I `m reading as much as i can about chameleons and how to keep them ( generally chameleons are not easy to look after cause they need a lot of care and attention ) i`m thinking of buying a chameleon very soon, and i`m preparing my self .. I like this video it is cute : )
about once every 3-4 months. I usually dust em depending on where I am in my scedule with him, but this video he had calcium on his breakfast, so this was just a mid day treat :)
I built it myself, and since I made the lumber from trees myself as well, its tough to put a price on how much it woulda been. Id say start to finish i spent about 100 bucks on it. I have also had offers from other reptile enthusiats to buy it for 900... so its tough to say its true value!
They are difficult to care for sucessfully, yes. They are ok to pick up every now and then.. like if you need to clean his cage and have to move him out. Picking them up for the sake of picking them up is never reccomended becuase it can stress them out. Definatly not a "pet", more of an exotic animal to look at. Best of luck!
He's looking sick! I bet he ends up with a bunch of yellow. If he actually does end up with purple that is THE most desireable ambanja coloration. I'm so glad you're taking such good care of him. If you put him infront of a female or another male his colors will go absolutely crazy!
i didnt see the chameleon until he moved his head.. no lie

@syoncle murph had to be set free because of apartment problems. He got Sven like a year later, at least. And he lives somewhere new, I'm sure.

is it more important for their cage to be high or wide?
timekeeper117 2 years ago
more important to be tall, because they climb upwards

30x30 and then 48 tall (for the living space he has) I built it myself :)
Nygel36 3 years ago
Yeah... waxworms pretty much suck for sticking on to things. I usually just put them in a cup and leave 'em.

Pretty Sweet Stuff, he's gotten huge compared to the last time you made another video. How much bigger will he get tho?

Thanks Joe. Im soooo tempted to search for a female. Perhaps when I move in Jan I might consider it, but for now hes just going to be lonely :(
Nygel36 3 years ago
When you do I strongly suggest contacting Jim Flaherty at The Chameleon Company.
