  • It's the USA vs. foreign terror networks!

  • hands down the best boss music of all time! you just can't top the epiness!

  • Covered core is my favourite Core!

  • this boss is also a yugioh card.

  • Vic Viper: IMA FIRING MA LAZOR

  • this seems more like a final boss theme than anything

  • TERROR IN A SHELL! RUN!

  • I Want To hear a Remix Of This It took me years to get out of the high speed demention to the boss rush

  • Speed Up!

  • This song is epically bad-ass!

  • the second boss, the crystal looking one has some badass music too

  • this makes me think a big fat guy is going to scroll on the screen and start firing missles at me lol!!!

  • Enemy Covered Core is approaching. Standby while it open the core.

  • I'm going to use this melody in one of my beats

  • my favorite theme out of the boss rushes

however this theme would be more fitting for an... invincible juggernaut that you cannot exactly fight quite yet. like some dreadful battle type music

  • めちゃくちゃカッコイイ! このスーファミオリジナル、何度聴いても良い!

  • epic

  • !@#!! its coming!!!

  • Giant Hamburger!

  • _Why doesn't the boss just keep 'covered' all the time FOR THE WIN?

_Heh. Because bosses are FOR THE LOSE.

  • Actually, if you pay attention to how the Covered Core Mk-I operates, its missile hatches can only open when its shielding is partially uncovered. If it constantly covered its shielding, its only option would be to ram the Vic Viper, and with its movement patterns, that's pretty impossible. By making itself vulnerable, it has slightly more of a chance of killing you, which is all it can ask for.

  • @ElecManX Agree with you about the operation but aren't ALL bosses vulnerable? :]] Plus, if the CC keeps itself covered all the time, isn't it just self-destructed after a while?

So being a boss of any game is so an unfortune because you will die anyway, no matter how you are 'covered'. About the 'killing you' part, if the player just got killed anyway, then the game is ridiculous :]]

  • The game was already ridiculous. This is Gradius III. And yeah, apparently Cores aren't very stable power supplies, so they eventually explode after too much use. Covered Core is a great idea in theory, but until the Bacterions create a core that doesn't time out, at the very least you can force an endurance match on every boss.

  • Yup, I know how you feel, those stupid rocks at the being of that stage, and that was the reason I started using the R. Type option.

  • Sounds a bit like Gofer's theme from Gradius II

  • So many missiles...!!!!!

  • Here comes the death star!.

  • Covered core oh god

  • The DEATH STAR boss!

  • COVERED CORE!

  • this song screams "Badass"!

  • One thing I 'hated' about this game is that, whenever you died, the awesome music used to stop abruptly, just when you were most enjoying it!

But no, that made me even more determined to win =P

  • no thats a good thing actually. it's the game makers saying "HA HA YOU DIED LOL. you dont deserve awesome music NOOB!!"

  • not saying that ur bad.

  • No no, that was my point too, it's like the game mocks the player

  • lol you know it ; )

  • I can remember this part of the game very well cause all I used to think of was the death star going crazy droping all those nukes.

  • nice boss theme!

  • That's right and the way that I beat this guy was just kept an eye on my ship throughout this boss.

  • by far my fav boss theme ^_^

  • Oh! I've heard this before!

  • i love this music .
