  • what line are u useing

  • @1998keiran A whole heap of different ones in the video. Mostly I like Scientific Anglers though, but I find the Rio lines good too. It depends upon the style of fishing, but for most of my fishing the line has to be able to present accurately and delicately ... I'm not so keen on lines that simply power the fly out there, but then don't present well.

  • great video

  • one day i will go to New Zeland, get a guide and fly fish,

  • yup the one that kissed the fish is an aussie alright ; )

    Great vid!

  • Where about's in New Zealand? South Island? I am going there next week and hoping to get a fish in, also I will be spinning with thredlines and light gear. Would you happen to no any wild trout spots near Dunedin? Nice video.

  • These fish were from the other end of the Sth Island from Dunedin. There is a heap of good fishing for wild browns to be had in the Otago and Southland areas near Dunedin ... dozens of rivers in fact. Two of the most famous rivers down that way are the Matuara and the Oreti. Hope you have a good trip.

  • Great video mates.

  • Thanks.

  • I'd love the river. where is it? There is very little water here in Southern Arizona.

  • Sorry, but thought I had posted a reply yesterday ... must have stuffed it up!

The video features fishing on 5 different rivers. We are very lucky to have many rivers in the top of the South Island all holding good trout, some accessible right off the road and others requiring hike-in or helicopter access. Trying to fish them all is a lot of fun!

  • Many thanks for posting your rivers. I recenlty spoke to a friend that fished a lake in New Zealand. I can't remember the name. He can't wait to return to do it all over again. I've always wanted to fish New Zealand. Best Regards.

  • You'll love it. Don't leave it too long. Cheers

  • The older I get, the more I think about trout fishing.
