@diksterece Actually, Charice was only 16 as Oprah had this pre-oscar show in February, 2009. However, the video was uploaded in july, 2009. She sang 2 songs during the show. Charice turned 17 in May of that year.

Damn, I love this young ladies voice...Think about it. When is the last time you heard something positive about Whitney, Celine, or Mariah.....They all faded away.....I hope this doesnt happen to our young Idol. Let me clarify...I think her management is taking her in a BAD direction. Mr. Foster brought out the best in her..Now, whomever is managing her is taking her in a direction that will insure she just "fades away." Personal opinion only so dont get mad...She may profit and have "Star" status for a bit, but personally I think her "star" has faded somewhat since she left Mr. Foster's direction. She is the best i've ever heard. I hope it continues.

Ok, heres what I have to say, hate me if you wish...I WISH Charice would stick to the R&B...That is her true "voice." Ive seen some of her new stuff and some of it (not all) seems just too commercialized and just "not her." Just my opinion. I know she wants to appeal to the teenage audience, etc...but musically, I think and (she probably thinks too) that she should stick to her roots. I'm wondering about her management.....are they the best for her?

Emotion from music is subjective. At the very very end of the video as she turns and walks away...I just love that look that she gives someone....She seems to be saying "Nailed it." I noticed in her video with her performance with Celine when she hit that high note (singing the word you) after she paused she looked up at her mom and gave a grin that just says it all. She knew she nailed that one too and wanted her Mom to be proud of her.

@xbass02 One more thing...As a former professional musicin for 25 years and having participated in thousands of rehearsal with some very famous musicians, they become routine and actually boring...you just get the timing down etc....sure, everyone claps for the act after a reheasal song, but its routine.  part of the game. Live performances are fluid in that each audience makes you take a different direction musically. this crew was honestly astounded by her. was an OMG moment 4 em.

Wow, I never thought I would see this in my lifetime....There was Elvis and now there is Charice! Amazing!
