cant hear the interwoven lyrics properly google the lyrics for the song, i think u will b very surprised

  • @vinniecool123 It's not really but ok, you keep thinking that..

  • @vinniecool123 that's the wrong idea, but that's a great way to look at it.

  • Maybe your interpretation requires a lot of whatever you're chewing....

  • @vinniecool123

Yes, S&G's work, covered here, is an anti-war song, that they called "Scarborough Fair / Canticle."

But that was their blending of 2 songs, 1 being a re-purposing of an old folk-song that had nothing to do w/ war.

    Wikipedia:

"The song tells the tale of a young man, who tells the listener 2 ask his former lover 2 perform 4 him a series of impossible tasks, such as making him a shirt w/o a seam... adding that if she completes these tasks he will take her back."

  • Beauty song, awful picture. The monks are ugly

  • Coś pięknego;) Lata liceum mi się przypominają;)

  • This sounds like something you would hear in a church in Italy. I was in one, they were playing this kind of music, it was moving and peaceful. Amazing.

  • Hauntingly beautiful, gave me chills :o)

  • Yo solo le doy gracias a Dios por permitirme escuchar y deleitarme con tan linda cancion, gracias

  • The thing with Gregorian plainchant is that it's plainchat. It doesn't have instrumental accompaniment or harmonies.

  • Scarborough fair has to be one of the most serene songs of history

  • this is beautiful

  • 0 people didn't attend Scarborough Fair after hearing this incredible version!!!

    That's 100%, suckers!!!

  • @FruitabuX where is scarbrough fair held?

  • @camelotprincess In my glass towards the bottom :)

  • @camelotprincess Scarborough / North East England ( google map it .... :) )

  • @Elrohireros Yup, its there. I've been there. Once a year they have a gypsy horse fair there. A wonderful event. Thoroughly recommend it.

  • @camelotprincess

Scarborough is in North Yorkshire, which is in / towards North-East England. There are many versions of this song though, about numerous locations for 'fairs'.

  • @Larieva1 Highly unlikely seeing as the lyrics to the song were written at least 400 years before Scarborough Renaissance Fair was first put on in 1981.

  • @camelotprincess It is a Texas renaissance festival

  • I thought there wasn't a soul on the planet who didn't know this is an ancient tune from Britain. Texas!?? Is this a joke?

  • @Larieva1 "It is a Texas renaissance festival"...the words Texas and renaissance should never even appear in the same sentence let alone describe where scarborough fair is...maybe you're getting mixed up with that famous song "San Antonio Rodeo"?

  • @Larieva1 \a texas renaissance ?XD what do you celebrate, the discovery of slavery ?

  • @FruitabuX you had to open your mouth and jinx it XD now it has one so 99.8

  • too beautiful to b true
