I still think that Adler was better than Sorum mainly because Adler helped create the original GnR Appetite For Destruction material, which is Guns and Roses best album ever.

However, Sorum could handle the pressure, I mean having to play in front of 280,000 people on your first gig, and he handled it fine, without resorting to the spine tingling soothing powder that is Heroin.

Unfortunately Adlers Appetite was a bit to hungry :)

I still think they are 2 of the best hard rock drummers ever.

not really as much as i dont really like matt he added a great drumming sound to the use your illusion albums even their cover album the spaghetti incident but at the end of the day it wasnt about who was better even tho steven was infact better than matt it was about who fitted the band more and even tho steven was made to be in that band and deserved it so much more than matt its just that the condition that steven was in wouldnt allow him to be in the band

Sorum blows adler out of the water. technique, style, groove, all far above adlers more basic level. (i may be biased though, the live video of japan made me buy a drum kit!) plus it helps if a bands drummer dont drool over his snare drum due to crippling coke habit!
