Crimanally underrated. Ira is a guitar god. I saw them at the Xpondential Festival in Camden, NJ, and they blew me away.

I never understood that... anybody can masturbate a jazzmaster- sonic youth is empirical proof, but yo la tengo has amazingly catchy songs and don't need to do the pretend art bullshit. unlike sonic youth

The dude might not be the best guitar player but they craft great songs.

It's cool to experiment but, atonality doesnt equate going anywhere musicaly. I like what happen around the third minute, but the first one was not played so well. I'm not agreeing with Jimmy, but still, there was abit of a lack of focus. Still, im a big fan of yo la tango

my guess is the Jimster here didn't listen past the first few seconds of feedback to the actual song. also he probably wouldnt know experimental music if it hit him in the eye. Aah Ira is such an underrated guitarist. I wonder why he chose to play with his back to the audience. el oh el. This is definitely my favorite Yo La Tengo instrumental, and one of my favorite instrumentals of all time.
