  • @ecofreak303 XD.Actually I would love to see a Calculus/Science musical.

  • omg

  • The last piece playing by the musicians of the Titanic...so sad

  • >< the title doesnt seem right or maybe its just me but the songs just so happy buuuut whyyy teehh underwoorlld?!

  • @BlackForests The Music comes from the Musical (I think its an Opera) which is about a man who goes into the underworld to rescue his wife. Hence... Underworld!

  • @BlackForests I guess it's because when Orpheus entered the Underworld,he played such a happy music, all the creatures and Hades himself started dancing.

  • offenbach ... always smile :)

  • i played this in an orchesrta in 6th grade

  • Aww this bring back memories of a year ago I was playing this in youth symphony. I've come so far. Switched to flute. Become good at it, and no one cares probly. In just babbling sorry.

  • @flutesoccerhappiness

I'm always glad to read that so many people still appreciate this music and dedicate themselves to playing it so many years after its composition.

  • "Music to drown by, now I know I'm in first class."

  • classic punk:D

  • haha our teacher was searching some shit on youtube and when he went away for the toilet someone in my class searched this and he putted the volume on high

everyone laughed so hard and when he came back he was like wtf how is this music called

  • @tagadi22 Stardust, you can look up the clip on youtube. Type in "the robert the niro dance" =)

  • wow,thanx for uploading this

  • You know something, most geniuses looked a little eccentric! :D

  • We played this in 8th grade XD

Our conductor Mr. Kuneeven went CRAZY conducting around 0:37

It was like in those cartoons where the conductors are flailing around like crazy, getting all into the music XD

Me and the other clarinets were up front so it was halarious to watch!

  • thats kinda weird, how could this guy attributes teh greek legend of the poet who got down the underworld (Hades) to rescue his lover's soul (much like Dante aliguieri) and, not to mention, fail to get'em both alive out there, with such...happy, cheerfull and exciting song O_Õ? (umless he imagined this song playing while they run with half hell crumbling on'em...)

  • I am at my school's band and we love to play this song, but a bit slower. I play the tenor saxophone, which is like the bass for this song.

  • This the happiest piece of music I know Could once dance a very good can. Ah those were the days :-)

  • If this genius knew in that times that today the kids only want to listen lady gaga, iam sure he wouldnbt be bothered to make such masterpiece.

  • @kinogomes1980

Jacques Offenbach was the gaga of his time. It's thanks to him that music like Lady Gaga even exists today!

  • @emilykol kill yourself

  • @kinogomes1980 I think if anyone from the past found out about Lady Gaga and her popularity, they would ALL stop and immediately stab themselves in the brain

  • If the fruit-preserving people want to dance, I suppose they would prefer the can can.

  • @AvmanM LOL

  • I'm happy of this music!

  • The only composer that smiles in his pictures o.O

  • I have this in notes for trumpet :D

  • It's weird to think of this song as being about a person descending to hell! Correct me if I'm wrong but I think that's what it's about.

  • you`re consideration ist correct. But It`s Orpheus, so the old greek Faith. And the Underworld was for the greeks not the definiton of Hell like in teh christian faith.

the "Underworld" where Orpheus went through, was a Place where souls, spirits, demons and shadowcreatures lived with anarchic chaos and bestial Orgies. offen it was also described as debauched happy place. But just for dead people.

  • @dominikhimself Ohhhhhhh Thanks!

  • couldn't get enough of this song while playing Taiko

  • huh i thought it was a bit slower

  • Never again will I be able to listen to this piece of music without thinking of Robert DeNiro in drag.

  • Meheh... that was hilarious... Yay Gay Pirates!! XD

  • @seishinkyoudai

y u saying yay to urself?

  • Why not?

  • @frisco21 I hear this song and think of the Moulin Rouge.

  • @frisco21

    Stardust :)))))

  • @frisco21 that's right! i forgot it was in Stardust : )

  • @frisco21

    xD stardust ftw

  • finally we also got a composer who looks happy on his portraits and photos ;) great piece!

  • @mrwhypiano i dont think he looks happy just a bit smug hes thinking "bitches got owned" :3

  • @mrwhypiano

when you're writing such jovial music, how can you not look happy?

  • cool!
