thanks .Is there any chance of geting this instrumential version ? I need to dawload this.I have to get this for my practicals tests for music. I hope to sing this song. HELP
The song is about a miscarriage she had. She explained it in an interview. She still felt a spiritual connection to the child and didn't want to let it go. She said she this was he version of "Tears in Heaven" *(an Eric Clapton song about the death of his son)
I'm pretty sure she's actually singing about losing her child (miscarriage) -- when she says "will you still remember playing with trains, or does this blue ball just fade away" she means after you die.
In every interview she's given where the subject has come up, she's said that the song was inspired by a dream in which the ghost of a black woman visited her by her bedside, and told her of a long lost love...
@LyzMoon > The "little blue ball" is a reference to the Earth. I believe she is using the "ocean" to describe the vastness of the emotions she feels for this person. She has cried tears b/c she sees how selfishly she's held on to someone for so long. Realizing that she has held them down, she will cry even more to help them get where they need to be, even if it isn't with her. I think this song is a beautiful testament of something simple, yet so powerful...If you love something, let it go.
thank you so much for this!! i've been looking all over for a instrumental version of this beautiful song!!! it's one of the most wonderful songs i know. thank you!!
Funny thing...All this time I thought this was just a love song...I didnt realize it was the earth singing....I feel so dumb,,.i was like wtf is this blue ball shes singing about?
She's actually singing to her husband about a situation that created a distance between her and him. It was when he lost his father and their relationship went through a difficult time because Mark was devastated.
