  • That journalist sure sounds interested in the hime fashion..

  • Japanese women are goddesses who know how to dress. Himegyaru is GORGEOUS and if i had the resources, I'd emulate such a lovely style.

Seriously, everything out of the Harajuku culture is GOLD <3.

  • I must try this style. It's actually really pretty. I'm usually Lolita, and I thought nothing could compare.

  • Cool! So KAWAII. Noi

  • I want to know where I can get a pattern for that dress!

  • This journalist is such a weirdo, I can't stand her voice.

  • hime lolita = lolita. hime gyaru = gyaru. with hime lolita, you still have to have the proper cupcake/a-line silhouette, knee/otk socks, blouse, etc etc. hime gyaru you don't need a petticoat and most of the time they wear tights or no tights with peep toes and heels. hime gyaru is also strapless dresses, or strappy dresses whereas in hime lolita you must have no cleavage and petticoats are a must.

just a few of the differences ;P

  • Hime forever :*

  • Paris Hiltons their idol? O.O No. Thats as bad as saying Gwen Stefani started the Harajuku fad or Lady Gaga started the circular lenses fad. Seriously ppl, these styles are Japanese, not influenced by western celebrities. There even were a lot of ppl in America dressing like this before the celebrities tried it. They are just followers not creators or inspiration. And honestly they don’t even do that well,If you were to look up true Harajuku fashion, Gwen Stefani’s version's worse than the noobs

  • @PixurGrl i think they look up to Paris because she's a rich heiress and tends to look feminine (like a princess), she's spoiled (like a pampered princess), and she's white (like from Europe), which happens to be the inspiration for himegyaru.

  • HIME GYARU MY LOVE :-*

  • kawaii:]

  • WTF??? Lol

  • What a nice escape!!!!!!

  • funny hime is sophisticated in japan to bad american women just see the look as childishness

  • Not true. I'm American. Don't put words in our mouth.

  • she said soft trippy voices.?

    wow thats not very nice.

i think they're voices are cute.

  • No, she said soft "chirpy" voices. Like little birds. It was a compliment.

  • ugly/nice

  • ya hime is a lot different that lolita, but I can see teenage lolitas crossing over to hime as they get older.

  • lolita is not stumpy

  • Well actually it can..if you layer on too many petticoats.

  • I'm curently dressing Lolita but I going to cross over soon to hime, and maybe still a little of Lolita!!!^_^

  • HIME GYARU IS LOVE

  • i luv Hime! :)

  • what is the name of the shop i really want an outfit !! ◕ ◡ ◕

  • Jesus Diamante.

  • Oh, ha, yes I see how you saw that~

And yes, the petticoats and clunky shoes are not quite as sleek as the hime look.

  • They called lolita stumpy! :(

  • they're called Himegyaru/ Princess Gal actually.

  • Yes, I know Himegyaru! I love it a lot. But the Hime they interviewed said Lolita was "stumpy". :( I am lolita and don't like "stumpy"

    ◕ ◡ ◕

  • oh

the way you I read your comment sounded like you were saying "theyre called lolita Stumpy!" to like someone else

I guess maybe because the frills on the end of Lolita dresses are rather thick and big and stick out more, but on JD wear and other Hime clothing, the frills stay close to the body and don't poof out like what you could call "traditional princess dresses"

  • lolita and hime aren't the same thing at all.

  • Unless it's hime-lolita. :D

  • even then it's not the same.

  • ... Der. But they're similar if the hime dresses lolita or the lolita is dressing hime... ...

  • @xNightberryx whats the difference?

  • @xNightberryx However...there is Hime Lolita...which is like the marriage of the two.

  • @xNightberryx There is a such thing as Hime Lolita though.

  • Very cute dresses. *____*

  • tthe dresses are soo expensive.

  • JD dresses are soooo kawaii :3

    I <3 hime.

  • Wall Street Journal covered this? Interesting.

  • Jesus Diamante is pure love! *_*
