i worked as banquet server and I accidently spilled gravy on some guy's jacket. I only was only 16 and it was my first day on the job. It was a very small stain that could have been removed with some spray and wash and the hotel already said they would take care of the cleaning bill but he was still not satisfied he kept yelling at me and the hotel manager demanding we buy him a new suit. i told him we couldnt buy him a new suit because wal mart was closed. that;s when he lunged at me. lol.

I eat out at least two or three times a week and I see this happen at least two or three times a year.
The thing people don't realize is that one obnoxious customer can put a waiter/waitress in a shitty mood for the remainder of his/her shift and ruin it for the rest of us. If you don't speak up when one of these schmucks appears, things go downhill very quickly. OTOH, if you make them uncomfortable enough to leave, everybody ends up better off for it.
I once buried a booger under ice when i refilled a rude patrons drink when I was in high school. I didn't want it to float to the top since it had some mucus on it. Then I sat there and smiled. Didn't get a tip but guess what? That guy really made me smile that night.

When I asked her why she was being rude she said I'm not. Then my 8yr old daughter hears her telling another waitress I was being a b***h and got all up in her face. Well, I got all up in her face when my daughter repeated those words. She never came near our table again and the waitress that did and busboy were very polite. I handed her the tip directly and told her the first waitress was to receive none of it. I sent the manager an e-mail when I got home a formal complaint.

I've worked in many different resturants and they seem to always be run by perverted men who hire hot waitresses and let them do what they want, they even enourage it, like they think it's "cute." However we once had a waitress who was so horrible to my son because he asked her if she could please bring ketchup when she had a minute(we were her only table). She slammed it down beside him. She later asked if anyone needed their drinks refilled we all said no thank you except my son who said nothing. She glared at him and said so is that a NO? My son said yes and asked me if he could leave.
When Richard stood up to the 'awful customer,' it literally brought tears to my eyes. I work in customer service (whole foods) and I cannot tell you how many times I've been cussed out, yelled at, belittled, insulted, argued with, and demised by rude customers, and other customers do nothing. If you see someone being abused in the field of customer service, stand up to the abuser. Please!
I liked this experiment! I hardly eat out cause I hate not knowing whose cooking my food or how the kitchen looks but when I do go out I'm extremely kind to my waiters. When it comes to my food I don't mess around, lol But I do ask for a cup of hot water so I can sterilize the silverware :)
If you treat your servers like crap, stuff will happen to your food. It could be as small as getting smaller portions to something as big as bodily fluids or even having your food thrown on the floor. When I am at work, if someone orders a chicken sandwich or chicken strips and they were being a jerk, I would give them the smallest portion (within reason). If you came back with a mistake to your order, but don't act like a jerk, I would give extra portions of food. That's karma for you.
I don't understand the sort of superiority customers feel towards otheres just because they think that workers HAVE to treat them nicely, like they are entitled to it. It's arrogant :P I'm personally am always grateful when I come across such nice waiters/waitresses and I always leave a tip.

One night I had a customer who was disgustingly rude to me, asking me if I would give him a blow job as a tip, etc. I dumped his margarita in his lap and walked away after an hour of this. His brother felt so bad, he tipped me $20 and apologized. Vindication and a nice tip...it was a great night :)

I eat out at least two or three times a week and I see this happen at least two or three times a year.
The thing people don't realize is that one obnoxious customer can put a waiter/waitress in a shitty mood for the remainder of his/her shift and ruin it for the rest of us. If you don't speak up when one of these schmucks appears, things go downhill very quickly. OTOH, if you make them uncomfortable enough to leave, everybody ends up better off for it.

When I asked her why she was being rude she said I'm not. Then my 8yr old daughter hears her telling another waitress I was being a b***h and got all up in her face. Well, I got all up in her face when my daughter repeated those words. She never came near our table again and the waitress that did and busboy were very polite. I handed her the tip directly and told her the first waitress was to receive none of it. I sent the manager an e-mail when I got home a formal complaint.

I've worked in many different resturants and they seem to always be run by perverted men who hire hot waitresses and let them do what they want, they even enourage it, like they think it's "cute." However we once had a waitress who was so horrible to my son because he asked her if she could please bring ketchup when she had a minute(we were her only table). She slammed it down beside him. She later asked if anyone needed their drinks refilled we all said no thank you except my son who said nothing. She glared at him and said so is that a NO? My son said yes and asked me if he could leave.

I liked this experiment! I hardly eat out cause I hate not knowing whose cooking my food or how the kitchen looks but when I do go out I'm extremely kind to my waiters. When it comes to my food I don't mess around, lol But I do ask for a cup of hot water so I can sterilize the silverware :)

If you treat your servers like crap, stuff will happen to your food. It could be as small as getting smaller portions to something as big as bodily fluids or even having your food thrown on the floor. When I am at work, if someone orders a chicken sandwich or chicken strips and they were being a jerk, I would give them the smallest portion (within reason). If you came back with a mistake to your order, but don't act like a jerk, I would give extra portions of food. That's karma for you.
