This video is made of truth and hilarity. It's hard to explain to other people why I love this show wholeheartedly when so much of it is ridiculous. Yet the parts that aren't ridiculous are often amazingly good, and the ridiculousness is kind of loveable as well.

Daleks and R2D2 are completely incomparable. Except for well, the robot part... but Daleks aren't even robots, their weird octopus-brain thing aliens that were created by Davros and uhh..live? in a metal, robotic shell....so they kinda are robots. But Cybermen are more robots than Daleks...
I started watching Doctor Who in June. I was surprised at how quickly I fell head-first in love with the series. I watched all the way through Eccleston, Tennant, and just started both Matt Smith's series and Tom Baker's series at the same time. It's all fantastic, absolutely fantastic.
I'm American and I honestly don't think it seems like a kids' show. However, the Eleventh Doctor was my first impression and, going back to 10 and 9, I can't take that stuff seriously. (Especially 9, Jesus.) Yeah, those blue people really did make me feel like a child. But the crack in Amy Pond's wall was totally badass. Also Rory's nose.
Pfft. Who fan and proud! I mention in my newest video that I love it so much, I went drinking in public as Matt Smith's rendition. I have no shame in that.

Hilarious. Also: if you ever need to prove the scariness of Doctor Who, just try out the stone angels. I'm actually afraid of the ones in my local cemetery. I comfort myself with the fact that they aren't weeping.
