I find the Lancer to be the most balanced, and my personal favorite rifle. It puts more lead into the air faster than the other two, and with a decent amount of accuracy. It's the best blind-fire weapon period, at long ranges, and it's just a great all-around support weapon.
Firing it from the hip is also good for slowing down charging people when they get close and you don't want to lose speed by aiming. Lancer is, IMO, the best weapon in the game all things considered.

The funny thing is that Gears of War 3 can have dedicated servers but Gears gets way less money that COD but COD can't put it in. I don't really care anymore since COD is just getting old since they make the game because people buy it.
I'm a hammerburst guy, I'm a support player and so when some of my team is going for power weapons or pushing up I like to give cover fire, and the hammerburst is by far the most accurate for me, and my trigger finger is ok, just good enough that the fire rate isn't a problem
reg lancer is for me because i am mostly a medium kind of guy, retro is cool sometimes... gnasher is always, i hate the sawed off because i think it is cheep and i hate when people bro rush you with it. i love the chainsaw but seldom use it because there is always people like but buddies chilling with each other so i cant really use that much, but over all i love gow3!! bf3 beta is pretty awesome as well... Also the locust make different sounding footsteps, or at least they sound different, also if u think someone is coming up behind you, flick your tac com and see if you have any teammates behind you, comes in handy
I used to like the Lancer the most but I started using the retro lancer recently and have been doing very well with it. Most people rush with shotgun anyway so the retro lancer is good with its incredible damage along with slow the enemies down when running
@NoobMAN10101 Retro is very very good at close range. But picking weapons according to map is also good. Because maps are different like this one right here i would put the retro lance because it is a close range map compared to Sandbar or something.

Unlike gears you can actually decrease the sound of your footsteps which would make sense in a Call of Duty setting, not gears of war. Lancer wins. The retro is arguably more fun, but the lancer threatens at all ranges. You can full auto on maps like sand bar and down people from the overlook very easily. Well-aimed it drops people close pretty quickly too and it is easily the best of the 3 rifles for blind/hipfire which cuts into what would otherwise be a disadvantage at shorter ranges. I've tried most loadouts but IMO right now lancer/gnasher is still the best.
People talk shit about the retro lancer, but i've been killed by it from across the map on gridlock and overpass. I tested it myself, if you only fire in little bursts it pretty much downs everyone in only a second or too. It ain't easy, and people with active reloaded regular lancers can still outgun you, but I think it'd be worth using.

Hammerburst = Good for accurate players with fast trigger fingers who like to smash brains in a short range
Retro lancer = AK47 of the gears world, high damage, quite hard to handle, for those who like to bayonet the shit out of anyone, any range.

The sawed off shotgun and the gnasher are evenly fair, so are the Retro Lancer and the Hammerburst.
Sawed off is short range, long reload, less ammo
Gnasher is short/mid range, short reload, more ammo
Lastly, the Retro beats the Hammerburst if you put in enough shots.

The funny thing is that Gears of War 3 can have dedicated servers but Gears gets way less money that COD but COD can't put it in. I don't really care anymore since COD is just getting old since they make the game because people buy it.

I'm a hammerburst guy, I'm a support player and so when some of my team is going for power weapons or pushing up I like to give cover fire, and the hammerburst is by far the most accurate for me, and my trigger finger is ok, just good enough that the fire rate isn't a problem

reg lancer is for me because i am mostly a medium kind of guy, retro is cool sometimes... gnasher is always, i hate the sawed off because i think it is cheep and i hate when people bro rush you with it. i love the chainsaw but seldom use it because there is always people like but buddies chilling with each other so i cant really use that much, but over all i love gow3!! bf3 beta is pretty awesome as well... NO LAG FOR THE WIN!!!!

Also the locust make different sounding footsteps, or at least they sound different, also if u think someone is coming up behind you, flick your tac com and see if you have any teammates behind you, comes in handy

I used to like the Lancer the most but I started using the retro lancer recently and have been doing very well with it. Most people rush with shotgun anyway so the retro lancer is good with its incredible damage along with slow the enemies down when running

@NoobMAN10101 Retro is very very good at close range. But picking weapons according to map is also good. Because maps are different like this one right here i would put the retro lance because it is a close range map compared to Sandbar or something.

@Iminate Why do people compare this game to call of duty? Im pretty sure the reason he bought his headset in the first place was because of call of duty. Unlike gears you can actually decrease the sound of your footsteps which would make sense in a Call of Duty setting, not gears of war. So dont compare call of duty with gears of war cause CoD is better anyway :D

Lancer wins. The retro is arguably more fun, but the lancer threatens at all ranges. You can full auto on maps like sand bar and down people from the overlook very easily. Well-aimed it drops people close pretty quickly too and it is easily the best of the 3 rifles for blind/hipfire which cuts into what would otherwise be a disadvantage at shorter ranges. I've tried most loadouts but IMO right now lancer/gnasher is still the best.
Ded servers = the best.

People talk shit about the retro lancer, but i've been killed by it from across the map on gridlock and overpass. I tested it myself, if you only fire in little bursts it pretty much downs everyone in only a second or too. It ain't easy, and people with active reloaded regular lancers can still outgun you, but I think it'd be worth using.
