He was one of the rgeatest singers of malayalam movie industry and he is respected even by yesudas himself. most of malayalees consider him at par with yesudas.

i won"t agree to that, knowing one live experience from Sri.jayachandran. there were a group of singers, all well accomplished, old and new generation- in an Onam festival in TVM. the acoustic engg(mike setting in other words) was really poor and the output was far inferior to what the all actually sang. then came Jayachandran"s UPASANA -- Boy!! just believe me- he had made adjustments knowing the situation in an incredible manner, that it sounded even better than the original recording.
