@scotlandguy Freakshows have always been a safe haven for people with physical disabilities. Talk to anybody who has ever worked for a sideshow the "freaks" were/are the highest paid and most respected performers in the shows. The fire eaters and sword swallowers and other "working" acts were below the freaks in status.
