  • Great sog perhaps one of the best one s Calpton.

  • Love the song. Great live version, too. After listening a few times, I'm convinced the (excellent) drummer is Carmine Appice (Vanilla Fudge, Beck, Bogert & Appice, Cactus, Blue Murder, etc.) He's my favorite drummer. (Helps explain why I liked the drummer so much on the first couple listens.)

  • he never figured out the principle of the hook like that Eric. difference between himn and the beatles or nirvana or the pixies for example.

  • Epic tune but why only 9 smiles through out the whole video?? Moody Bastard. ps Rory Gallagher is far better!

  • TY for posting this. I've never heard this version. Just like the studio version, it' jammin, banged up, intense wall of sound. Damn!!!!!

    Great comment rockzhard.

  • worst song ever laid down fer drivin' 'specially if ya like fassst cars. 160+ half way thru it

  • who plays the first solo?

  • where can you get this bootleg?

  • @xavierslowhand

Its available - its not a bootleg, as such. Its the Crossroads Live in the 70's 4-CD box set!

  • @jjmc60 cheers man

  • this tune could run 20 minutes and it wouldn't get boring, totally infectious riff that shows off an incredibly tight band

  • @MWLUCKY

  • greatest riff that Clapton came up by himself.

  • This song kicks ass

  • heyliljoyfulnoise1989 go on tour for 7months at a time fool... for years at a time... wake the fuck up!!

  • GREAT!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for the share, Jules!

  • This is a little known classic, no one mentions this track.

It's allways Wonderfull tonight or Layla or some other very well known track, of which there are many, but this is one of my favorites, the hypnotic riff is what makes it so exiting.

  • @MITCHWILD So, so true.

  • great tune, even greater pic collage. WELL DONE

  • Yes...I have to agree...Marcy Levy is AMAZING on lead vocals

  • someone please tell me who the woman is onthis duet.have always...............like this song

  • Marcy Levy

  • HE HEEE had to RELEARN guitar SOBER! Still the Journeyman tho..

  • I saw him in 81 in Detroit. He was at a low point then, unable to play lead guitar. Still a great concert.

  • Holy cow! is that clapton at 1:38! he looks pretty bad there. HIs recovery from drugs and alcohol was nothing shy of amazing then.

  • Just seen this... heh, heh!

  • Looks like him to me, standing outside his entrance to his house at Hurtwood Edge.

  • @JoyfulNoise1989 That's not EC at 1:38. It is Delaney from Bonney, Delaney, and Freinds, a group EC was with.

  • such great style

  • Core...God...Marcy...30+ years of awesome.

  • That's what I'm screaming!

  • You are young and you are free, but damned if you're deceased in your own lifetime. Sheesh, this is a GREAT piece!

  • @Bedouin1957 Oh yes............

  • Where can i get the guitar tab for this?

  • google?

  • @wnmg432 try guitarmasta - dot - net. That's masta, not master. Again, guitarmasta - dot -net. U-T00b won't let me post the link, but you can find it there.

  • Fantastic song. Think this is from the Crosroads 2 live 4 cd box set. Well worth getting. This one of my favourite songs and riffs of claptons from the 70s :-)

  • Love this song and very pleased to find this great quality live recording. Love the excellent female singer! Wow! Favorited it.

  • When I saw him on his birthday i Pittsburgh, Slowhand Tout 77/78, ths is the song they opened with. Awesome.

  • #$%kin great vid !!!!

  • Would have been great if he would have played this on this tour.

  • Totally agree! Thanks for stopping by.

  • Playing like that on the spot--that's his legacy.

  • When Clapton is gone, this is the shit that will people remember....

  • The high energy of the music coupled with Eric and Marcy's vocals make this song UNFORGETABLE...

  • Great song!

  • awesome man!!

  • without a doubt the best riff EVER!

  • My favorite Eric Clapton song. Still fantastic. The best. Layla's amazing too though of course.

  • fn smokin' band, Clapton rulez

  • I am not a HUGE fan of Clapton's...But He is A Guitar God...But He ain't GOD. Jeff Beck , Alvin Lee from Ten Years After , Jimi Hendrix , Jimmy Page (Yes...Jimmy Page...although some of You think He ain't worthy) , Even Frank Zappa!!! The list goes onto Eddie VanHalen , Randy Rhoads, Dimebag Darrell, Slash, etc.

    Rock n Roll on MoFo's...HAHA

  • Frank Zappa is light years ahead of the all other guys you mention. Not only an outstanding guitarist, but also a great composer and songwriter.

  • True Dat' from a White Boy...

  • Clapton's best

  • nice one Marcy!

  • It's all about the band

  • No one seems to know this song, but it's also my favorite.

  • I'm four then, love the heavy riff (better than the studio version!) and interplay with Marcy who puts it over the top. Precedes what John and Yoko did with Double Fantasy and Milk and Honey in terms of taking turns. Thanks jjmc60.

  • Me makes three.... The mid 70's Marcy Levy stuff has always been my favorite.... Great riff, great feel, great lyrics, Blackie and Marcy...it doesn't get any better than that....

  • esmith4145 - THE BEST !!!!!!!

  • Mine too....since high school.

  • M y favorite clapton tune

  • Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, Feb 11th 1978 It's on the Crossroads 2 (live in the 70's) 4CD boxed set. Well worth getting hold of if you like Eric riffing on Blackie. Cheers.

  • nice,where n when?....
