  • Oh, and the yodeling...HELLO!

  • Unreal. I saw the Stray Cat's when I was 19 in San Fransisco, and it was an unbelievable show. I could barely see over all the pompadours'. Amazing! I'm like, uh, I can play chords....

  • FANfuckinTASTIC!!!

  • hero!

  • he plays and sings like hes just has his pineal gland removed by dr.gonzo

  • Seen The Stray cats live 3 times..The Lyceum London early 80s was amazing.

  • Gotta love it!

  • Setzer is a Rockabilly God.

  • play rumble in brighton

  • this is the opposite of rare

  • I like his face at the end, it's like I'm smoking good and you all know it.

  • Great tune, E~ did it well. Brian rips it up!

    Thanks for posting

  • Wow. What a sound. But the talent is equally impressive.

  • Elvis is still the best...

  • @amj20007.....Elvis could sing and had the looks but musically......He was not a guitarist and he had his crew write the songs. Brian on the other hand is a musical genius and guitar legend.....can't really compare, although Elvis obviously had a bigger impact on music, pop culture and made a lot more money.

  • why not filming his left hand at 3:32 ? D:

  • @Zole4494 He did pretty much the same lick at 3:40. You can see the left hand there.

  • Gretch guitars. What a sound.

  • In what way is this "rare video"?

  • Wow! I've heard him do this song several times but never unaccompanied like this. He continues to inspire me. Man crush ha ha

  • Guitar-G-Great.

    Yodel-Yes.

    Voice Blend of Heaven Harmonies.

  • Guitarist Robin Trower once told me that he'd modeled 'Whiskey Train' (from the Procol Harum 'Home' album) after the Elvis version of this song, but I have yet to really see the connection between the 2.

  • @lloydpbhillips4020 Never name drop. Robert DeNiro told me that once.

  • Setzer is one of my favorite players since I was really little , I sure wish I would have kept my Aria fa-80 hollow body guitar , life hasn't been the same with out it :(

  • Wow! What a sound!

  • setzer has got to be one of the most underated guitarist in the world

  • @rhorton08 not really. he's very much appreciated. but i belive he is IS underrated in this area: as one of the best "all around / versatile" players on the scene....he is quite the talent

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Well, this video is not that rare...anymore;)

Thanx for reposting, people gotta see gems like this up close to really dig it!

  • I like I like..... great guitar player... Almost Velvet...

  • Wow! Just Wow.

  • Nearly as cool as Elvis' version...

  • Damn. :-)

  • 2 just missed the train.

  • I was lucky to be able to watch Brian and the Stray Cats live in Vancouver 1983!

Brian with his guitar and his raw vocal is definitely the cream of the band.

    Rock on Brian!!!

  • Likew this song so much...and his jodeling ;-)

  • Awesome, sounds like Junior parkers original, but obviuosly with setzers out of this world lead added to the mix.

  • He's got the most epic hair ever.

  • Awesome....

  • For me it was the beginning of the best singers,

He has a great voice and can play it very well!

you see him on the fun for him:)

  • now here's a genuine guitar hero! my god!, where did he get all those notes?! he makes it look like he does it on the fly. awesome.

  • @deadhands1981

On the fly.. no doubt he is there, he has done this song probably dozens of different ways. Music flows through him like water. That only happens when you are truly in the moment. His hand movements are unconscious and connected to his brain. True Zen.

  • I love that song

  • I have never seen so much raw talent in my life. Brian is Awesome!

  • Way too cool. This is my new favorite song... for a bit anyway. Highly talented Brian is

  • go cat go !!!!

  • with all the great stuff in this video, the best part is that unlike most guitar players that seem to get more respect, hes playin with a clean amp sound. thats the mark of being real good

  • Um dos maiores guitarristas de todos os tempos!!!!

  • He supercharged all those old kickass licks and smokes on them!!!!!

  • FUCK YEA!!

  • woa...

  • Por dios. que bien se escucha esto

  • C'est le meilleur du monde !

  • OMG! This man was born to play guitar. Always a crowd pleaser and he's in his own league.

    love you Brian!

  • Holy Crap!!! ...I play this style of music.... and people & even other musicians ask how I can play & sing @ the same time...they obviously haven't heard Brian do this stuff....I could just smack him...I love his F^$#!n' voice and taste on the guitar so much....how many hr's. in the day are there???? I gotta go practice........

    Brian Setzer= Butter!!!!..(smoothy-smooth!!!)

  • great voice!!

  • takes the piss hes that good!

  • yes the guy is just a great musician, guitarplayer and singer..knows his classics ..love this gretsch..

  • note he doesn't need to stare at guitar, when u feel and hear the music, his fingrs know where to go

  • is not an easy song to pick,he had to find the rythym

  • Makes me so happy!

  • I named my cat Setzer,I thought Brian was a weird name for a female cat :)

  • play mystery train,Brian!

  • Brian couldn't save gretsch...or billy g. those guitars were good, electric or not. like the es. It's the all around practice-play instrument. You can practice on it, & plug in, & it'll scream! It's been labeled as "country", so the rock kids don't think it's cool. It's another piece of genuine U.S. quality gone by the wayside for quantity. Unless the new owners push it as the "all in one" guitar. It would'nt hurt their sales! It should be a plus...use some new term like "crossover".

  • Damn, he can yodle too! Haha there's nothing like it!

  • thanks for this what a gem

  • broke a shoe and skinned a knee at one of there shows.....glad to have been part of the early days.....

  • brian setzer is the king of ROCKABILLY

    !!!!!!

  • @dark9660

    AFTER Scotty Moore...

  • very nice video, thx for posting it. i like Brian Setzer best when he plays solo

  • Thanks for posting this. JBTV is Jerry Bryant tv out of Chicago. I believe it is or was WCIU. JBTV also supports local bands.

  • He never ceases to amaze me. His playing is just so beautiful, so technical and artistic at the same time. I've been a fan since 1982.

  • That rapid changing between fingerpicking and flatpicking is awesome!

  • he sthe best! thank!

  • Blow some fresh air into an old song: leave that to Brian. While yodeling in between them gooddamm licks. That guy is always amazing.. A classic on his own already!

  • cool~~ Great song、awesome guitar!

  • Just does not get any better...What a sound ... Always blows me away everytime i hear it.

  • Thanx for this
