@clantosa its latin, i took it for 2 years, well thats how i remember how to say all that. but you could be right about the portuguese thing also since apparently if you know latin, you also know spanish, french, italian, portuguese, and romanian. don't know how that could be possible since they all have different words and have dialects unlike latin, which is a dead language. BUT IT WAS EASY! :D
Do you have a collection of audio samples of these Human Abstract covers? It would be the ultimate gift. Better than the one in that movie. (great movie by the way)
@alexatetris I can see how that would certainly be a challenge, I would suggest if you do that song just try and follow the bass guitar for the bass cleft on piano instead of following the vocals. But I am not a very good pianist so that may be a little bit more complicated then I thought.
I have played this song a million times on guitar, and have never even considered a parallel of classical, it just never ran through my mind... I had never transposed it to any other instrument... Good ear! I suggest trying to transpose Faust next, that would sound incredibly interesting!
@CrushedToTheDepths I have considered Faust in the past; it would certainly be a challenge considering there is less of a vocal melody for me to work with.
@alexatetris im about done with faust on guitar (just cleaning it up) and yea transposing to piano...i cant even imagine. nothings impossible tho ;) but i wanna hear horizons! lol
hey dude, by any chance do you have the audio, or can u upload it mp3, pleaaaase man, i think you´re amazing and the way u play has made me get into piano again,
thanks
i mean, can u upload it for us to download it, i´d really like to have the audio on my ipod
hey dude, by any chance do you have the audio, or can u upload it mp3, pleaaaase man, i think you´re amazing and the way u play has made me get into piano again,
your THA covers are all incredible, and you are a remarkable pianist. thank you for uploading this, as well as the others as they are all amazingly well done!
Hey man, I asked many pianists this, but no one could answer me.
So. How to teach myself the piano? I'm a guitarist, and I can play anything on the guitar, and had to practice and practice and practice(still have to practice!). But how do I do that on the piano? Being a prog metal fan, I don't know what to play. Attempting to play Rudess would be a suicide! So do you perhaps have any advice on what to learn? Where to start??? I know the basics, but nothing more. Help, please?
@FranLesPaul honestly, if you know your way around the fretboard/some theory you only need to learn technique on piano to become proficient. start with basic classical pieces, fur elise for example. it's a cliché but like guitar start slow and build your way up from there. all it can do is complement your guitar playing - not hinder it.
@EpsilonX haha, I have a feeling Antebellum would be tough. Might learn Horizon as well but I'm not sure yet because was planning on stopping after Elegiac; THA is an exhausting band! :P
Please work on this some more and put up another video! I am in no way dissing you, I just think it sounds awesome and I really want to hear it cleaned up and polished. Great job! Keep shredding the keys. ;)
Wow, hearing this played on a piano just magnifies the classical aspects of this song. You have excellent musical preferences and kudos on this performance before the album is even released lol. You learn rather quickly!
Funny, I learn a bunch of metal songs on piano by ear and it's nice to see others tapping in to it. Metal has the technicality and structure of a lot of classical, and being a classical music enthusiast/clarinetist/metalhead (yeah, rare combo) I'm able to understand their similarities and differences and as much as I try to spread the word, nobody listens. LOL. Great cover.
@clashingelements Yesss! Thank you for existing my friend! The lot of us need to ban together and sustain the little hope there is left for this world! Keep spreading the word, and if they refuse to believe the truth and beauty of it, they are not worth our time. (wow, haha, a preacher was the LAST thing I wanted to sound like there…)
@Dave90425 Oh wow, you are absolutely right! And may I just say you have a great ear, and superior attention to detail! It's the D. I checked it over and it is literally the only out of tune note on my piano.
I jizzed out all of my organs when I listened to this. If you slowed it down just a tad it would honestly be perfect. Haha also you should send it to THA and try out to be their new keyboardist. :)
I love the classical feel the band brings to metal, and I love the classical feel they inspire in pianists. Great job! Sounds really 15th century or something, I like it.
@TheBlitzkriege thank you! I agree, too many people who are into metal these days don't seem to realize the incredible parallel there is between metal and classical. They are probably more similar to each other than any other genre. Personally, I am a classical fan first, but Prog/Neo-classical metal is a close second!
@alexatetris i could not agree with this statement more, i truly believe that all good metal today has to come from a metal head who listens to classical music. The combination of metal with classical instruments just fits so well together (i know thats not exactly what your saying but i stand by it)

@clantosa apparently this makes more sense on google translate in latin:
meus deus! tu es bona. et te amo
exactly that way, the ! throws it off and it puts in words like "thou art" and whatnot...
