it seemed VERY revolutionary at the time, as the first ROCK AND ROLL generation gap (not music or cultural) but now is essentially a stale idea, atleast the genre is. I wouldnt say some of the DIY ideals are. Punk certainly died when New Wave came about. Not that certain new wave bands arent good just ended the movement. Though you can credit punk as influening tremendous amounts of bands of the Alternative genre in the 80's and 90's. RIP Punk 1975-1978 whatever just my take on it.

He didn't even play on the first album, that was all Steve Jones. The only thing that idiot contributed was a sense of style.
