Ive been at this for two weeks and it still take several hours to put my contacts in. It is not a matter or technique it is a matter of eye size and shape. Also they do not want to stick to my eyes.
yes it hurts only if you dont put solution on and its dry cuz it gives the lens more friction. If you soak it with solution it will just slide on your eye. It won't hurt at all and it should feel normal. If something doesn't feel right take it out right away.
I am going to get some soon but i am so nervous about taking them off seeing as you have to kinda pinch them out ? Urgh im so scared but i really want them so life can be easier lol Can people tell me if getting them is a good idea? because it looks so hard to put them in and take them out because my eyes are really delicate and i get so damn scared when things come to my eyes.

Well when i did it I took breaks because over exposure to the eye like that can have its negative effects but i say don't give up, but I'm waiting for lasik surgery in the future as well my concerns is it still in the experiment stage and that thing they put in your eye to prevent blinking I;m more afraid of that then contacts lol.

Well for me, it took me two appointments to get them in. What you can try doing is pull your top lid up and pull your top lid down and give yourself a little "stare" for maybe 3 seconds? Then, slowly place it in, and tap it in. Don't blink immediately because it'll pop out. It took me forever to put the contact in my right eye but it was a cinch for my left eye..even though I'm right handed :P.

If you are in an enclosed bathroom and you just took a shower, then its hard to put them in because your in an enclosed area with a lot of moisture, so go somewhere like the living room and put them in and they go in easier. i can do it now. its totally easy. it takes me all of 2 minutes 2 put both in. lol. u can tell if its on the rong side like when u hold it up, the curves should b facing in like a bowl. if its the other way, its inside out. =D

if the contacts sting, it must be dry or inside out. i just bought hard contacts, and those are DEFINITELY a lot harder to get used to. But soft contacts are really nice to start with, good luck!
no it doesnt sting.. it might if u still havve soap on ur hand from washing. but if there is something in ur lense it might irretate your eye and make it red... and if ur really tired that also bugs your eyes..

Using a mirror helps, just placte the contact directly in th emiddle of the pupil. make sure ur eye is looking straight. If theres a bubble just move it around or blink. Dont be afraid just push it right on ur eye. Not too hard tho lol.
i got some sweet black vampire lenses and some aqua blue lenses for super cheap at COCOcontacts com SO GOOD!! and you can tel if you have them on your fingure inside out cause the colour is lighter on the inside.. so cool

The deal I have with my opticians is I pay £37 a month (works out $68 roughly) for 3 months worth of lenses, solution, free eye tests & consultancies and I get a spare pair sent to me every 3rd month (so 4 sets of lenses in 3 months). You can also get lenses you can sleep in & wear constantly for the whole month.
Lol, my eyes are so messed up I gotta pay like $79 an eye for a 6 month supply. I'm having to use the Frequency 55 Toric XR's, i'm just waitin' for my doctor to get my left eye sorted out then i'll have to start ordering more. :(
i am pretty good at putting in contacts, but my tip is put on some solution on your contacts, or they get really itchy, and sometimes may turn your eyes red.
- before i bought contacts i touched that white part of my eye so i can get used to them and to eat em out i look down and just take em out - just saying if you needed sum help :)
My eye doctor said that to prepare to get contacts, it helps to touch the WHITES of your eyes, NOT the color, but the whites because then you can get use to your fingers touching your eyes. I tried to get contacts but since I couldn't put them in after trying forever; they didn't let me take them home. So now I'm trying again, but at a different eye doctor because my glasses lense kept popping out and they fixed it like 5 different times but it kept coming out every other 2 weeks, lol.

yes u can i wear them to i just got them but yes u can use the same solution put liek when u see stuff in it you need to change it and also when u start goign back to wearing them again change the solution every morning
I'm a qualified optometrist. Re-using your contact lens solution, even when you are not actually using the lenses, increases your risk of microbial keratitis (i.e eye infection) by around 10x. So basically, change the solution daily, its pretty cheap. :)

it´s not so easy you must have a lot of patience to put them in your eyes and must let you time and close your door and concentrate i took a 2 Months to put them in the Eye and then it was easy but don´t buy hard contact lenses
No need to be scared CoolChica12, trust me, it may seem hard at first, maybe harder for other people, but after like, 4-5 days, you'll be able to put'em on really quick, as in this video here, i got my lenses about 4 days ago, and i can put them in, yay.
What the heck! She makes it look so easy! it takes me about 5 mins per eye, but I can easily get them out within a few seconds, you'd think it'd be the other way around. Worse thing that happens is when you get a damn hair behind it after you just got it on there, oh man that sucks and hurts!
Thw way I put mine in is I just take out my eyeball and dip it in the contacts case and the contact usually just sticks to the eyeball. Then I put my eye back in...its really easy..ARRR
It took me half an hour to get one of them in and once I did it I was jumping up for joy. LOL. And my vision was so much better than glasses. Alas, I didn't keep it up after the first time because I was frustrated at how long it took me. I am going to try again.

I just got contacts yesterday and dont be scared I was a little. I was a little embarrased when i put them in for the first time because it took so long, then when i finally got one in it was inside out :D. But you get used to it, it's second day and i can put them in easily but taking them out is still a struggle :\. In time i guess it'll get easier.
I got mine less than a week ago. As you said, it does take a long time putting them in for the first time. Taking them out, though, was much easier/faster for me, even the first time. I wasn't really scared because I have friends who wear them and they have no problems with them. And again, as you said, in time, it WILL get easier.
There's not much to be scared of ;). The only thing I'm scared of (I've been wearing them for a few days now) is getting some sort of infection or disease, like pink eye. I do take care of them as well as I can, but I'm not sure if what I'm doing is right. The manual that came with the cleaning solution gives different instructions than my eye care professional. So far, I'm going by the doctor's word. Hope he's right.

That's what happened to me at first. Then I learned that you have to push a little harder, and move the contact on the eye a little bit before taking your finger out.

i am pretty good at putting in contacts, but my tip is put on some solution on your contacts, or they get really itchy, and sometimes may turn your eyes red.

- before i bought contacts i touched that white part of my eye so i can get used to them and to eat em out i look down and just take em out - just saying if you needed sum help :)

My eye doctor said that to prepare to get contacts, it helps to touch the WHITES of your eyes, NOT the color, but the whites because then you can get use to your fingers touching your eyes. I tried to get contacts but since I couldn't put them in after trying forever; they didn't let me take them home. So now I'm trying again, but at a different eye doctor because my glasses lense kept popping out and they fixed it like 5 different times but it kept coming out every other 2 weeks, lol.

omg, I'm exactly the same. They wouldn't let me home with it. I was like "Um...I'll pay you to let me go" and they were "Sorry we can't".
After spending what seemed like an eternity trying to put the lens in, I just thrust it...and it got stuck. The optician was called to remove it and at first he couldn't find it. I was like "omg...has it gone to the back of my eye?" lol

Hey I that used to happen to me with my glasses...I think it has to do with where the screws are...it's worn down...
I tried puttin contacts in the first time today...major buss..my eye got really red and they said to come back some other time...lol

ok i NEED HELP. I have monthly freshlook contacts(coloured) and i have all in one LIGHT solution. I wear contact lenses about 5 days a week and i wanna know do i Change the solution every day when i'm using them? and also when i dont wear them on a day, can i keep them in the same solution? thanks

yes u can i wear them to i just got them but yes u can use the same solution put liek when u see stuff in it you need to change it and also when u start goign back to wearing them again change the solution every morning

I'm a qualified optometrist. Re-using your contact lens solution, even when you are not actually using the lenses, increases your risk of microbial keratitis (i.e eye infection) by around 10x. So basically, change the solution daily, its pretty cheap. :)

man i just got back from the eye doctor like an hour ago it took me like 20 min to get mine in its sooooooooooo hard but its really easy to take them out!
but 4 the people that r thinking about getting lenses its 10 times better than glasses

it´s not so easy you must have a lot of patience to put them in your eyes and must let you time and close your door and concentrate i took a 2 Months to put them in the Eye and then it was easy but don´t buy hard contact lenses

No need to be scared CoolChica12, trust me, it may seem hard at first, maybe harder for other people, but after like, 4-5 days, you'll be able to put'em on really quick, as in this video here, i got my lenses about 4 days ago, and i can put them in, yay.

What the heck! She makes it look so easy! it takes me about 5 mins per eye, but I can easily get them out within a few seconds, you'd think it'd be the other way around. Worse thing that happens is when you get a damn hair behind it after you just got it on there, oh man that sucks and hurts!

Thw way I put mine in is I just take out my eyeball and dip it in the contacts case and the contact usually just sticks to the eyeball. Then I put my eye back in...its really easy..ARRR

It took me half an hour to get one of them in and once I did it I was jumping up for joy. LOL. And my vision was so much better than glasses. Alas, I didn't keep it up after the first time because I was frustrated at how long it took me. I am going to try again.

I just got contacts yesterday and dont be scared I was a little. I was a little embarrased when i put them in for the first time because it took so long, then when i finally got one in it was inside out :D. But you get used to it, it's second day and i can put them in easily but taking them out is still a struggle :\. In time i guess it'll get easier.

I got mine less than a week ago. As you said, it does take a long time putting them in for the first time. Taking them out, though, was much easier/faster for me, even the first time. I wasn't really scared because I have friends who wear them and they have no problems with them. And again, as you said, in time, it WILL get easier.

There's not much to be scared of ;). The only thing I'm scared of (I've been wearing them for a few days now) is getting some sort of infection or disease, like pink eye. I do take care of them as well as I can, but I'm not sure if what I'm doing is right. The manual that came with the cleaning solution gives different instructions than my eye care professional. So far, I'm going by the doctor's word. Hope he's right.

That's what happened to me at first. Then I learned that you have to push a little harder, and move the contact on the eye a little bit before taking your finger out.
