you`re consideration ist correct. But It`s Orpheus, so the old greek Faith. And the Underworld was for the greeks not the definiton of Hell like in teh christian faith.

the "Underworld" where Orpheus went through, was a Place where souls, spirits, demons and shadowcreatures lived with anarchic chaos and bestial Orgies. offen it was also described as debauched happy place. But just for dead people.
