Lack of progress inhibits a nation's potentials for improvement and advancement needed to succeed. Filipinos have the capacity to fulfill their potentials but without the means, they plateau and ends up poor. High Birth Rate is not to blame and RH or Abortion is not the solution, but on the contrary the more Babies born the better for a country because it's the population that makes for the Supply and Demand system work. I blame corruption. Make the people your priority not your fat bank accoun

AN IDEAL STRONGEST FORM OF DEMOCRACY INCLUDED (See Subchapter 3.1.2.1, Chapter 3, of Part One.).
Rh Bill is one of so many important policies the country needs but it is crucial to control the rapid population growth so children in slams or poor communities have better chance to get educated. Children with so many siblings in these areas are deprived of education if their parents are more concern about feeding the whole family than sending them to schools because of lack of modern family planning. Children will be productive citizens in the future if they acquire formal education.
Try funding a bill that would tax the rich more than the poor. Mas bibilib pa ko sa inyo. This RH bill will waste billions of pesos without even accomplishing anything. It's like building a house on ay foundation of sand. Why not put the countries money on sustainable economic growth bills, haven't heard any senator recommending this since it would be hard to explain to the public what fiscal stability is and it would be easier to just flaunt condoms. Just another case of grandstanding.
Instead of putting funds into this bill we should put it in "economic development'. This is a short term plan. It doesn't mean that if our population is reduced that there will be no poverty and malnutrition in the country. In a group of 10 people if none of them have 5 pesos to buy a loaf of bread all of them will starve. But if a guy with 100 pesos comes by and gives them bread, which he has lot's off, this will solve there problem.

MAG PEOPLE POWER ULIT para masulosyonan ?
If we would just take a good look at the history of the Roman Catholic church, it would be clear that this is the very same church that the revelations is warning us about. @alfvietnam Philippines is one of the four nations (Afghanistan, Bolivia and Haiti) that will almost quadruple the number of their population by the end of the century.
With the prices of fuel, water and electricity skyrocketing that translate to increases in prices of basic commodities, more poor Filipino families will experience hunger. The Phil has very unequal dissemination of educational opportunity across social classes due to rapid population growth in urban areas including Metro Manila
New Law Could Make Kansas The First Abortion-Free State; Inspections Begin :Operation Rescue
Operation Rescue® is one of the leading pro-life Christian activist organizations in the nation and has become the voice of the pro-life activist movement in America. Its activities are on the cutting edge of the abortion issue, taking direct action to restore legal personhood to the pre-born and st
@friech123 What is good about the US is states have different laws. If the laws of the state does not suit your lifestyle you can always move to another state. There are states that legalize same sex marriage but not all states adopt it, same as abortion now you mentioned Kansas.
In the Philippines, you can't stop abortion due to the struggle of providing a child the quality of life poor mothers want them to have and young mothers who are in situation where there is no alternative but to abort
@alfvietnam Surpassing India in BPO industry is nothing to be proud of. It means Philippines attract clients such as the US due to cheap labor. It's contributing to the economy to relieve the country from the burden of high unemployment but still insufficient in comparison to what other Asian countries like Malaysia and Indonesia are receiving in terms of foreign investments. Filipinos should focus on entrepreneurship, create new innovations using modern technology in order to compete globally.
@alfvietnam If you think Phil. is not overpopulated maybe you're born yesterday. It's the 12th most populous country in the world ahead of Canada, Russia and Australia. Each of these countries have more than three times the territory of the Phil. Italy and Phil are closer in territorial size but Italy is more than 35 million less population so what do these facts tell you? After several years of govt corruptions and lack of population control it will take time for Pnoy to make positive changes.
@alfvietnam Why do you think in provinces don't have enough jobs? It takes vast lands for agriculture and many of these vast lands are uninhabitable due to lack of roads to reach these remote areas. It will take economic development and progress to built new infrastructure for people to live in these remote places. Overpopulation is causing economic crisis, unless the population growth rate is minimized to keep up with the the economic growth, expect more Filipinos to continue to settle abroad.
@alfvietnam Why do you think many Filipinos are leaving the country in search for work in foreign countries unlike most Asians? It's due to overpopulation when availability of jobs is way insufficient in comparison to the number of job applicants. There aren't enough jobs in the provinces and with expanding population, people go to the cities where most jobs can be found. This makes Metro Manila one of the most densely populated in the world due to people coming from various provinces.
@alfvietnam Both corruption and overpopulation are major problem in the country. If Pnoy can do something to prevent further rapid population growth and the burden of more people living in poverty he is doing his job unlike his predecessor. Would you want the country to have 30 million more people or half of it 15 years from now?
@alfvietnam I agree corruption is always been the problem but the system being used to eradicate corruption has many flaws.
@alfvietnam Phil has small territory unlike China, US and India so allowing it to compete with those nations with vast territories, sufficient resources and good economic structure in terms of population is irrational. The country is already experiencing limited resources, relying more on imports and migrant workers abroad. Disregarding impoverished people to increase rapidly will bring the country in deeper economic hole instead of focusing on new innovations, higher quality of education etc
The Philippines is known to be the only predominantly Catholic country in Southeast Asia. The traditions and culture of the Filipinos are shaped and nurtured by the Catholic Church which guided them through the supernatural world. But it doesn't mean that the church is always right.
@pedrokomentaryo The Catholic Church think they're always right and so are the brainwashed faithfuls including lawmakers who always side with them against modern family planning, ignoring their responsibility to give Filipinos the opportunity to quality of life they deserve. Living in a densely populated nation have numerous disadvantages the previous Phil leaders disregarded for adhering to the Catholic Church's position on birth control. Now, we're living the consequences of their negligence.
If the government just develop the whole country para i-spread yung population, baka umunlad tayo. Yung mga malalaglag ng mga "contraceptives" na yan eh baka sila pa sana yung mag aahon ng bansa natin sa kahirpan.
For this reason Filipinos need to think for their future in deciding their birth control. According to the Philippine National Statistic Office (NSO) the population of our country in 2010 is approximately 91,983,000; this means approximately 2 million babies are born in the Philippines every year and Manila alone had a population of 10 million. And in this present economy of ours I can see half of it was hungry or starving.
Overpopulation in our country is not a myth it's a documented fact. The Philippines is one of the most populated countries in the world in relation to its land mass.
According to the study of NSO (National Statistic Office) among Filipino women, the lifetime risk of dying from maternal causes is one in 100. And maternal deaths contribute 14 percent of all deaths in women aged 15-49 years. .
Without legal artificial contraceptive, women with unwanted pregnancy for various reasons (mostly poverty) will resulted to an illegal abortion which in the eyes of God and Law is a mortal sin. Some politicians who are against this RH (Reproductive Health) bill said that population growth make economic sense.
They cited China and India, because of their large population these countries economy is booming. But they didn't mention that those countries had a strict policies on their birth control. In fact China had a one child policy, otherwise the family will be penalized known as (social compensation fee). The fee for the penalty is an amount which is four times bigger than the annual income of the ordinary Chinese.
In its January 2010 Labor Force Survey the NSO said, that the number of unemployed Filipinos was 2.8 million, not to mention the incoming march graduate.
We should think that we are in a third world country category, and we should think that we need to develop ourselves to have a good standard of living. How can we do it if we cannot control our population? How can a Filipino bread winner feed and educate his big family if he doesn't have enough for himself, and how can he go to church and pray if his mind and stomach is starving. Let us be practical and we should not be hypocrite.
Despite of our minute economic growth, poverty is on the rise and many economists believed that one of the reasons is a rapid population growth. They said that our economy and our society will be better if we addressed this population problem at least two decades ago. But until now we are still reluctant to face this problem.
Church believed in the natural law of contraception, and the church believed that the artificial contraception is against the natural law. But another more recent NSO survey results shows that 70 percent (70%) of ordinary Filipinos believed that the government should be required by law to distribute contraceptives. It will come to a question that, is the government had been dictated by the church rather than the will of the ordinary citizen?
Celdran is no different from anyone else because he's gay. He believes RH bill is one solution for minimizing poverty. The continuing meddling of Catholic Church in govt affairs and his vast knowledge of Phil history particularly on Rizal's works made him protest against the bishops which he consider a freedom of speech rights similar to what they are doing against the govt. Is it fair if ordinary citizen voices his opinion on CBCP compare to their stance against govt's duty to pass the RH bill?
I've seen the RH Bill: The Grand Debate and frankly I'm disappointed. There's not enough time for each debater to answer their questions especially for the more hard to explained situation like what kind of contraceptives are abortifacients? Carlos Celdrans' question to Bacani is not about the RH Bill, but rather about himself, way to waste a perfect good question!
@rytsign69 You feel sorry for anti RH debaters, you know they did a poor job in that debate. They were going in circles with their arguments or simply have limited justification against RH bill. Carlos was stating the fact that the Catholic Church don't give a damn after he already apologized for his actions, they're still pursuing a case against him so why should we respect them if they can not accept an apology from someone calling them Damaso? If you think about it bishop Bacani could be worse
@tcrusader1 with 1 minute of explanation on a topic as broad as the RH Bill, contraceptives, womens' health, and all of them are interconnected, of course I would feel sorry for the anti RH debaters, they have to explain a lot more comared to the pro RH debater. Though poorly debated, it is not the only debate that I have watched, Harapan:RH Bill, for example, where debaters are put in front of each other and wrestle it out, though messy, clarify most of the issue put in front of them.
@tcrusader1 As for the question Celdran posted, is his question relevant to the RH Bill, or is it just about himself? I think he's just holding a grudge against the Catholic Church, without giving any though to the RH Bill when he posted that question. Remember, the Catholic Church is just one facet that opposes the bill, it is not the only one opposing it. I wish he would set aside his grudge and ask a thorough question like why is the Catholic Church against the bill?
@rytsign69 He could have asked other questions, I agree, but prior to his turn to ask question bishop Bacani mentioned that procreation is for opposite sexes and does not involve gays. Carlos wants to clarify if gays like himself are accepted in the Catholic Church based on Bacani's earlier comment which seems resentment towards gays sexual orientation. The issue between him and the church wasn't resolved, it was his opportunity to ask.
@tcrusader1 Of course procreation is for opposite sex only, do gays ever get pregnant? The Church must side with whats natural of course, meaning the natural meaning of sex, which is procreation and the unity of both men and women. Carlos Celdran position on being Catholic and being against the teachings of the Church is kind of hypocritical, dont you think? He say he's catholic but doesn't believe in what the Catholic church teaches.
Why the UN is eager to promote population management to less developed countries (LDC), RH in our country..??
they see us a THREAT...1st world countries, european countries are experiencing DEMOGRAPHIC COLAPSE, meaning, more OLDs than young..since the UN, EU is runned by these powerful countries, they can craft treatise, resolution and to fund millions of dollars to suppress the boom of people in the 3rd world..
STUPID DEBATE! WHY DON'T THEY COMBINE THEM TOGETHER BETWEEN "FAMILY PLANNING" AND FAMILY PLANTING? ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS PLANTING FIRST THEN PLANNING BEFORE YOU CUM HEHEHE! EKA NGA NI PACMAN DIVIDED WE FALL, UNITED WE FALL HEHEHE.....
The bevieved of many pilipinos is the downful of marcos is the worked of the EVIL ROMAN CATHOLIC BISHOPS because of his stand in family planning similar to the donwful of erap because of his stand to fight against MUSLIM SEPARATIST basta mabuting presidente at matalino TUTUMBAHIN NILA gusto nila iyong kayang KAYA makontrol at madektahan tulad nila cory aquino a weak president, and arroyo a wicked president, dapat mainvestiga ng senado itong pagkasira ng ating bansa SA pakikialam ng obispo
I watched this debate, the pro RH debaters were clearly the winner of the debate. Rep. Magsaysay did not answer Rep Garin why the poor never progressed in the last 25 yrs attributed to dwindling budget as their population exceeds the sustainability. Magsaysay blames the govt mismanagement and kept reverting to education as the main solution. Fist of all, its common sense if the govt have diminishing budget and poor parents hardly manage a large family how can they educate all the poor children?
Philippines is a democratic country..the problem is Catholicism, that dominated the country since it was introduced more than 400 yrs ago, feel that exercising more freedom and democracy is a threat against their principles fearing their authority they have enjoyed for so long is at risk.
Constitutional laws should be amended to define the country as clearly a secular state, distance itself from any religious influence because fundamentalism impedes acceleration of progress and modernization.
The increasing and overwhelming population particularly in the lower class is definitely a liability that is draining the government budget that's putting a strain on other budgets to build new infrastructure- canals and sewer system, public schools, roads, hospitals, etc. Taxpayers are subsidizing to help a large number of poor population who are not paying taxes. As a result, they're paying extra on utility bills. Electric bill in the Philippines is second most expensive in Asia after Japan.
@tcrusader1 I see, LOL. Thats why President Noynoy, dont have the money to buy that brand new Porsche worth 12 Million. Thats why those Corrupt Politicians wasn't able to buy those overpriced Fertilizers, Those Overpriced Rice stocks. Thats why C.O.A. dont have prob having 2Bil Pesos lost due to Corruption....No wait, they did. They just wasted my money, my time, my effort and then with great ingenuity shifted the blame from them to the poor, how cunning, how devious.
@rytsign69 Poverty breeds corruption, that's happening in Philippines. If government officials feel they're underpaid to suit their aristocrat lifestyle they are tempted to commit illegal transactions and if the government is still using outdated monitoring system they can't deter this type of corruption. People wonder why we're losing P30 B annually on corruptions alone..that could be one cause besides negligence of agencies(Ombudsman) that investigate embezzlement and other corruptions.
@tcrusader1 if Poverty breeds corruption, and poverty equals high population, then Africa no longer have any problem of Corruption. Oh wait, they still do. Corruption is endemic in society, even in the most advance and developed countries. The solution is finding an effective way of curbing these corruptions. Africa have been using contraceptives for how many years, but why there are still no development? They have the resources, the land and the aid, what could be missing? Their workers r gone.
@rytsign69 There will be corruption in any country but it is more prevalent in certain countries, Philippines is one. It seems successive governments after Marcos haven't learned much why he was ousted from power. Political opponents continuous negative criticism to defame every president is not much help. Other problems of previous president's obvious misconducts such as hiring family members in top positions even its not violating the Constitution is good indication of their true nature.
@tcrusader1 Right! and do you know why the successive government didn't learn anything? Because they are that previous ruling party from when Marcos is in Power! Marcos is an obvious target because he's the president, therefore much attention is given unto him, the other more stealthy ones are waiting, biding their time and when EDSA 1 comes rolling in, they jump wagon and began calling to oust Marcos. like fleas that stray from dog to dog, protecting their legacy of corruptions.
@rytsign69 You failed to mention why Marcos was ousted, it is clearly because of his authoritarian rule that put fear on all his political enemies. The declaration of Martial Law allowed him to stay in power longer than expected. He controlled everything, including the media. When he won the 1986 election declaring himself the winner in a snap election, people couldn't take his abuse of power anymore. The assassination of his major political rival Ninoy compelled people to take drastic action.
@tcrusader1 yes Marcos is ousted, I will not deny that. would you say the same about his cronies? Fidel Ramos was one of his cronies , he knows full well the extent of corruption of Marcos, why Marcos even gave him a Rolex watch along with six other in the infamous account "Rolex Seven". When Marcos is receiving pressure from the US Gov't and the beginning of the EDSA I, didn't Ramos jump boat and sided with the EDSA I in the last minute, not before EDSA was in infancy.
@tcrusader1 Why do you think these corruptions being exposed today? Why not during Ramos times? Because of education and the Internet. As more and and more people are becoming educated, they began to see these corruptions happening and think that something is not right. and the popularity of the internet makes the information accessible to all. I am distraught that in the budget of education in the 2011 budget will be reduced to 900 million from the previous 1.3 billion.
@rytsign69 Ramos has done a good job as president. There was no corruption scandal during his term unlike his successors. There are valid as well as misinformation going on in the internet. You can detect bad information if you do more thorough research and the legitimacy of the site. His budget message last year, the Dept of Ed. this year is P207.3 B from P175 B last year, P32.3 B increase so you're way off.
@tcrusader1 My information was from a proposed budget, not the ratifed one, if I misinformed you, I am sorry. But during the proposed budget hearing, It was proposed by Aquino to cut budget of SCU's by 1.7% in hearing. I am glad that the budget on Education now, has been given the highest allocation next to DPWH. Education is the only solution based on studies that has successfully alleviated poverty. So we are taking the right step on this one.
@rytsign69 The 3B RH bill annual investment on providing the poor so they can properly manage the number of their children, to give them the chance to benefit from the education budget P207.3 B this year and could increase the following years to come, now we have a new president..is very good investment for the future to mitigate the growing problems of overpopulation such as illiteracy, pollutions, inflation, diminishing resources, urbanisation in Metro Manila and other cities, etc.
@tcrusader1 Actually, in the Index Mundi website, the population growth rate of the Philippines has begun to decline steadily by .3% in the last 4 years. So even without the use of Contraceptives, the Phil PGR has been steadily declining. If this continues, without any use of contraceptives, the Gov't would have save more than 3B pesos and have the desired population density.
@tcrusader1 Scratch out what I said about the budget for education, I seem to have been misinformed about the amount given to the education department. sorry for the mix up.
@tcrusader1 And when their workers are gone, no economic growth can happen, meaning people will still be poor, then Corrupt Politicians will still be corrupt because no Anti Corruption measures are still in place.
We don't own our lives, and therefore noone has the right to legislate a law that legalizes killing of the unborn. Further, if we have a high self worth then we should not in any way be swayed towards the thinking of people who look at the use of contraceptives as a way to relieve themselves of their sexual urges anytime they desire. As humans God has created us with our heads above our reproductive organs and so our urges must not rule over our minds.
@uppepmom1 its pro CHOICE not abortion.if wlang na conceived, wlag maaabort, wlng ma3tay.have you gone to depress areas?, hve you tried tlking to those who are ignornt about plnned prenthood and neglect the right of their children ksi di n nila maasikaso dhil s sobrng dmi ng ank nla..? hve u seen kids n di n pnagaral ng mgulang ksi sa dami nila di kasya ang sweldo sa pngkain plang nila..nkkita ka n b ng mga mgulang n ank ng ank at pinmimigy at binibnta nlang ang ank nila dhil sa dmi?
@cassey05 if it pro Choice then there is no need to legislate it. All these contraceptives are readily available at the centers I know because my brother is a medical doctor. Of course i know of people in the depressed areas who just bring forth children into this world irresponsibly but the solution to what you call their "ignorance" is not the contraceptives. Make them productive by teaching them livelihoods and do your own small share as a christian minister to them.
the constitution states that "life must be protected at the start of conception..." so what the pills do??/it does not only prohibits conception..when the pills fails to prohibit conception, the second mode of action is to prohibit the IMPLANTATION (which takes place hours AFTER conception) Is it not killing? is it not unconstitutional???
- Ang sagot Human life begins at Fertilization of course. A Sperm cell is not a human being and so is an Egg cell. It will only become human life when they meet and unite with each other.
"it does not only prohibits conception..when the pills fails to prohibit conception, the second mode of action is to prohibit the IMPLANTATION (which takes place hours AFTER conception) Is it not killing?"
- That's precisely why we need to have the RH Bill passed so that the use of these Pills would be regulated by the Gov't. Women will actually be educated as to the proper use of these Contraceptives so that those so called failure rate would be greatly diminished.
@TeeJoe18 I respect your opinion. I'd rather be a "Bangag" standing up for what is morally upright rather than be sorry when I meet my final judgement because I have been instrumental in leading other people to go against my Creator's commandments. God has created the woman to have her fertile and infertile days, and so DISCIPLINE is the key to controlling the number of your children. I will just pray for people like you to be enlightened.
" I'd rather be a "Bangag" standing up for what is morally upright rather than be sorry when I meet my final judgement because I have been instrumental in leading other people to go against my Creator's commandments."
@uppepmom1, (1 Corinthians 7:4-5) The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another except with consent for a time, that you may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together again so that Satan does not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
"As humans God has created us with our heads above our reproductive organs and so our urges must not rule over our minds."
- Sorry, but that's probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! And maybe you don't know it but everything we do including our human urges emanates the Mind.
"if we have a high self worth then we should not in any way be swayed towards the thinking of people who look at the use of contraceptives as a way to relieve themselves of their sexual urges anytime they desire."
- But what about if you use it to control the number of children you have. Do you know that the Pill even use as a treatment for Female Infertility? And how about using condoms to prevent the spread of Venereal Diseases? Even Pope Benedict agreed to that.
@TeeJoe18 Read manuscripts regarding the issue you're trying to defend. Remember, even Mosses had to bite the bullet when he allowed people to divorce. Why? Because people are by nature rebels they always want to go against norms and wants to play God. The issue about RH Bill is definitely not to protect mothers, but more of the MONEY issue that the proponents will be receiving from the drug companies lobbying for its passsage.
"Why? Because people are by nature rebels they always want to go against norms and wants to play God."
- I think that applies more to the Bishops and Priests who likes to play God when in fact they caouldn;t even site a single passage in the Bible that says God is against the use of contraception to control the number of children.
@TeeJoe18 Please be respectful. These are God's messengers and they're just doing their morale obligation of enlightening people with issues that touches on public morals. Keep your vicious thoughts to yourself and show your good breeding. OK!
" The issue about RH Bill is definitely not to protect mothers, but more of the MONEY"
- Actually, you can say exactly the same thing with Catholic institutions running those very expensive and exclusive Private Schools and telling the Gov't that those are "Non Profit" Ventures
RH Bill proponents keeps on harping about the protection of the rights of the poor, if indeed these lawmakers are sincere in looking after the health and welfare of the indigents, then why do you insist on pushing for it knowing that the pills and injectables causes cancer?
@uppepmom1 There is no scientific evidence that contraceptives causes cancer, but only increases the risk if a woman is using it for prolonged period, 5 years or more, so there is a condom, IUD as options to reduce the risk.
Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion and birth control provider in the US. has been exposed to have provided overpriced condoms and birth control pills to the US Government, now what guarantee that this condoms and pills will not waste my hard earned tax payed pesos through over pricing? NONE! Rice is Over priced! Fertilizer is Over Priced!! This pills and Birth Control will still waste my money through Over pricing!!!
@PivAd123 Are you daft Man?! No Expert will agree on you on this, whats worst is using my Hard Earned cash to line the pockets of corrupt Politicians and Pharmaceutical Companies instead of giving to those less fortunate my money. And then these same Politicians and Companies blame the Poor that because they are poor is because they have many children!!!! 2 billion our pesos are being pilfered by corrupt politicians and now they have the Gall to call the Poor the reason the Filipinos are poor!!!
@rytsign69 But then, it's worse giving 2000 people rather than keep 1000 people.
more population = more waste on resources. As the population rises, the amount you need to donate must be higher.
And, this RH bill isn't going to waste a lot of money, a lot of people are paying taxes, so i presume some also go to the donations and programs for the poor.
Also, you can give donations to poor people yourself.
@PivAd123 did you not get my last comment? Higher populations growth = higher economic growth. the populations is not a waste of resources rather an investment that could bring in big bucks. If it weren't for population we wouldn't have OFW that greatly help our economy during the big crash of wall st. in US. Human Resources is never a waste of resources, just ask any Economic Expert on this, the problem is corruption because corruption takes the money needed for job generation and other stuff.
Even the fact that our population is high, it doesn't mean it's a higher economic growth. There are people who don't help too, especially those poor people. (Doesn't mean they don't contribute at all, a lot of them help too)
And, the fact that there aren't enough jobs (as far as I know) or and the fact that there aren't enough graduate kinda makes them useless (but not completely... you know what I mean)
@PivAd123 The fact that there are not enough jobs is because Corrupt Politicians keep pilfering the funds which should be used to generate those jobs (look at my previous comments). It force filipino to leave their love ones for distant land in order to find jobs for those who can afford it. The rest of those who couldn't afford going abroad are forced to find jobs here. First, get rid of those corrupt politicians that are clogging the veins of funding and maybe, just maybe we can debate it.
@rytsign69 yes sir I agree with you that population is an investment, meaning it costs money. Anything that costs you money is a liabilities. If you have limited money to invest in, wouldn't it be nice to also limit your liabilities+population?
@annori88 you really don't get it, do you? Rule of Thumbs in good Investments "It takes money to make money" the problem is if the Investment cost outweigh the benefits, then it becomes a liability. The Population has been proven to be an assets from the start (See the number of population increase, has increase the amount of migrant workers working abroad therefore increase in revenue for the government.
@annori88 If funding are your problem, according to C.O.A. (Comission on Audit), 2Billion of our Taxed paid Pesos are floating around and are lost due to corruption. If we spend our resources hunting down those corrupt politicians instead of funding useless Bill like this RH, then we will have enough resources to fund future investments of this soon to be money makers.
@PivAd123 I hope these "donations" doesn't end up in the pockets of Corrupt Politicians or else it will really be a waste of money, resources, and time.
@PivAd123 right, so we must first demolished those corrupt politicians before we tackle the RH Bill or else, the RH Bill will serve as a hindrance for economic growth because those corrupt politicians will suck out the funding before it could be use for good use.
@PivAd123 I would rather urge you to read about the RH Bill. Learn what you can about both sides, the for and the against and made a conclusion base on your findings.
@PivAd123 But the point still stands, with an overpriced condoms, Politicians will resort to more "creative" means of procuring funding like: cutting infrastructure funding to buy contraceptives, cutting health benefits of the poor and elderly to buy contraceptives, cutting school supplies funding to buy contraceptives. Hell, overpopulation is such a worse problem, maybe we should cut out all unnecessary funding to buy these soon to be over-priced condoms!!!
@PivAd123 "with less population, there is a less need to create infrastructure". That would lead to less growth of the economy, which is BAD!! Ask any true economic experts that increase in growth of populations equals increase in growth in economy, look at China, with over 1.4 billion people is now an economic superpower!! And I'm sure the Data does not support passing the RH Bill, in the pass 30 years, the pop. growth rate of the Philippine has been steadily declining to 1.3 from 2.1.
@rytsign69 China has economic superpower because THEY are creatively SMART and their population is controlled, even if it's overpopulated, they have ways to use their population for good.
Look here, overpopulation. OVER. that's why less is good nowadays. I didn't say that reduce the population to 0, i said reduce to NORMAL. Also, our population isn't used for good. The poor people? They're just there, lucky if they study.
And I can't argue with the steady declining of the growth rate. So, yeah
@rytsign69 You failed to mention that China has much larger territory to accommodate 1.4 billion Chinese than in the Philippines and since they implemented strict 1 child policy they prevented 40 million from adding to their current population. How are they going to sustain extra 40 million to their population? Despite their economic success millions are still living in poverty.
@tcrusader1 Look what the one Child Policy did to China, an Imbalance Gender ratio of males to females. Since male is much prefered and favorable in China, there are now more male who are unable to find a wife. Also look at a secret controlled situation done on Yicheng China " /watch?v=s9kdQLQYT5w " when the government tries to find out what happen when China did not adopt the 1 child policy.
The Chinese are aware that males are more productive in the workforce which is the reason Chinese women prefer son than a daughter. In communist county with strict laws they have no choice but follow the regulations or face the consequences. After so many years they have adjusted to 1 child policy they think it's good for China comparing to other nations where poverty is prevalent for disregarding population growth. They owe their economic success to that policy. watch?v=H4OWJlyaHt0
@tcrusader1 Which is why there is gender imbalance in the first place. Now try to see what happens when more single males are in a community? A lot of them are experiencing depression and anxiety due to being lonely, does it do good on their mental health? No. and when a person is in a state of depression and anxiety, it greatly impact their performance, and the economic performance for that. Anti-depressant drugs help but it will never be a solution.
@rytsign69 It's something Chinese men have to deal with that forces most of them join the military to keep their mind off women lol, a sacrifice they're willing to take for their country to achieve economic success. Still, their population continue to grow but at slower pace which is necessary in the most populated country in the world. There are more wealthy Chinese now who can afford to pay the penalty to their government for deciding to add more child in the family.
@tcrusader1 are the Chinese the same mentality as the filipinos? Do you think they are willing to make that same sacrifice to for economic success? The filipinos value family above anything else so applying Communist Chinese policy will not work on the filipino people. I could wish that the filipinos were as disciplined as the Chinese, but I pray that we may find the answer to these questions without resorting to population control.
@rytsign69 As long as Filipinos adhere to family oriented traditions and Catholic religious values that would be very difficult. Having a large family have advantages depending on your level of income. The general population have more disadvantages on economic side. This is what RH advocates are fighting for, to give the general population proper education and informed choice on the number of their children they can provide or in the future the govt will have no choice but enforce 1 child policy
@tcrusader1 So you want to change filipino values, traditions and culture. This is what happens to Africa, The American Gov't refuses aid to Africa unless they use contraceptive and now look how f***k up they are now. 80% of the provisions of the RH Bill is already given in the Magna Carta of women (RA 9710) and it was not implemented thoroughly, if the RH Bill is passed, will it be implemented thoroughly? The answer is no, as long as corrupt politicians is in place, no program will work.
@rytsign69 Unless Filipinos want to progress economically, its important to apply discipline to limit the number of children while keeping their values and traditions. Magna Carta for women addresses the rights of women, who have been discriminated prior to its implementation, to receive social services but family planning and reproductive health wasn't fully included. Noynoy is doing his best, reducing govt corruptions diligently to get favorable support from the people but it will take time.
@tcrusader1 I agree with you that filipinos should apply discipline in having the number of children and many Catholics are practicing it. The trick is education, and hunting those corrupt politicians, unclog the funding needed for education. If Noynoy is doing it his best, well, a cookie for him.
@tcrusader1 "the Gov't will have no choice but enforce 1 child policy". funny how Lagman drops the "ideal famiy size" from the bill, which means that the author of the RH Bill has also conceded that the filipinos do not want to limit the numbers of their children and that the Gov't have no right to intrude on the will of the families. The 1 child policy happens only in communist China. We filipinos are democratic so the Gov't plans for 1 child will never work.
@tcrusader1 The one child policy in China has left thousands of people in poverty line because of the cost of having another child. The couple seeking to have another child must pay the Government an amount 10 times their annual income, leaving them without any capital to sustain them, meaning they become poor. Therefore, there could be a direct link between the one child policy in China and their poverty.
there is the study that says, a couple would need at l000 pesos EVERY MONTH for the contraceptives, since majority cant afford it, the government shall subsidize it through the RH BILL.and there are 20 million in our population in the reproductive stage, half of it would need subsidy.doing math, our govt needs 10 billion pesos a month to buy CONTRACEPTIVES...WOW...that is why, these drug companies push hard.
what is 5 million each for the congressman these drug companies give

Lack of progress inhibits a nation's potentials for improvement and advancement needed to succeed. Filipinos have the capacity to fulfill their potentials but without the means, they plateau and ends up poor. High Birth Rate is not to blame and RH or Abortion is not the solution, but on the contrary the more Babies born the better for a country because it's the population that makes for the Supply and Demand system work.

Filipinos should focus on entrepreneurship, create new innovations using modern technology in order to compete globally.
tcrusader1 8 months ago
@alfvietnam If you think Phil. is not overpopulated maybe you're born yesterday. It's the 12th most populous country in the world ahead of Canada, Russia and Australia. Each of these countries have more than three times the territory of the Phil. Italy and Phil are closer in territorial size but Italy is more than 35 million less population so what do these facts tell you? After several years of govt corruptions and lack of population control it will take time for Pnoy to make positive changes.
tcrusader1 8 months ago
@alfvietnam Why do you think in provinces don't have enough jobs? It takes vast lands for agriculture and many of these vast lands are uninhabitable due to lack of roads to reach these remote areas. It will take economic development and progress to built new infrastructure for people to live in these remote places. Overpopulation is causing economic crisis, unless the population growth rate is minimized to keep up with the the economic growth, expect more Filipinos to continue to settle abroad.
tcrusader1 8 months ago
@alfvietnam Why do you think many Filipinos are leaving the country in search for work in foreign countries unlike most Asians? It's due to overpopulation when availability of jobs is way insufficient in comparison to the number of job applicants. There aren't enough jobs in the provinces and with expanding population, people go to the cities where most jobs can be found. This makes Metro Manila one of the most densely populated in the world due to people coming from various provinces.
tcrusader1 8 months ago
@alfvietnam Both corruption and overpopulation are major problem in the country. If Pnoy can do something to prevent further rapid population growth and the burden of more people living in poverty he is doing his job unlike his predecessor. Would you want the country to have 30 million more people or half of it 15 years from now?
tcrusader1 8 months ago

But it doesn't mean that the church is always right.
pedrokomentaryo 9 months ago
@pedrokomentaryo The Catholic Church think they're always right and so are the brainwashed faithfuls including lawmakers who always side with them against modern family planning, ignoring their responsibility to give Filipinos the opportunity to quality of life they deserve. Living in a densely populated nation have numerous disadvantages the previous Phil leaders disregarded for adhering to the Catholic Church's position on birth control. Now, we're living the consequences of their negligence.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
If the government just develop the whole country para i-spread yung population, baka umunlad tayo. Yung mga malalaglag ng mga "contraceptives" na yan eh baka sila pa sana yung mag aahon ng bansa natin sa kahirpan.
attypulpol 9 months ago
For this reason Filipinos need to think for their future in deciding their birth control. According to the Philippine National Statistic Office (NSO) the population of our country in 2010 is approximately 91,983,000; this means approximately 2 million babies are born in the Philippines every year and Manila alone had a population of 10 million. And in this present economy of ours I can see half of it was hungry or starving.
pedrokomentaryo 9 months ago
Overpopulation in our country is not a myth it's a documented fact. The Philippines is one of the most populated countries in the world in relation to its land mass.
According to the study of NSO (National Statistic Office) among Filipino women, the lifetime risk of dying from maternal causes is one in 100. And maternal deaths contribute 14 percent of all deaths in women aged 15-49 years. .

Carlos Celdrans' question to Bacani is not about the RH Bill, but rather about himself, way to waste a perfect good question!
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 You feel sorry for anti RH debaters, you know they did a poor job in that debate. They were going in circles with their arguments or simply have limited justification against RH bill. Carlos was stating the fact that the Catholic Church don't give a damn after he already apologized for his actions, they're still pursuing a case against him so why should we respect them if they can not accept an apology from someone calling them Damaso? If you think about it bishop Bacani could be worse
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 with 1 minute of explanation on a topic as broad as the RH Bill, contraceptives, womens' health, and all of them are interconnected, of course I would feel sorry for the anti RH debaters, they have to explain a lot more comared to the pro RH debater. Though poorly debated, it is not the only debate that I have watched, Harapan:RH Bill, for example, where debaters are put in front of each other and wrestle it out, though messy, clarify most of the issue put in front of them.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 As for the question Celdran posted, is his question relevant to the RH Bill, or is it just about himself? I think he's just holding a grudge against the Catholic Church, without giving any though to the RH Bill when he posted that question. Remember, the Catholic Church is just one facet that opposes the bill, it is not the only one opposing it. I wish he would set aside his grudge and ask a thorough question like why is the Catholic Church against the bill?
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 He could have asked other questions, I agree, but prior to his turn to ask question bishop Bacani mentioned that procreation is for opposite sexes and does not involve gays. Carlos wants to clarify if gays like himself are accepted in the Catholic Church based on Bacani's earlier comment which seems resentment towards gays sexual orientation. The issue between him and the church wasn't resolved, it was his opportunity to ask.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Of course procreation is for opposite sex only, do gays ever get pregnant? The Church must side with whats natural of course, meaning the natural meaning of sex, which is procreation and the unity of both men and women. Carlos Celdran position on being Catholic and being against the teachings of the Church is kind of hypocritical, dont you think? He say he's catholic but doesn't believe in what the Catholic church teaches.

they see us a THREAT...1st world countries, european countries are experiencing DEMOGRAPHIC COLAPSE, meaning, more OLDs than young..since the UN, EU is runned by these powerful countries, they can craft treatise, resolution and to fund millions of dollars to suppress the boom of people in the 3rd world..

Constitutional laws should be amended to define the country as clearly a secular state, distance itself from any religious influence because fundamentalism impedes acceleration of progress and modernization.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
The increasing and overwhelming population particularly in the lower class is definitely a liability that is draining the government budget that's putting a strain on other budgets to build new infrastructure- canals and sewer system, public schools, roads, hospitals, etc. Taxpayers are subsidizing to help a large number of poor population who are not paying taxes. As a result, they're paying extra on utility bills. Electric bill in the Philippines is second most expensive in Asia after Japan.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 I see, LOL. Thats why President Noynoy, dont have the money to buy that brand new Porsche worth 12 Million. Thats why those Corrupt Politicians wasn't able to buy those overpriced Fertilizers, Those Overpriced Rice stocks. Thats why C.O.A. dont have prob having 2Bil Pesos lost due to Corruption....No wait, they did. They just wasted my money, my time, my effort and then with great ingenuity shifted the blame from them to the poor, how cunning, how devious.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Poverty breeds corruption, that's happening in Philippines. If government officials feel they're underpaid to suit their aristocrat lifestyle they are tempted to commit illegal transactions and if the government is still using outdated monitoring system they can't deter this type of corruption. People wonder why we're losing P30 B annually on corruptions alone..that could be one cause besides negligence of agencies(Ombudsman) that investigate embezzlement and other corruptions.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 if Poverty breeds corruption, and poverty equals high population, then Africa no longer have any problem of Corruption. Oh wait, they still do. Corruption is endemic in society, even in the most advance and developed countries. The solution is finding an effective way of curbing these corruptions. Africa have been using contraceptives for how many years, but why there are still no development? They have the resources, the land and the aid, what could be missing? Their workers r gone.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 There will be corruption in any country but it is more prevalent in certain countries, Philippines is one. It seems successive governments after Marcos haven't learned much why he was ousted from power. Political opponents continuous negative criticism to defame every president is not much help. Other problems of previous president's obvious misconducts such as hiring family members in top positions even its not violating the Constitution is good indication of their true nature.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Right! and do you know why the successive government didn't learn anything? Because they are that previous ruling party from when Marcos is in Power! Marcos is an obvious target because he's the president, therefore much attention is given unto him, the other more stealthy ones are waiting, biding their time and when EDSA 1 comes rolling in, they jump wagon and began calling to oust Marcos. like fleas that stray from dog to dog, protecting their legacy of corruptions.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 You failed to mention why Marcos was ousted, it is clearly because of his authoritarian rule that put fear on all his political enemies. The declaration of Martial Law allowed him to stay in power longer than expected. He controlled everything, including the media. When he won the 1986 election declaring himself the winner in a snap election, people couldn't take his abuse of power anymore. The assassination of his major political rival Ninoy compelled people to take drastic action.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 yes Marcos is ousted, I will not deny that. would you say the same about his cronies? Fidel Ramos was one of his cronies , he knows full well the extent of corruption of Marcos, why Marcos even gave him a Rolex watch along with six other in the infamous account "Rolex Seven". When Marcos is receiving pressure from the US Gov't and the beginning of the EDSA I, didn't Ramos jump boat and sided with the EDSA I in the last minute, not before EDSA was in infancy.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Correction about the "Rolex seven" its not actually seven but "Rolex Twelve"
rytsign69 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Why do you think these corruptions being exposed today? Why not during Ramos times? Because of education and the Internet. As more and and more people are becoming educated, they began to see these corruptions happening and think that something is not right. and the popularity of the internet makes the information accessible to all. I am distraught that in the budget of education in the 2011 budget will be reduced to 900 million from the previous 1.3 billion.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Ramos has done a good job as president. There was no corruption scandal during his term unlike his successors. There are valid as well as misinformation going on in the internet. You can detect bad information if you do more thorough research and the legitimacy of the site. His budget message last year, the Dept of Ed. this year is P207.3 B from P175 B last year, P32.3 B increase so you're way off.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 My information was from a proposed budget, not the ratifed one, if I misinformed you, I am sorry. But during the proposed budget hearing, It was proposed by Aquino to cut budget of SCU's by 1.7% in hearing. I am glad that the budget on Education now, has been given the highest allocation next to DPWH. Education is the only solution based on studies that has successfully alleviated poverty. So we are taking the right step on this one.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 The 3B RH bill annual investment on providing the poor so they can properly manage the number of their children, to give them the chance to benefit from the education budget P207.3 B this year and could increase the following years to come, now we have a new president..is very good investment for the future to mitigate the growing problems of overpopulation such as illiteracy, pollutions, inflation, diminishing resources, urbanisation in Metro Manila and other cities, etc.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Actually, in the Index Mundi website, the population growth rate of the Philippines has begun to decline steadily by .3% in the last 4 years. So even without the use of Contraceptives, the Phil PGR has been steadily declining. If this continues, without any use of contraceptives, the Gov't would have save more than 3B pesos and have the desired population density.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Scratch out what I said about the budget for education, I seem to have been misinformed about the amount given to the education department. sorry for the mix up.

Make them productive by teaching them livelihoods and do your own small share as a christian minister to them.

friech123 9 months ago
@friech123,
"ang tanong..when does life begin.."
- Ang sagot Human life begins at Fertilization of course. A Sperm cell is not a human being and so is an Egg cell. It will only become human life when they meet and unite with each other.
TeeJoe18 9 months ago
@friech123,
"it does not only prohibits conception..when the pills fails to prohibit conception, the second mode of action is to prohibit the IMPLANTATION (which takes place hours AFTER conception) Is it not killing?"
- That's precisely why we need to have the RH Bill passed so that the use of these Pills would be regulated by the Gov't. Women will actually be educated as to the proper use of these Contraceptives so that those so called failure rate would be greatly diminished.
TeeJoe18 9 months ago
@TeeJoe18 I respect your opinion. @TeeJoe18 Read manuscripts regarding the issue you're trying to defend. Remember, even Mosses had to bite the bullet when he allowed people to divorce. Why? Because people are by nature rebels they always want to go against norms and wants to play God. @uppepmom1 There is no scientific evidence that contraceptives causes cancer, but only increases the risk if a woman is using it for prolonged period, 5 years or more, so there is a condom, IUD as options to reduce the risk.

@rytsign69 but then overpopulation is a worse effect than that.

@PivAd123 Are you daft Man?! And then these same Politicians and Companies blame the Poor that because they are poor is because they have many children!!!! 2 billion our pesos are being pilfered by corrupt politicians and now they have the Gall to call the Poor the reason the Filipinos are poor!!!
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 But then, it's worse giving 2000 people rather than keep 1000 people.
more population = more waste on resources. As the population rises, the amount you need to donate must be higher.
And, this RH bill isn't going to waste a lot of money, a lot of people are paying taxes, so i presume some also go to the donations and programs for the poor.
Also, you can give donations to poor people yourself.
This country is corrupt because of this religion!
PivAd123 9 months ago
@PivAd123 did you not get my last comment? Higher populations growth = higher economic growth. the populations is not a waste of resources rather an investment that could bring in big bucks. If it weren't for population we wouldn't have OFW that greatly help our economy during the big crash of wall st. in US. Human Resources is never a waste of resources, just ask any Economic Expert on this, the problem is corruption because corruption takes the money needed for job generation and other stuff.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Did you not get my point?
Even the fact that our population is high, it doesn't mean it's a higher economic growth. There are people who don't help too, especially those poor people. (Doesn't mean they don't contribute at all, a lot of them help too)
And, the fact that there aren't enough jobs (as far as I know) or and the fact that there aren't enough graduate kinda makes them useless (but not completely... you know what I mean)
PivAd123 9 months ago
@PivAd123 The fact that there are not enough jobs is because Corrupt Politicians keep pilfering the funds which should be used to generate those jobs (look at my previous comments). It force filipino to leave their love ones for distant land in order to find jobs for those who can afford it. The rest of those who couldn't afford going abroad are forced to find jobs here. First, get rid of those corrupt politicians that are clogging the veins of funding and maybe, just maybe we can debate it.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 yes sir I agree with you that population is an investment, meaning it costs money. Anything that costs you money is a liabilities. If you have limited money to invest in, wouldn't it be nice to also limit your liabilities+population?
annori88 9 months ago
@annori88 you really don't get it, do you? Rule of Thumbs in good Investments "It takes money to make money" the problem is if the Investment cost outweigh the benefits, then it becomes a liability. The Population has been proven to be an assets from the start (See the number of population increase, has increase the amount of migrant workers working abroad therefore increase in revenue for the government.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@annori88 If funding are your problem, according to C.O.A. (Comission on Audit), 2Billion of our Taxed paid Pesos are floating around and are lost due to corruption. If we spend our resources hunting down those corrupt politicians instead of funding useless Bill like this RH, then we will have enough resources to fund future investments of this soon to be money makers.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@PivAd123 I hope these "donations" doesn't end up in the pockets of Corrupt Politicians or else it will really be a waste of money, resources, and time.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Yeah, I agree. Most of the politicians are really corrupt :(
PivAd123 9 months ago
@PivAd123 right, so we must first demolished those corrupt politicians before we tackle the RH Bill or else, the RH Bill will serve as a hindrance for economic growth because those corrupt politicians will suck out the funding before it could be use for good use.

lovencare62 9 months ago
@PivAd123 But the point still stands, with an overpriced condoms, Politicians will resort to more "creative" means of procuring funding like: cutting infrastructure funding to buy contraceptives, cutting health benefits of the poor and elderly to buy contraceptives, cutting school supplies funding to buy contraceptives. Hell, overpopulation is such a worse problem, maybe we should cut out all unnecessary funding to buy these soon to be over-priced condoms!!!
rytsign69 9 months ago
Eh, whatever. That may be a point, and a good one, but my point still also stands.
With less population, there is a less need to create infrastructure. Eh, I'm not sure.
I'll just wait and see what will happen. Good luck to your side, but I guess it will win since the sheer amount of people supporting your side.
PivAd123 9 months ago
@PivAd123 "with less population, there is a less need to create infrastructure". That would lead to less growth of the economy, which is BAD!! Ask any true economic experts that increase in growth of populations equals increase in growth in economy, look at China, with over 1.4 billion people is now an economic superpower!! And I'm sure the Data does not support passing the RH Bill, in the pass 30 years, the pop. growth rate of the Philippine has been steadily declining to 1.3 from 2.1.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 China has economic superpower because THEY are creatively SMART and their population is controlled, even if it's overpopulated, they have ways to use their population for good.
Look here, overpopulation. OVER. that's why less is good nowadays. I didn't say that reduce the population to 0, i said reduce to NORMAL. Also, our population isn't used for good. The poor people? They're just there, lucky if they study.
And I can't argue with the steady declining of the growth rate. So, yeah
PivAd123 9 months ago
@rytsign69 You failed to mention that China has much larger territory to accommodate 1.4 billion Chinese than in the Philippines and since they implemented strict 1 child policy they prevented 40 million from adding to their current population. How are they going to sustain extra 40 million to their population? Despite their economic success millions are still living in poverty.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Look what the one Child Policy did to China, an Imbalance Gender ratio of males to females. Since male is much prefered and favorable in China, there are now more male who are unable to find a wife. Also look at a secret controlled situation done on Yicheng China " /watch?v=s9kdQLQYT5w " when the government tries to find out what happen when China did not adopt the 1 child policy.
rytsign69 9 months ago
The Chinese are aware that males are more productive in the workforce which is the reason Chinese women prefer son than a daughter. In communist county with strict laws they have no choice but follow the regulations or face the consequences. After so many years they have adjusted to 1 child policy they think it's good for China comparing to other nations where poverty is prevalent for disregarding population growth. They owe their economic success to that policy. watch?v=H4OWJlyaHt0
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 Which is why there is gender imbalance in the first place. Now try to see what happens when more single males are in a community? A lot of them are experiencing depression and anxiety due to being lonely, does it do good on their mental health? No. and when a person is in a state of depression and anxiety, it greatly impact their performance, and the economic performance for that. Anti-depressant drugs help but it will never be a solution.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 It's something Chinese men have to deal with that forces most of them join the military to keep their mind off women lol, a sacrifice they're willing to take for their country to achieve economic success. Still, their population continue to grow but at slower pace which is necessary in the most populated country in the world. There are more wealthy Chinese now who can afford to pay the penalty to their government for deciding to add more child in the family.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 are the Chinese the same mentality as the filipinos? Do you think they are willing to make that same sacrifice to for economic success? The filipinos value family above anything else so applying Communist Chinese policy will not work on the filipino people. I could wish that the filipinos were as disciplined as the Chinese, but I pray that we may find the answer to these questions without resorting to population control.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 As long as Filipinos adhere to family oriented traditions and Catholic religious values that would be very difficult. Having a large family have advantages depending on your level of income. The general population have more disadvantages on economic side. This is what RH advocates are fighting for, to give the general population proper education and informed choice on the number of their children they can provide or in the future the govt will have no choice but enforce 1 child policy
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 So you want to change filipino values, traditions and culture. This is what happens to Africa, The American Gov't refuses aid to Africa unless they use contraceptive and now look how f***k up they are now. 80% of the provisions of the RH Bill is already given in the Magna Carta of women (RA 9710) and it was not implemented thoroughly, if the RH Bill is passed, will it be implemented thoroughly? The answer is no, as long as corrupt politicians is in place, no program will work.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@rytsign69 Unless Filipinos want to progress economically, its important to apply discipline to limit the number of children while keeping their values and traditions. Magna Carta for women addresses the rights of women, who have been discriminated prior to its implementation, to receive social services but family planning and reproductive health wasn't fully included. Noynoy is doing his best, reducing govt corruptions diligently to get favorable support from the people but it will take time.
tcrusader1 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 I agree with you that filipinos should apply discipline in having the number of children and many Catholics are practicing it. The trick is education, and hunting those corrupt politicians, unclog the funding needed for education. If Noynoy is doing it his best, well, a cookie for him.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 "the Gov't will have no choice but enforce 1 child policy". funny how Lagman drops the "ideal famiy size" from the bill, which means that the author of the RH Bill has also conceded that the filipinos do not want to limit the numbers of their children and that the Gov't have no right to intrude on the will of the families. The 1 child policy happens only in communist China. We filipinos are democratic so the Gov't plans for 1 child will never work.
rytsign69 9 months ago
@tcrusader1 The one child policy in China has left thousands of people in poverty line because of the cost of having another child. The couple seeking to have another child must pay the Government an amount 10 times their annual income, leaving them without any capital to sustain them, meaning they become poor. Therefore, there could be a direct link between the one child policy in China and their poverty.

@VXBlueXV control the scarcity??? if you do some research it says that 300 billion metric tons of food go to waste...is it scarcity when countries waste foods???millions of people are hungry, why not just give those to these people...but unfortunately, these people are too selfish...same with the PRO RH...ang gusto lang ninyo sarili ninyong kasarapan sa buhay, ayaw ninyo may KAHATI...too selfish...

@grinlocks wow... ganito pala "PRO-LIFE"
oo ganito ako...pero wag mong idamay ang lahat...sa logic, it calls "HASTY GENERALIZATION"...SINCE YOU FALL TO THAT FALLACY, it follows that when the person commits fallacy, he is illogical, sa espanol, "TONTO"...sa tagalog, KATANGAHAN, sa bikol, KAPATALAN....at ikaw yun...

isa ka rin na tanag..it does not follow na againnst ang isang tao sa RH ay gagawa na ng maraming anak...hindi mo yata naiintindihan ang side ng anti...ang tanga tanga mo kasi...we advocate responsible parenthood..if the couple have one child, then, that's good, just be responsible to the kid...if you have 10, the more you should be responsible...

If your a priest who is very much interested with politics then one should just resigned and run for goverment, there should be no way where ANY religion should intermingle with the goverment.
