After this song, I have a will to learn about violin or piano, then I will use my skills to play this song for my future wife ~.~ Such a wonderful song. I'll tell you guys a secret : I will choose this song for my wedding day. ^^ ( not a secret anymore ).
WHY IS ANY USELESS MODERN AUTHOR (EXPECIALLY IN HOUSE MUSIC) USING ALWAYS THE CHORDS FROM THIS CANON? I'M TIRED OF LISTENING TO STUPID MUSIC THAT IS TRYING TO DESTROY PACHELBEL'S CANON! GOD BLESS THIS PIECE!
@Vincintosh We composers are not using those chords in an attempt to rip-off Canon in D. The typical chord progression seen here was used often in Pachelbel's era, and has persisted through to today. Chord progression are unable to be copyrighted, and you wouldn't want them to be. The best composers out there let the music decide where it goes. If a melody happens to come together using this chord progression, then we should be allowed to use it. We aren't doing it to hate on this piece.
@spanner77ful You can buy CDs from the Voices of Music website, and tracks from the "Concerto Barocco" album are available from all digital media outlets, including iTunes, Amazon, Magnatune and Instant Encore.
This is one of my favorite pieces of music. I am 27 years old and have a wide range of music on my Iphone from this song ( three or four different version of it ) to heavy metal. I just think that people lose respect for this kind of music. I don't think music would be what it is today if it wasn't for the people of its time. This piece is the reason why I am saving to by a violin. To the people in this video amazing job.
@Walvis2007 Why bother with a camera at all then if you was just recording. hope you dont make a film ,then miss half of the soundtrack off then. still a nice piece though never the less . I enjoyed it immensily
@dgwbuildwright The camera makes an image of the recording session: no camera, no image. I like it that there was a camera there, so I can see it now--not all video is a movie.
@dgwbuildwright The camera on a tripod, just set to roll, makes an image as opposed to a "film"; a photograph implies a degree of art: the camera is in this case just a witness to an event. It isn't a film, but it records a moment in time.
@Walvis2007 getting caught up in semantics wont help your cause with me as I have been working for the BBC in wood lane London for 34 years as a photographer for David attenborough, my fault I suppose for not letting you know earlier . We might disagree about what you did/ how you did it etc, dont need any help about photography. stick to music you are very good at it. Talking down to people... fail. Case closed.
@dgwbuildwright I'm a fan of Attenborough, but I do not aspire to be him. If semantics is about meaning, then the meaning for us was to put up a camera so we could share the music. To share the music so that any person with an internet connection, even in the many places in the world where there are no concerts or even music, could see and hear the music. I can't see any other way to do that--we aren't trying to make a film. Open always, to suggestions about how to do better.
@dgwbuildwright You've missed the whole spirit of the video which was to let people like myself see a concert by these wonderful people playing amazing music on their beautiful instruments. It's what one would see at a concert so it's a great visual, as well as audio, recording.
It may be sacrilege, but I must confess that I use this video every time I test new video or audio arrangements om my computers - a not infrequent occurence. One might as well listen to music one loves - the only disadvantage is that I find myself unable to turn it off after confirming that I have sound or video, but instead must listen through the entire performance....
@Julsfully Oh god yes..I have wanted this to be the piece playing as my partner, or I, walk down the aisle for as long as I can remember! Beautiful, masterful rendition of an indescribely moving piece...well done!
I can barely see my keyboard through the tears of joy. This beautiful recording is probably the finest rendition I have ever heard. Thank you so much for sharing this!
Woww.. too good, its really nice.. you people have put your soul into this beautiful track.... I cant stop hearing this...Especially the starting is awesome , I have seen many orchestras of this track but they didn't played it soooo soulfully like you,......a +100 for this....... keep it up.
God, the cello player must get so sick of playing the same few notes over and over again, then again he does have a great peice of music to listen to while playing those notes.
I play this a couple of times a week when particularly stressed and I must say it beats paying 150+ hourly for a person with a notepad telling me to relax. Stress free listener
Thank you for letting me stroll in your "park". I had heard this tune before, then it came as a "ring tone" on my cell and I chose it. I had to research it. It is, even, nice in digital form, but this is the best I have found.
This is, by far, the best version of this magnificent piece I ever heard! Moderately up-tempo, unlike most versions I've heard so far. Like it very much!

@Walvis2007 thank you for uploading this! i find it helpful when I'm studying or writing my articles. nothing beats classical. a-plus for you and your colleagues' effort. keep it up! and marry christmas!
@Walvis2007 Thank you for this wonderful gift which I listen to at least once a week. These classics inspires me and re-energises me. Thank you also for taking the time to filter out inappropriate comments so we listeners don't have to wade through them.
@Ellie8969 Don't be such a whiny brat, this is a lovely rendition of one of my favourite songs and I am extremely grateful for its uploading. If you don't like it or don't appreciate it don't watch it.
@Ellie8969 if you've been on YT for more than a week, you know that the general population of YT comments show off the worst, most immature, and despicable sides of humanity. it's perfectly reasonably to screen comments; however it's pretty unreasonable to criticize someone for it, as you have done.
@Ellie8969 If it's not is the spirit of YT , then why does YT offer the option of doing so? It's a feature that didn't appear automatically, it had to be conceived, written and tested by YT engineers in order to come into existence. If the option is there, you can't criticize people for deciding to use it.
@Ellie8969 perhaps ellie you would like to ask quetions and educate yourself before you protest anyones actions. 1. the vast majority of classical works of dead composers is in the public domain...as Walvis stated they created the entire arraingement ( their version of Pachabel's Cannon in D) 2. If you have bothered to study any classical works you might learn that Pachabel most likely would have appreciated this version greatly. 3. censoring is used to keep out drama. . . winx ;p
@LindaBkrWms People have a right to their opinions. Censorship is an important issue--no one likes moderating comments; I think people bring up important issues. Everyone has a valid point of view, you, Ellie8969, many others.
I'm crying... I wish that the gothique and Medieval times would bloom again like the rose it once was... I'd also not look like a freak from the wrong century all the time...
@gothiquedeath13 Wasn't such a "rose" really. 50% of children died before their 5th birthday, and most of those who survived lived in filth and squalor to a degree that few people today can truly understand. It's all very well to get misty eyed over the music of that time, but you should be grateful that you have the chance to enoy it in 2011, in the comfort of your clean, warm home.
It is still beyond my ability to fathom how humans can create such beauty. Through the composition, to the craftsmanship of the instruments, and of course, the way the musicians fingers slide seamlessly across their weapons of art. We're a destructive race, us humans, but every once in a while, we blossom into something beautiful.
wow. That literally brought me to tears. Just something about the smoothness of the way it was played, and how the musicians were absorbed into their instruments, it's as if the song was playing itself, and my ears simply witnessed. Incredibly well done.
dude this song was stuck in my head for a hour and I've been looking everywhere for it... I'm so happy Ifound it. It's a really beautiful song :)

@LindaBkrWms People have a right to their opinions. Censorship is an important issue--no one likes moderating comments; I think people bring up important issues. Everyone has a valid point of view, you, Ellie8969, many others.

@Walvis2007 do you have the music sheet for this song on all the instruments that were involved in this video?
dirty654321 1 month ago
@dirty654321 Because the bass part is improvised, there is no written down version. There are many versions on the web of the basic score.

We're a destructive race, us humans, but every once in a while, we blossom into something beautiful.

i have to play the da da dadadada with slurs. I hate school
redeyesdrogon786 1 month ago
wow. That literally brought me to tears. Just something about the smoothness of the way it was played, and how the musicians were absorbed into their instruments, it's as if the song was playing itself, and my ears simply witnessed. Incredibly well done.
