From your friends in Australia. We each need to start our own - for the lack of a better word, Political groups in each country of the world. And run for the control of government positions and take the world back from within, using their own platform of power. WE HAVE THE RIGHT AND THE ABILITY. If we all do it, it becomes safe. I seriously feel quite close to this guy. I refused to study at school because since I was a child, I thought the school system was corrupt and I thought the subjects were useless. I have never driven a car, and have never wanted to. I have always found so many things in our society disgusting and pointless.. and have never agreed with any aspect of the system. I wonder where all this comes from, because I've had it as long as I can remember. But most people consider me to be highly educated.
Totally with you on what you said about having a child. I'm 37yrs old, single intentionally and no plans to get married and I find the idea of reproduction abhorrent at this stage in our history. Gross negligence. You will find it is the less educated, poorer (and often more religious) cultures of our planet that produce the most children, believe in the sanctity of marriage, etc. etc.
Peter Joseph courageously embodies the humanistic / scientific enlightenment of the 21 st century. He has grasped the very inner structrual contradictions of the CAPITALIST/MONETARY system and his revolutionary call for a WORLD OF COOPERATION FOR OUR COMMON NEEDS AND WELL BEING should be the CONSTITUTION OF NEW HUMANI CIVIILISATION. The renewability of fossil fuels is not "hundreds of millions of years". There have been plenty of studies of organic material converting to oil within only a few years. All it takes is pressure and time. Under lab conditions that span is significantly shorter...
@2001Horatio Im not pro-oil or anything. Im simply pointing out misinformation.
There are far more advanced technologies in existance such as a hydrogen engine running on nothing but water, or a perpetual fusion reaction engine that is made out of organic metals and thus able to reshape/repair itself without maintenance while putting out collosal ammounts of energy. Too bad all these wonders will ever be used for is war and domination.
I think the fact that we are even thinking like this now, that someone like Peter Joseph has spoken out against the system this way & more will follow, is a huge step forward. The internet is a blessing to all who wish to pursue in informing others and reaching out to world about what NEEDS to be done to change the innevitable destruction of the planet and our civilization.
without kids there is no future, but i understand the need for change. it has to be rapid progression, but not all at once. I believe in God, but truth is singular not plural. there can only be one truth. religion is flawed but I believe God exists. In mormonism they tried to institute a law of consecration and equality, but the people wouldn't live it, it can't happen along side a monetary system that breeds selfishness.

We don't need fossil fuel. There are water engines and a bunch of other stuff beside fossil fuel motors. Why doesn't he say something about that???Very strange...
After watching the newest Zeitgeist the closest thing in existence I can see that resonates with his ideas are ecovillages. The ultimate goal of these intentional communities is to create self sufficiency off the land. It is really worth looking into.
If you survive, you are a “fit” person.. if you don’t you aren’t! it’s a matter of intelligence. and it sounds bad yes. but its the way it is! it cant be changed... all attempts to change this have failed! there will be a massive elimination of people.. as is happening right now.. its our destiny...our nature!
this is how its supposed to go... the zeitgeist idea is a good one. good intentions. but it will not work! human nature just doesent work like that! i wish it did... but it doesent... just look around.. so my advice and my way of living is ...strive for your existence as you would in a natural world and find a way to survive.
...it will never work. you can see it thorughout history..communism: its based on giving up what you have as an individual for the wellbeing of a community. didnt work! same happened with thousands of other alternative movements. we´re meant for doom.. its human behavior.. all animals have that instinct of survival.. the problem is we have intelligence.. now that makes everything worse. we use that intelligence along with our impulses ... and create what we have now: destruction!
its all survival of the fittest dude! human behavior want it or not is genetically programmed. we are genetically codified to strive for our own wellbeing, to compete, to outnumber others and survive. be it in the natural world billions of years ago or in society today. no matter how many movements you try to create in order to create concience, yes.. you might create this concience.. but in the end we will continue acting upon our natural impulses..

Well Said DBD6cubed - and everybody else here. - We just join with this movement and try to bring all the resources to this focal point. I'm bringing everything I've got at EnviroMonster, com .. - Having reached the same conclusions before discovering Peter Joseph (yes I do live in a cave..) - perhaps the only thing I can add is what I call Cooperative Problem Solving Experiments. - which is also simple and free information. - Global Cooperation has to happen... or not.. We can only try> pce
There are 2 kinds of people that watch and agree with the zeitgeist movies. The first kind is the type that watches it and by the end has a renewed sense of purpose and inspiration. The other kind watches it and just feels trapped and doomed by it's message. I mean we are all cynics but which kind are you an optimist or a pessimist. I always try to look on the brighter side of things. No matter how bad things are they can almost always get better. It's not too late to change just yet.
After just a few generations of having single child births, we should be close to having a generation of 250 million people worldwide. Then we evolve into the Eternal Cycle- 4 generations of single child births, immediately followed by 4 generations of having 4 children genetically. Results being a resource based ebonomy never exceeding 500 million on the planet. Not one child would ever go hungry again. Not one. Numbers are all there, just follow the numbers.
Now Peter, like you said, "Humanity needs to start thinking about it`s relationship to the Earth" In other words we live in a supply/demand culture. Currently the "demand" is increasing at such a high rate that we`ll soon be "f`ing doomed" as a human race. Numbers Peter, give us some tangible numbers. With the end goal being the Venus Project worldwide within 150 years, we could have just one GENETIC child per couple for the next 75 years. Adopt homeless children in place of genetic children.
where children are concerned, you should all watch the movie Ideocracy. it points out the idea of why darwinism fails. Intelligent intellectuals choose not to have children due to a failing of their own intelligence.
Whereas some dumb hick gets drunk and has all the children he wants.
Sad isn't it.
Intellectuals SHOULD bring their kids into a fucked up world. Because Intelligent Kids are the ones who can FIX IT!!!
I think it's insane to assume religions have nothing to do with an Altruistic heroic revolutionary and a superhuman saint with ethics that consistently keep people happy and spiritual.
Burn the money Zeitgeist Forward & post it to youtube protest drive. Example: search ' Zeitgeist Forward Burning Money Protest Ed 1st '. What's a few minutes and some currency for a good cause? It's also a good pschological & spiritual break from this commercialism/materialism conditioning idolatry infecting us all. Burning some currency is good for the soul. The future is NOW.
@Nafers It's an impasse, really. He's calling for a world free from ideologies, which is an impossible utopia. How can we have such a world? If we all had to live the way Joseph suggested, how would this be a "greater" freedom? In what way would this not also be "social programming"? We know what we want to be free from, but Joseph seems to imagine some ideal place we can go to be free - what new tyrannies will arise in place of old?
@StuballScramble What he is talking about is simply a thought provoking idea out of the box that we are all living in right now. His idea is not original. I am sure few of us though of it too. The information he is sharing is based on his research and has inspired me to do some research and to start questioning! It is perfectly fine to question him too in fact that is the best way to wake up!
@StuballScramble No he's basically asking "what the fuck do we need to continue our survival on this planet, without horrors and wars and continuing the patterns and all the things that continue... to happen."
@bitphr3ak I see your point, but you have to realize this... If you want to see change in the world, it's going to start with us and our children for sure. The older generations now are near impossible to teach. I have a 5 year old and you can bet your ass that I will be teaching him the things that truly matter, and to not get sucked into this corporate money based world.
I grew up in a Christian home and i looked for the truth about institutionalized religions and found that none of them carried any truth in any way shape or form. I have had the thoughts about our government, our slavery to money, our imprisonment to "status quo" and our planet Earth and then Zeitgeist came into being...now I know that I am not alone.
Actually, people have written about it for almost 80 years now, it's just that it's not in main stream academics. I just graduated from a big ten school and a professor used a book for the first time ever because he just started to see how relevant the concepts are. Read "A Prosperous Way Down" By H.T. Odum. It's concepts explain sustainability and the carrying capacity of the Earth and energy. The book supports the ideas that Mr. Joseph conveys in a scientifically accurate way.
jesus fuck, i see my opinions reflected on this guy's mouth O_O specially the part in which i dont feel good by bringing a child into the world..creepy
Unlimited energy sources are out there! But there are very powerfull forces that want to supress the technology,if you want a real Free energy Magnet Motor, get the blueprints at LT-MAGNET-MOTORdotCOM ,Be the revolution!
The only type of spirituality that is actually relevant is a understanding of natural processes and the natural order of the universe. A true spiritual awakening is when people begin to work together, they have to share their resource that we live from this planet and that we can have abundance. The earth demands this for our survival.
He used the word "nature" where I would have used the word "truth."
We are all programmed. Where do our programs come from? In many cases, our parents, teachers and the TV.
We need a new paradigm.
He's pretty negative about humanity's future.
He says "all knowledge is serial." But in order for him to know that he would have to know "all knowledge." Do you see the arrogance in that statement?
We are NOT running out of oil. Oil is abiotic. The Russians have proven this.
@nodesnetwork Would you clarify your last statement, the "Oil is abiotic" one? Abiotic, meaning not derived from living organisms. Since when is crude oil created not from decomposing organic matter?
In the end it will be their decision, but If other Parents can indoctrinate their children with religious, political, and social beliefs than we can definitely relay VERY STRONGLY like only Parents can do, (smile) and insist that they not bring any children into the world. I have always believed this before "Zeitgesit" and am glad to hear validation from P.J. on the subject.
I realize we had children, but now we know better and want to stop our children from making the same decision in life.
My children know about this, I'm their mom, I have told them I do not want grandchildren, I have a 21 yr old, and a 14yr old (boys) My 21 year old has friends that are younger than he is that have children and they are miserable and "trapped" just going along in their lives like the rest of the world. My husband and I (married 23 yrs) have talked to our sons about not having children and are instilling in them instead to either adopt children that are already here or none at all.
@alagrillet I know it sounds strange but the planet is already overpopulated and I have just always felt this way. like I said it's their decision ultimately, but my husband and I strongly advocate adopting the "children that are already here" or having none at all. We feed the homeless, and are very involed in what's gong on in the world (every since they were children) so this is not coming out of the blue believe me.
@atlasshrugged2u None of that sounds strange to me. I have no children nor do either of my brothers and we're all 40+. People don't "think" about having children, they feel. It's an instinct not a fully informed decision. I'm putting on my Nomex suit.
If folks just stop and "think" like you said, they would see what a HUGE responsibility it is and once it happens it's a "done deal" so hopefully as the future progresses, we'll have more people "thinking" and not just "feeling" on that subject
The way I see it, only dumb overenthusiastic teenagers, with no understanding of human behavior are still entertaining the notion of the Venus project. Every other sane person has moved along. It was a nice try by the NWO forces to divert people's energy and focus, but it wasn't nice enough. Ha ha ha!
It's not a perfect world dude, so you make do with what you got. You can't be the perfect human being and create the perfect world, especially when you recognize the number one reality of human nature which is ACTIONS CAUSED BY FREE WILL. People fall into temptation and people are crazy and screwed up so they do crazy things because of this not because of entertainmen or the economy just to name a couple of examples. It's all about self responsibility.
Strange..because before i saw this video i was thinkin that i shouldn't bother having children its just not worth it. I can't see my child go through the mentality of such sick society. I can teach my child how i see the world but the influence from the society is way stronger. I can't handle seeing children in bad situations and to see my own child is even worse. I feel you Peter i know exactly what you mean.
i bet religion really started like this ..10 000 years ago a dad couldnt stand to see his 5 year old crying over the realisation that we are not eternal .... So he invented a story . A story much like the Jesus story or santa claws ...20 years passed and this kid , now an adult still beleived the story and passed it on as much as he could ...Some power freaks ,saw some potentiel there ,,,the rest is history..so you now you see ,, Jesus came from a retard not from the stars and sun .dont thank me
I agree With everything that PJ has said so far, except 4 the idea of not having children.WeShould be responsible.1 couple having 5 kids is not.PJsaid Humanity has 2start thinking of its Relationship2theEarth.ISay IHad my children not4 selfserving needs,ButBecause ofMyRelationship with the earth. As A responsibleParent i teachMyChildren 2love&honor the earth.I have high hopes 4 humanity,ISeeHow far WeHaveCome.YesThereHaveBeenSetBacks, but change isHere,&There is NoFuture4HumanityWithoutOurChildren.
While I TOTALLY respect Peter's view on why he chooses 2 not have children, I have had my children not 4 purely selfish reasons. I'm raising my children 2 c the Truth as it is & giving them the skills & knowledge to keep working 4 a better world. My oldest son has already committed himself 2 the Sciences & seems inborn w/seeing things how they really r & wanting 2 make things better. He is already against the status quo, even at 11, & doesn't mind being shunned by his peers. Having children just
"We cannot be so stupid as to give corporations the ability to control, for their own little clique's betterment, resources that we all [deserve]"
Reminds me of a good documentary I recently saw about how Earth's water resources are being exploited for profit. It's called "FLOW - For Love of Water"
Buy the film or torrent it or whatever. It's important that people see it.
its funny how this video and the last are the two closest in number of views...Please if you are worrying now if your God is here, remember the compassion he showed you when you found him.
Yes we shouldn't give resources to corporations; that's exactly what the people of Bolivia did when they fought off the privatization of water. They fought off corporations backed by the US Empire. It is hard for me to take you seriously when you don't seriously acknowledge the exemplary work that has actually been done in the real world, as opposed to your theorizing; which you admonish others of so much but yet are doing it yourself. You are speaking from the Empire and not getting bombed.
Just like you're ideas, they are not novel, they are serial but you won't give credit where it is due. As you begin to organize and provide "solutions" you will face the ideological strength of the present society. Workers have been trying to organize for centuries; 40 hour work week comes from somewhere, just because you have the opportunity to enjoy the fruits that have been won through struggle, don't be a self righteous prick. I'd like to see you organize a worker take over of a factory.
let´s face it ,this guy is a genius we should listen to, ..I have been doing sociological, philosophical and biological research for more than 40 years, and I can see his synthesis is the most objective and down to earth I have found so far but the scope of it usually falls beyond the understanding of ordinary citizens. The love of money and the love of having too many children are surely going to mess up planet earth.
@Jazoonify Democracy is too beautiful a word for this concealed slavery imposed upon society by economic powers of a higher order,: A president in a "democratic" society is only a puppet and voters are deceived into thinking they are electing freely.
To say were "fucking doomed" because of some human construct is a bit narrow when you consider that earth and people are just a process in time; a process which ounce started and eventually, inevitably will end.
So as a viewer I then would have to question his actual intent. Either it is as he says it is meaning he doesn't understand that the human race will end inevitably regardless of the human races intent.
@stoddcrew I would say The Zeitgeist Movement, along with the Venus Project, don't try to prolong the life we all live but only to create an environment which will suit us much better than the one we've created today. You're right, humanity, earth, and other forms of life, both bigger and smaller, will end at one time in the future. But this doesn't mean that we have to just say, "Ah well fuck it, we're gonna end one time or another, who cares".
@Gevatar But saying that creates a fundamental problem "only to create an environment which will suit us" the rich and elite powers at hand have a lifestyle not fitting with a resource based economy. If their is a realistic way of turning the world into a resource based economy where the rich and powerful could keep their lifestyle and still have the power then they would, but this is impossible because they keep their power through war and other wasteful means.
@stoddcrew In the world they are willing to create, there is no such distinction as The rich or powerful. Hopefully through education, people will start to realize that there's no need for class systems, because there are enough resources to provide food, water, shelter, and other means of living, for everyone. Unless you mean the Rich and Powerful men and women of todays established structures won't give up without a fight, then yeh I agree with you.
@Gevatar Thanks, but I don't think it's a situation "won't give up without a fight", because they don't need to fight. They've already won and theirs nothing we can do because they have created a world in which their are to many people in the world in a state beyond reasoning with. Adding to that the infrastructure of the world is so based on oil it will take until the end of oil to build a system of renewable energy, and that is if we started now.
It starts at the grass roots level. Let's get off the grid and shed the old system like water off a duck's back. Someday the grass roots revolution will starve out and weaken, what, at the moment, seems like it could squish us like a bug. Be peaceful. I see networks of battery banks charged by wind and solar panels and people growing their own food and helping each other build shelters. Let the brain storming begin and the large, open source, infrastructure will come! :-D
Nobody should get so offended by this guy. Sure, he is smart, and he knows what he is talking about, and I agree with alot of what he talks about, but he presents his ideas and oppinions it's really up to you to discover what your own beliefs are. He says what he thinks about religion, and if you take what he says and follow it without holding true to your own experiences and beliefs, then you are doing the exact opposite of what he is trying to teach.
Hey Peter. I want to argue with you or with this channel's admin. At 1:40 I hear that the bible's "be fruitful and multiply" is unwise and destructive to nature. Need I remind you that the bible encourages marriage...Need I remind you that overpopulation is increasingly from people who are uneducated about religion. I just don't think there's any correlation. An educated man can have five kids without being labeled a destroyer.
@Damien6ix I'm saying that overpopulation doesn't stem from religion. I'm not religious. But I don't agree with Peter's argument, because it seems to be leading up to some sort of mandated cap on my reproductive rights.
.....He said the Catholic church specifically. You know, the same church that says condoms are a sin, celebrated hitler's birthday in April, made a pact with moussillini in 1929, did nothing during the tutsi massacre, and almost murdered Galileo? Yeah....That institution is pretty destructive if you ask me. All he is trying to say is be mindful of what you do and take into account what this earth has to offer. We only have one planet friend.
"Far too many ideologies out there...." ... "We are faced with some tremendous problems and the only way they're going to begin to be resolved is to begin to work together. Everyone needs to shed their religious ideas and to shed their captaiist, socialist, fascist, communist pre-constructs. They need to shed everything that they have been taught and...." ...live my way. This *is* fascism. We have to learn to live together without everyohe having to follow the same agenda, surely?
At 5:00 when he talks about religion he is correct. Even I know that. Like Elohim comes from the Deity Eli or El which was a Sumerian and Babylonian Deity. Before the worship of this Deity (the word 'El' and 'Eli' simple mean 'That') people probably praised and thanked the Earth and the root of it's productive capacity.
Aren't children the future, teach them well and let them lead the way.. Peter is somebody's child and he turned out okay as the evidence shows. The danger of OPINIONS and bias statements ...... be careful......
@werewolvesbyday I think he's tired of holding back the frustration and anger at the ignorant people of the world, and so am I. Speaking rationally with them doesn't seem to work most of the time so he has to put it in simple lamen's terms. I've been having to do it alot lately on SodaHead when people keep attacking me and have no valid arguments against what I'm saying. It's like they're just being bullies and when I go off on them with all my heart and my strong knowledge base they shut up.
@XenBuddhist yeah,i noticed you said "speaking rationally doesn't work", and it reminded me of that book. i read it when i am frustrated in my relations with other people.
As for his claims about Christianity being based on myth are just funny. That hypothesis has been dead since the 19th century. There is no atheist philosopher or historian at an accredited university who believes that.
He ignores that the stories of Jesus are clearly and emphatically not mythic. They may or may not be true, but they are claiming to be history, not myth. That's why the stories intersect with historical figures we know about independently, like Pontius Pilate, Caiphas, and John the Baptist. He gives no primary sources for his claims about deities like Horus. He's very smart, but gets certain basic facts wrong.
The reproduction thing is so true, and the attitudes of most women that I've seen infuriate me.
"I'm just going to open my legs and mindlessly, indescriminately punch out spawn, and to hell with the consequences. Anyone who disagrees with my divine right to do so, is obviously a complete demoniac, and worse than evil."
@MBpiratecore hes cursing because he is so amazingly frustrated with the situation that he and many otehrs are aware of. Its totally understandable. Hes probably also cursing because who cares...really...apart from the religious ones?! Its just a word!!! And to be honest i think his cursing shows just how bad the world is right now, since he couldnt find any other words in his obviously huge vocabulary other than we are fucking doomed. SPOT ON! Hes brilliant.
He's cursing cause he s a NYers... It's up to you if you want to have kids, not up to him or anyone else. Zeitgeist only makes sense if no one attempts to run someone else's life or actions. I think it's worth a try, the only problem is that a change that big will not come unless it is forced upon the world, which can be interpreted as a sort of fascism.
@delsol00000 Fuckin' A! Expressing Oneself no matter what others think of you. I'm lovin' it. Like the Rage Against the Machine song says: "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me!". Right On! Good Answer! Spiritual!
@14mm2 yeah, data from the cassini probe orbiting saturn has shown that the ringed planet's moon has "hundreds of times more liquid hydrocarbons than all the known oil and natural gas reserves on eath". oil is being discovered at 30,000 feet, far below the 18,000 feet where organic matter is no longer found. it is magma generated
You're paranoid and brainwashed by your government capitalists. Preach and beg for money, while you beseech your neighbour and slay your own mother for the dollar bill.
i wish people could just listen to peter, but the fact is individuals are soo invested in what that have now, they think what they have now is soo real because they have invested soo much time and effort on what they have that they dont want to let it go
Saturdays are for shopping! lol

I believe in God, but truth is singular not plural. there can only be one truth. religion is flawed but I believe God exists. In mormonism they tried to institute a law of consecration and equality, but the people wouldn't live it, it can't happen along side a monetary system that breeds selfishness.

this is how its supposed to go... the zeitgeist idea is a good one. good intentions. but it will not work! human nature just doesent work like that! i wish it did... but it doesent... just look around.. so my advice and my way of living is ...strive for your existence as you would in a natural world and find a way to survive.
thehandthatwatches 11 months ago
...it will never work. you can see it thorughout history..communism: its based on giving up what you have as an individual for the wellbeing of a community. didnt work! same happened with thousands of other alternative movements. we´re meant for doom.. its human behavior.. all animals have that instinct of survival.. the problem is we have intelligence.. now that makes everything worse. we use that intelligence along with our impulses ... and create what we have now: destruction!

its all survival of the fittest dude! human behavior want it or not is genetically programmed. we are genetically codified to strive for our own wellbeing, to compete, to outnumber others and survive. be it in the natural world billions of years ago or in society today. no matter how many movements you try to create in order to create concience, yes.. you might create this concience.. but in the end we will continue acting upon our natural impulses..

Not one. Numbers are all there, just follow the numbers.
venusmessenger 11 months ago
Now Peter, like you said, "Humanity needs to start thinking about it`s relationship to the Earth" In other words we live in a supply/demand culture. Currently the "demand" is increasing at such a high rate that we`ll soon be "f`ing doomed" as a human race. Numbers Peter, give us some tangible numbers. With the end goal being the Venus Project worldwide within 150 years, we could have just one GENETIC child per couple for the next 75 years. Adopt homeless children in place of genetic children.

He used the word "nature" where I would have used the word "truth."
We are all programmed. Where do our programs come from? In many cases, our parents, teachers and the TV.
We need a new paradigm.
He's pretty negative about humanity's future.
He says "all knowledge is serial." But in order for him to know that he would have to know "all knowledge." Do you see the arrogance in that statement?
We are NOT running out of oil. Oil is abiotic. The Russians have proven this.
nodesnetwork 1 year ago
@nodesnetwork Would you clarify your last statement, the "Oil is abiotic" one? Abiotic, meaning not derived from living organisms. Since when is crude oil created not from decomposing organic matter?

In the end it will be their decision, but If other Parents can indoctrinate their children with religious, political, and social beliefs than we can definitely relay VERY STRONGLY like only Parents can do, (smile) and insist that they not bring any children into the world. I have always believed this before "Zeitgesit" and am glad to hear validation from P.J. on the subject.
I realize we had children, but now we know better and want to stop our children from making the same decision in life.
atlasshrugged2u 1 year ago
My children know about this, I'm their mom, I have told them I do not want grandchildren, I have a 21 yr old, and a 14yr old (boys) My 21 year old has friends that are younger than he is that have children and they are miserable and "trapped" just going along in their lives like the rest of the world. My husband and I (married 23 yrs) have talked to our sons about not having children and are instilling in them instead to either adopt children that are already here or none at all.

alagrillet 1 year ago
@alagrillet I know it sounds strange but the planet is already overpopulated and I have just always felt this way. like I said it's their decision ultimately, but my husband and I strongly advocate adopting the "children that are already here" or having none at all. We feed the homeless, and are very involed in what's gong on in the world (every since they were children) so this is not coming out of the blue believe me.
Think about it; it just makes sense. :)

To say were "fucking doomed" because of some human construct is a bit narrow when you consider that earth and people are just a process in time; a process which ounce started and eventually, inevitably will end.
So as a viewer I then would have to question his actual intent. Either it is as he says it is meaning he doesn't understand that the human race will end inevitably regardless of the human races intent.
stoddcrew 1 year ago
@stoddcrew I would say The Zeitgeist Movement, along with the Venus Project, don't try to prolong the life we all live but only to create an environment which will suit us much better than the one we've created today. You're right, humanity, earth, and other forms of life, both bigger and smaller, will end at one time in the future. But this doesn't mean that we have to just say, "Ah well fuck it, we're gonna end one time or another, who cares".
Gevatar 1 year ago
@Gevatar But saying that creates a fundamental problem "only to create an environment which will suit us" the rich and elite powers at hand have a lifestyle not fitting with a resource based economy. If their is a realistic way of turning the world into a resource based economy where the rich and powerful could keep their lifestyle and still have the power then they would, but this is impossible because they keep their power through war and other wasteful means.
stoddcrew 1 year ago
@stoddcrew In the world they are willing to create, there is no such distinction as The rich or powerful. Hopefully through education, people will start to realize that there's no need for class systems, because there are enough resources to provide food, water, shelter, and other means of living, for everyone. Unless you mean the Rich and Powerful men and women of todays established structures won't give up without a fight, then yeh I agree with you.
Gevatar 1 year ago
@Gevatar Thanks, but I don't think it's a situation "won't give up without a fight", because they don't need to fight. They've already won and theirs nothing we can do because they have created a world in which their are to many people in the world in a state beyond reasoning with. Adding to that the infrastructure of the world is so based on oil it will take until the end of oil to build a system of renewable energy, and that is if we started now.

I see networks of battery banks charged by wind and solar panels and people growing their own food and helping each other build shelters. Let the brain storming begin and the large, open source, infrastructure will come! :-D

As for his claims about Christianity being based on myth are just funny. That hypothesis has been dead since the 19th century. There is no atheist philosopher or historian at an accredited university who believes that.
Jugglable 1 year ago
He ignores that the stories of Jesus are clearly and emphatically not mythic. They may or may not be true, but they are claiming to be history, not myth. That's why the stories intersect with historical figures we know about independently, like Pontius Pilate, Caiphas, and John the Baptist. He gives no primary sources for his claims about deities like Horus. He's very smart, but gets certain basic facts wrong.

"I'm just going to open my legs and mindlessly, indescriminately punch out spawn, and to hell with the consequences. Anyone who disagrees with my divine right to do so, is obviously a complete demoniac, and worse than evil."

Very, Very intellectual monologue. I do have to give my input though, that his cursing puts him off as slightly more primitive.
Cursing is very off-putting. I very much agree with everything he is mentioning though.

@MBpiratecore he just thinks his cussing gives him a cool, bohemian, edgy demeanor. fail

Spiritual!

@14mm2 yeah, data from the cassini probe orbiting saturn has shown that the ringed planet's moon has "hundreds of times more liquid hydrocarbons than all the known oil and natural gas reserves on eath". oil is being discovered at 30,000 feet, far below the 18,000 feet where organic matter is no longer found. it is magma generated
ultrakool 1 year ago
@14mm2 yes, oil is being generated beneath the earth's mantle. pj is a prototypical "mythstorian". beware

You're paranoid and brainwashed by your government capitalists. Preach and beg for money, while you beseech your neighbour and slay your own mother for the dollar bill.
