  • Now that I've watched this in it's entirety, I can honestly say that this is the first video that I WISH I would have been rick rolled with instead.

  • "I'm going to use a render because it's easier on me"??!? Right, because we're all looking for a video on the lazy way to do it. It's not like any of us were gonna try to put any amount of skill or professionalism into our projects. Thanks for phoning it in and teaching us to aim for the middle though.

  • Here is an easier way to do it.

    Magic erase the background, you most likely wont need it.

    Select what you want to keep. Right Click > Layer via Copy

    On the layers section double click the layer. Color Overlay > Black?

    If you want, you could make a color overlay for the other piece as white assuming you are doing an ipod.

    Hope this helps someone.

    Try to keep all your work in one file ^.^;

  • @DavidKroutArt I love that you made the non-lazy way to do it even more simple than the lazy way demonstrated in the video. Kudos :)

  • Wow! THANK YOU!!! I've been making iPod people all day (^-^)

  • Each tool has multiple settings, you may need to be searching for the gradient tool which is also the paint bucket.

  • I managed to use the silhouette effect on a virtual actor on an animation program using chromakeying in post-production.

  • thanks, this is helpful

  • Dude, how many Halo pics do you have saved on your computer in that list anone???

  • Alot. I keep and make alot of renders (pictures without backgrounds) for people for signatures and website headers and stuff.

  • You had to buy and install adobe photoshop to do this right?

  • Yes, but this particular technique is simple enough to be done in almost any "Paint/Editing" program. Like Gimp for instance, which is free.

  • very cool i will use this
