  • After this song, I have a will to learn about violin or piano, then I will use my skills to play this song for my future wife ~.~ Such a wonderful song. How can a mere human make a song like this ???? That human must be a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I started listening to this song when I was 8, and now I'm still listening to this song. I'll tell you guys a secret : I will choose this song for my wedding day. ^^ ( not a secret anymore ).

  • just love this

  • Bravo!

  • 139 people prefer fake autotuned crappola.

  • Very beautiful. Thank you, very much.

  • it kinda sounds like hallelujah ... like a church choir version! amazing none the less :D

  • Brividi..

  • i hope listen that perform at hagia Irene.

  • WHY IS ANY USELESS MODERN AUTHOR (EXPECIALLY IN HOUSE MUSIC) USING ALWAYS THE CHORDS FROM THIS CANON? I'M TIRED OF LISTENING TO STUPID MUSIC THAT IS TRYING TO DESTROY PACHELBEL'S CANON! GOD BLESS THIS PIECE!

  • @Vincintosh We composers are not using those chords in an attempt to rip-off Canon in D. The typical chord progression seen here was used often in Pachelbel's era, and has persisted through to today. Chord progression are unable to be copyrighted, and you wouldn't want them to be. The best composers out there let the music decide where it goes. If a melody happens to come together using this chord progression, then we should be allowed to use it. We aren't doing it to hate on this piece.

  • I never tire of this. Total, perfect, bliss.

  • I really like it!! 100% double thumps up!

  • i love it

  • Does anyone know a CD I can get this from? Thanks ::

  • @spanner77ful You can buy CDs from the Voices of Music website, and tracks from the "Concerto Barocco" album are available from all digital media outlets, including iTunes, Amazon, Magnatune and Instant Encore.

  • i'm glad they played this a half step down, the way baroque music should be played

  • This is one of my favorite pieces of music. I am 27 years old and have a wide range of music on my Iphone from this song ( three or four different version of it ) to heavy metal. I just think that people lose respect for this kind of music. I don't think music would be what it is today if it wasn't for the people of its time. This piece is the reason why I am saving to by a violin. To the people in this video amazing job.

  • That's masterpiece!!!!! It sounds like all the notes are flying.

  • 138 weirds now are playing guitar hero

  • amazing

  • :) celestial! me encanta!

  • Oh thank God I have ears

  • It's a shame the camera person did not pull the shot back to include the whole ensemble until 3.04.

  • @fyonista Because this was a recording session for a CD, we just put a camera up and hoped for the best :)

  • @Walvis2007 Why bother with a camera at all then if you was just recording. hope you dont make a film ,then miss half of the soundtrack off then. still a nice piece though never the less . I enjoyed it immensily

  • @dgwbuildwright The camera makes an image of the recording session: no camera, no image. I like it that there was a camera there, so I can see it now--not all video is a movie.

  • @Walvis2007 the camera makes an image...thanks for clearing that up for me.

  • @dgwbuildwright The camera on a tripod, just set to roll, makes an image as opposed to a "film"; a photograph implies a degree of art: the camera is in this case just a witness to an event. It isn't a film, but it records a moment in time.

  • @Walvis2007 getting caught up in semantics wont help your cause with me as I have been working for the BBC in wood lane London for 34 years as a photographer for David attenborough, my fault I suppose for not letting you know earlier . We might disagree about what you did/ how you did it etc, dont need any help about photography. stick to music you are very good at it. Talking down to people... fail. Case closed.

  • @dgwbuildwright I'm a fan of Attenborough, but I do not aspire to be him. If semantics is about meaning, then the meaning for us was to put up a camera so we could share the music. To share the music so that any person with an internet connection, even in the many places in the world where there are no concerts or even music, could see and hear the music. I can't see any other way to do that--we aren't trying to make a film. Open always, to suggestions about how to do better.

  • @dgwbuildwright You've missed the whole spirit of the video which was to let people like myself see a concert by these wonderful people playing amazing music on their beautiful instruments. It's what one would see at a concert so it's a great visual, as well as audio, recording.

  • เพราะมาก ชอบเพลงนี้สุด ๆ ><''

  • This song is so contagious, and this is the best performance of this song I've heard until now. Thanks.

  • It´s the best performance of this song in my lifetime.

  • Magnificent! :3

  • One of the most moving and living performances of this piece that I have ever heard. Magnificent. Many thanks!

  • เก่งจัง

  • @lee292539 ขอบคุณ

  • @lee292539 โธ่คุนก็ ล่อภาษาไทยเลยหรอเนี่ย

  • Maybe there is a god afterall.

  • this song is amazing.. and i never could find it until now! i cant stop listening to it!!!:D

  • It may be sacrilege, but I must confess that I use this video every time I test new video or audio arrangements om my computers - a not infrequent occurence. One might as well listen to music one loves - the only disadvantage is that I find myself unable to turn it off after confirming that I have sound or video, but instead must listen through the entire performance....

    Henri

  • =) =) =) I like

  • this is th most awsomest sadest song ever !

  • @TurboBlitz63 "sadest"

you have a terrible sense for music

  • A melhor versão do Cânone e Giga em Ré Maior: Cânone

The best version of Canon and Gigue in D Major: Canon

  • Beautifully played and conceived, a wonderful performance of one of my favorite pieces of music. Thank you for your artistry and your generosity.

  • I hit the "like" button because there isn't a "love" button!

  • is it possible to play the violin without moving so much or are thy just feeling the music

  • this is phenomenal.

  • Love to see harry potter doing so well at the organ! Thanks for sharing!!!

  • @Julsfully Oh god yes..I have wanted this to be the piece playing as my partner, or I, walk down the aisle for as long as I can remember! Beautiful, masterful rendition of an indescribely moving piece...well done!

  • @Julsfully It was mine, and I hope your day is as wonderful as mine was.

  • @Julsfully it was mine :) great choice! :)

  • Second from left: I didn't know Elizabeth Warren played the violin. :P

  • This is wonderful, thank you for giving us a listen to what Cannon might have sounded like originally. :)

  • absolutely beautiful and amazing !!! can't wait for my wedding !!!!

  • I Love this music,,so soft n beautiful.

  • Proof that musicians stay hot even when they age so long as they still make music lol

  • I can barely see my keyboard through the tears of joy. This beautiful recording is probably the finest rendition I have ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  • I just LOVE this!!

  • sooooooo gooood!!!!

  • Woww.. too good, its really nice.. you people have put your soul into this beautiful track.... I cant stop hearing this...Especially the starting is awesome , I have seen many orchestras of this track but they didn't played it soooo soulfully like you,......a +100 for this....... keep it up.

  • I've not heard this played this way. Beautiful.

  • NINE. HUNDRETH. VIDEO.

    EPIC. GREEN. JUICE.

  • Ahhh i love it :)

  • Not only original instruments but they're also using the old key of d (which is closet to the modern key of c ;D)

  • God, the cello player must get so sick of playing the same few notes over and over again, then again he does have a great peice of music to listen to while playing those notes.

  • As it was meant to be played and heard.

  • this is so beautiful. period

  • I suppose Johann Pachelbel will "arise" from the grave in protest of this great cannon on U tube? I say nay nay, great job!

  • Woah.

  • I play this a couple of times a week when particularly stressed and I must say it beats paying 150+ hourly for a person with a notepad telling me to relax. Stress free listener

  • Nice job, congrats ladies!

  • woooooohoooooooooo....thank God there are still people like you

  • Wonderful!

  • Very, very nice version of the wonderful Canon in D. I think Maestro Harnoncourt would like this ;-)

  • thank you for uploading this. beautiful.

  • Great performance! Beautiful enssemble playing baroque Johann Pachelbel...Thanks for such magnificent gift!!

  • Unlike another versions, I like this piece the best.

  • I say this is the perfect one!!

  • Thank you for letting me stroll in your "park". I had heard this tune before, then it came as a "ring tone" on my cell and I chose it. I had to research it. It is, even, nice in digital form, but this is the best I have found.

  • Well, now we know why they moderate comments. :P

  • This is just wonderful, thank you.

  • This is a canon.

  • Takes my breath away

  • Most beautiful violin!

  • Puffff que cancion para relajante XD

  • Wonderful !!!

  • Outstanding - phenomenal interpretation

  • This is, by far, the best version of this magnificent piece I ever heard! Moderately up-tempo, unlike most versions I've heard so far. Like it very much!

    Thanks for uploading!

  • im not to big on classical music but sumhow this song really fascinates me

  • Still get the chill.

  • Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!xxxx

  • The first time I heard this my baby sister was playing it as part of a school orchestra and I have always loved it ever since.

  • the best lullaby bf hv a very sweet dream :)

  • simply magical.....makes me want to pick up a violin again

  • Just want to add, to the person who uploaded this....I utterly detest those who insist on "approving" comments before they're posted. Not actually in the spirit of YT at all, is it? What's the matter with you?

  • @Ellie8969 I suppose it comes down to whether you consider your channel a park or a wall. And I think there are plenty of each to choose from online.

  • @Walvis2007 "Your" channel? Good grief. The music doesn't even belong to you.

  • @Ellie8969 The reason it is our channel is because we researched the manuscripts, transcribed and edited the music, made the arrangements, made the musicological editions, hired the musicians, rehearsed and directed the ensemble (with the input from our colleagues), set up the microphones and video cameras, recorded the music, edited the digital media, made the videos and titles, provided food and rehearsal space for everyone, and uploaded it for you to enjoy for free, as our gift.

  • @Walvis2007 About what you said to Ellie8969 (@&#%!), you guys are incredibly Awesome! And thanks for the gift.

  • @Walvis2007 i love how there is no response...

  • @Walvis2007 It is brilliant. thank you for the exceptionally well done effort. My all time favorite piece and done as well as i have ever heard it. Bravo and bless you.

  • @Walvis2007 And I, for one, thank you for your gift. I used to sing under the direction of someone who's very involved in the HIP world; nothing like hearing a piece performed on period instruments.

  • @Walvis2007 thank you for uploading this! i find it helpful when I'm studying or writing my articles. nothing beats classical. a-plus for you and your colleagues' effort. keep it up! and marry christmas!

  • @Walvis2007 Thank you for this wonderful gift which I listen to at least once a week. These classics inspires me and re-energises me. Thank you also for taking the time to filter out inappropriate comments so we listeners don't have to wade through them.

  • @Ellie8969 Don't be such a whiny brat, this is a lovely rendition of one of my favourite songs and I am extremely grateful for its uploading. If you don't like it or don't appreciate it don't watch it.

  • @Ellie8969 if you've been on YT for more than a week, you know that the general population of YT comments show off the worst, most immature, and despicable sides of humanity. it's perfectly reasonably to screen comments; however it's pretty unreasonable to criticize someone for it, as you have done.

  • @Ellie8969 If it's not is the spirit of YT , then why does YT offer the option of doing so? It's a feature that didn't appear automatically, it had to be conceived, written and tested by YT engineers in order to come into existence. If the option is there, you can't criticize people for deciding to use it.

  • @me4901 Please, stop your nosense. Find another place to develop your weird feelings against nice people.

  • @Ellie8969 perhaps ellie you would like to ask quetions and educate yourself before you protest anyones actions. 1. the vast majority of classical works of dead composers is in the public domain...as Walvis stated they created the entire arraingement ( their version of Pachabel's Cannon in D) 2. If you have bothered to study any classical works you might learn that Pachabel most likely would have appreciated this version greatly. 3. censoring is used to keep out drama. . . winx ;p

  • @LindaBkrWms People have a right to their opinions. Censorship is an important issue--no one likes moderating comments; I think people bring up important issues. Everyone has a valid point of view, you, Ellie8969, many others.

  • @Walvis2007 do you have the music sheet for this song on all the instruments that were involved in this video?

  • @dirty654321 Because the bass part is improvised, there is no written down version. There are many versions on the web of the basic score.

  • i love it how the violinists move so much

  • I'm crying... I wish that the gothique and Medieval times would bloom again like the rose it once was... I'd also not look like a freak from the wrong century all the time...

  • @gothiquedeath13 Wasn't such a "rose" really. 50% of children died before their 5th birthday, and most of those who survived lived in filth and squalor to a degree that few people today can truly understand. It's all very well to get misty eyed over the music of that time, but you should be grateful that you have the chance to enoy it in 2011, in the comfort of your clean, warm home.

  • i could fall sleep to this

  • I likethis so much

  • Nice! Wonderful!

  • Beautiful work...the musicians should be very proud of their performance. Thanks for making Youtube a meaningful destination!!

  • So. Perfect.

  • It is still beyond my ability to fathom how humans can create such beauty. Through the composition, to the craftsmanship of the instruments, and of course, the way the musicians fingers slide seamlessly across their weapons of art. We're a destructive race, us humans, but every once in a while, we blossom into something beautiful.

  • Amazing!

  • Beautiful !!! My favourite Canon in D ^_^

  • i have to play the da da dadadada with slurs. I hate school

  • wow. That literally brought me to tears. Just something about the smoothness of the way it was played, and how the musicians were absorbed into their instruments, it's as if the song was playing itself, and my ears simply witnessed. Incredibly well done.

  • the old man is a playaaa! xD great song btw

  • i hope i'm same standard as you all !!! so wonderful!!...kinda jealous though :P

  • Congratulations visualization of three million good canon in Brazil

  • The best song of all times.
