I'm a die hard fan of the original line up, not ultra crazy about all the Hagar stuff but still listened to some of it. WE got DLR back in the line up, lets be happy. @gigisdad I don't know that Dave has EVER sang the songs very close to the record. From performances I've seen, from the early 80's, he barely sang at all. He pranced around, yelping and spouting out the same one liners as the previous few nights. He seems to take it more seriously these days, than he ever did, back in the day. He's been taken down a few pegs, since then, and realizes this is his last shot at the big time. Seems like the band is (finally) giving it their best try...
To mad & ren - it is amazing. I saw the Sammy & Dave tour, and he sounded like he was fresh out of VH. Then he takes over for Howard Stern, then when that fell through, the Van Halens reunite with Roth. He sounded then like he does now. I wonder if the radio gig robbed him of his voice. I saw the last tour with Roth...and thankfully Wolfie's background vocals carried the songs. Still, I'll go to the show more than likely. Eddie's playing like he's sober, so that's a good thing.

I was really hoping for something very cool.... After listening to this live spot I feel horribly sorry for this version of Van Halen. Roth's age and partying ways have caught up with his vocals... The quality of the recording doesn't sound bad either for being recorded on a mobile phone or video camera. After the record company, management, booking, promoters, unions, crews, and the countless others get their cut I hope the band can still make millions off this tour and album!!!

@gigisdad I don't know that Dave has EVER sang the songs very close to the record. From performances I've seen, from the early 80's, he barely sang at all. He pranced around, yelping and spouting out the same one liners as the previous few nights. He seems to take it more seriously these days, than he ever did, back in the day. He's been taken down a few pegs, since then, and realizes this is his last shot at the big time. Seems like the band is (finally) giving it their best try...

To mad & ren - it is amazing. I saw the Sammy & Dave tour, and he sounded like he was fresh out of VH. Then he takes over for Howard Stern, then when that fell through, the Van Halens reunite with Roth. He sounded then like he does now. I wonder if the radio gig robbed him of his voice. I saw the last tour with Roth...and thankfully Wolfie's background vocals carried the songs. Still, I'll go to the show more than likely. Eddie's playing like he's sober, so that's a good thing.
