These "experts" in the field have had no evidence yet about the effects, they've just based their opinion this whole time. They don't tell what their test results show because those results didn't go as they wanted it to, it had no effect on the child.

Shit the individual Missions are interactive versions of some of YOUR favorite action films.. (maybe). What are your parenting methods? Complain about the cause of your mistake? It says Violence, Drugs Use, Extreme Sexual Content... So why would you buy it for someone who isn't allowed in the Strip Club?

And the whole spin on how Video games influence a child's ability to discern reality from fiction? well that's purely debatable but i do think that it can play a small role with that child's state of mind, i think realistically some kids have the ability to know it's not okey to kill something in real life, and sadly; some kids don't know that difference. That may definitely be the tricky part, yet i still say don't risk it and be a good parent, keep them away from the medium .

The problem i see here is that the point is being made in the wrong way; i think it's unfair to blame the medium that may/or may not be the ultimate influence to a child's growth; for starters, a 15 year old shouldn't be playing M-rated games...i don't care if it's halo, it still says M17+ on the package. the real issue is constantly being clouded, parents are not doing their jobs; which is the simple prevention of a under-age obtaining these games. The aggressive attitudes of posters or gamers prove absolutely nothing in terms of causation. I'd much rather say that the fact that so many video games are violent is a reflection on the times than the other way around. Prestige and power is a thing of worship in society at large, that's just the way it is. My opinions is that criminals should be restricted from playing violent video games for a duration determined by their actions. I have little fear that games turn law abiding people rouge.

Ok I agree parents have a responsibility, so with that responsibilty comes necessary action. Personally as a parent I would ban this game. I realise though this would cause uproar amongst you well spoken people below and so find that the only solution is to minimise the violence in the games as it cant be denied that with age restrictions or not kids still are allowed to play games like this. Movies may be just as violent and then some, the difference is the participation. Repetative aggression.
