R9 is better for demon sins but i believe that for sage sins (like myself) barrier thorn nirvana would be better for the constant 4.0 aps and/or 5.0 with wind shield

@assassion330 That's what most people think, but 2.86 aps on a r9+12 sage sin is still very good. They can still permaspark with their sage skills, and they can tank a lot more than demon sins. BUT, a r9 4aps sparked demon sin will always have higher DPS than r9 sage sins.

@SkaiPW R9 4 aps demon sin and 4 aps base sage sin average out about the same when averaging spark and base damage. the more cost effective one tho in my opinion would have to be the 4 aps base. i understand that the R9 demon sins will hit harder because they have god of frenzy on their daggers. but in my personal opinion i'd have to say that it all comes down to whether or not you know how to play the class. i'm not bashing demon sins i'm just preferring sage.

@assassion330 Actually that's quite wrong. And this video proves the point even more. The main difference is that R9 daggers have the 30 attack levels on it, as well as God of Frenzy, AND g16 refines to boot. G13 would only have g13 refines and 4aps base. R9 is 2.86 base with every -int gear, but the 30 attack levels make a huge difference in attack power. And you can see that in this video. Sure it's biased being +12 on r9 and +10 on g13, but you can tell the damage difference easily.

@assassion330 In other words, a 2.86 r9 +12 sage sin will always outdamage a 4.00 g13 +12 sage sin, and a 4.00 r9 +12 demon sin will always have the highest dps in PvE, unless you specifically get the following attributes on a 2nd cast vana dagger: God of Frenzy, -int, max attack +130. If you have that, then 5.00 aps g15 +12 demon sin will very slightly outdamage the 4.00 r9 +12 sin. There has been research done on the Assassins subforum on the PWI forums.

@assassion330 While what you say can be true, it's just impossible to believe what you've said, mainly because I experienced first-hand what the calculators can do. I've done the calculating via PWCalc many times, and I know how you're thinking right now. I used to think like that, but once you experience it first-had ingame, it's shocking how wrong calculations can be. You said before that a 4.0 demon sparked r9 sin averages out at the same damage as a 4.0 base sage sin (sage spark/unsparked).

Both sage and demon sparks have the same damage increase, and in this video the g13 vana has the advantage of being 5.0 during the spark (as versus your 4.0 base/sage sparked in your comparison), and it didn't even come close to killing the mini boss in the time it took for the 4.0 demon sparked r9.

The main concept that threw me off on the calculators was attack levels. You can't see the difference on the calculator, but you can ingame.

@assassion330 That's the thing most people who don't know how powerful r9 daggers misconceive. High APS doesn't mean high DPS. Hitting at 2.86 APS with R9 does significantly more damage than 4.0 APS with g13. Both unsparked. You can choose not to believe this, but I know because I've already tested it.

But if you would rather choose a lower dps for the higher aps, it's of course what you said, people can choose whatever they want. I just chose the highest DPS in PvE possible in this game.

@assassion330 That makes more sense. But in truth, 2.86 Rank 8 at the same refines as G13 do about the same damage sparked as a demon. It may be different for a sin, but in terms of price efficiency, Rank 8 is more than enough to continue farming with. It's only 72 gold +2m for Rank 8 daggers (along with chest/legs for 1m each). But many players only want "APS" squads when farming easy things like Nirvana. In terms of price per damage, R9 > R8 > g13 at max APS.

ok skai this might be impossible, but if you know some 1 who got G15 vana daggers, like nether world, and you just happen to be alowed to borrow them, can you compare +12 G15 VS R9? 5 aps G15 VS 4 aps R9 would be sweet.

and you got any vid of when the R9 is +10 since +11 & +12 gives such a hughe amount of damage boost to compared to +10.

When you totally bored try your full dmg (all debuffs) on 100m HP boss at fish area. Dont forget to turn on dmg log on trade chat because we cant see dmg above the mob. Cheers
