11,000 is a very generous estimate for notre dames student section....I think the stadium holds about 68,000 and from the looks of things on tv the student section is about 1/12 of the stadium...so I would guess about maybe 5,000 or so. this isn't an insult...just reality. There are certainly more than 476 students who went home for the weekend and or had better things to do with their time other than attend a football game....like studying perhaps?
nevermind the morelli fumble returned for a td, missed field goals, long psu run nullified due to a bogus block in the back call (all three broadcasters said it was an incorrect call), a couple of dropped would be int's by psu's defense, psu could have easily won that game.
