I assume Beth has some creative input when her videos are made and both singles from Comfort of Strangers are set outdoors. I know she gave birth before (or during?) this album and it's interesting to see how she expresses this new motherhood phase of her life (especially since her own mother died when she was young). Her music itself has softened around the edges with a shift away from electronica. It's so enjoyable to follow a musician's evolution and hear the sound of their transformation!

This track is a bit too clean or commercial sounding and not quite as good as her earlier stuff. I still love the 'Trailer Park' album, which is a truly beautiful album and kinda stops me from really dissing anything that beth does, even this track.

I really like the puppets. I think it depends when you grew up. If you were part of the Dark Crystal/Labyrinth generation, I think you will see this differently. She is about my age so it makes more sense.
