  • Woohoo! If I'm right, that's 56.1 mph!!! Has anyone gone faster than that under sail power?

  • Rockets!!! Yeah! Love it!

  • THANK YOU for introducing me to meatloaf.

    Great music taste!

  • i'm 16 and i hit 41.3 knots on a gaastra gtx race 6.5, and a tabou manta

and i thought i was going fast.. :(

  • My bet is on Tarifa or Zahara de los Atunes.

  • Paradise by the Dashboard Light - Meatloaf!

  • Is there no rules about the depth of the water? Surely in shallow water you have an unfair advantage due to ground effect + lack of chop?

  • There are no depth rules it's really all fair game. Dig a trench for sailboards or find shallow sandy water for the kites. Just as long as there isn't any ground contact(water on top of ice, ect). If you want an outright record then solid ground is the most consistent surface.

  • Who knows name of song ?

  • Ha haha Hhaa ...I opened my mouth to quickly. During Luderitz speed trials October 3-4 on Walvis Bay, Namibia were several 50Kn+ kiteboard speeds attainted...notably Alexandre Caizergues at 50.57 knots over 500 meters during abnormally powerful onshore winds. Intstantaneous speeds reached 58 knots. Amazing.

Time for me to shut my mouth.

  • *all the videos have been stolen* hahaha you rock man good one

  • if they were "stolen" why do the owners still have them??

  • haha. too bad kiters got it first. we've broken 50 before anyone else :D

  • I think the yachters are just mad that their million dollar yachts and big crews got beat by 1 guy with about 2 grand worth of gear.

  • Sid...I doubt it....and I seriously doubt you have any proof of this.

  • uh? the fact that the governing body of sailing tried to say that kiteboarding wasn't sailing? Using the wind=sailing.

They are probably upset after spending millions of dollars and waiting for 50 knots to be broken by some rich yachtsman..

and some surfer's turned kiters come along and break it with 2 grand worth of equipment. sorry folks. there's your proof right there.

  • SPEED IS LIVE!!!

  • heehe thats faster than my freinds' motor boat

i can wait to rub that in his face

  • Antoine Albeau reached 49.09 knots on March 5th 2008 on the Saintes Maries de la Mer canal.

  • Don't forget the Maguire Innovation

  • yeah

  • gz man ...

  • that board looked about a foot wide and a 15 meter sail in about 40 knots!

  • no motors there.

  • oooching ?
