  • "fitness is training of the heart and not the muscle" What if you could do both? Who says you can't get stronger and train your heart? My point is that those traditional definitions of being 'fit' are obsolete, thanks to Crossfit.

  • Also, 'fitness' is training of the heart and not the muscle (as in weight training to increase muscle mass). When you are 'fit' that means your heart is fit and pumps oxygenated blood nice and efficiently. Thats what 'being fit' actually means. These people are not in the 'fit' class. They might be fit of course but they are in the 'body building' class because they are building their bodies. Hence the title and channel 'CrossFit' is inappropriate in my opinion.

  • @tommydamani So you honestly believe that athletes who use crossfit aren't improving their cardiovascular endurance?

  • @tzaunie I didn't recall saying that? Do you?

  • @tommydamani You said, "... 'fit' that means your heart is fit and pumps oxygenated blood nice and efficiently... These people are not in the 'fit' class." In other words they don't have endurance.

  • @tzaunie In other words you're an idiot and trying to put words in my mouth. I don't have time for people like you. bye bye

  • @tommydamani There we go, I was waiting or the name calling...It's ok, None of our comments on youtube mean anything anyhow.

  • shes hot

  • These woman are not in the 'fit' class they are in the 'body building' class there is a MASSIVE line between being fit and being a body builder and i don't see how some people are so blind to it

  • @tommydamani These women? These women aren't trying to "build" their bodies but that what happens when you lift heavy. What is your definition of being "fit" or is there a "fit" body type?

  • @tzaunie I didn't say anyone was trying to do anything. Lifting heavy = build your body. Training for fitness means cardio and light weight. NOT heavy weight. As i stated earlier, these women are in the 'body building' class not 'fit' class.. they can't even close their freaking legs lol

  • @tommydamani I see. So are you saying that athletes who are using crossfit aren't building their endurance?

  • @tzaunie I didn't recall saying this either.. You seeing things?

  • @tommydamani I am "seeing" your words. Unless you don't think being "cardiovascularly" fit means you have endurance...

  • If I do front squats in my workout then I do front squats in my metcon. It works for me and I know Mikko Salo does it so...

  • @morselax012 well if Mikko does it...

  • yaaayy! pukesville here I come tommorow

  • Not only is Miranda a great commentator, she's also an outstanding crossfitter!

  • I have a question for miranda (if she'll ever see this i do not know) But I was wondering if the ever does any islolating, strength, dumbell exercises? Or if her shape is from doing crossfit moves alone? Because i wonder if I'm waisting my time thinking I have to do a bit of everything, or if I can get results similar to hers buy doing only crossfit. Thanks! :) <3

  • @Jeniferw1n Now when you say "crossfit" do you mean doing "metcons" such as this that makes up a part (although significant part) of the crossfit program? Anyway, she got her physique by implementing the strength workouts too. If you take a look at the main site, you'll notice that a week of crossfit includes 3-4 days of metcons, 1-2 strength days (which are basically workouts from the page of the westside barbell conjugate method), and 2 days of rest.

  • @tzaunie ohhh, I didn't realize they did strength workouts as well, I only have seen the 'metcons' as you called it posted on the videos here. Thanks so muchfor the info. :D I'll have to check out there website :)

  • @Jeniferw1n I suppose you can incorporate days where you do bodybuilding style workouts, as one well-known crossfiter is doing (Chris Spealler). But i'd keep these on separate days from "metcons".

  • @tzaunie btw, it would be advisable if your "metcons" used other muscles that weren't taxed by your strength workouts and vice versa.

  • @Jeniferw1n if you want to look like miranda, you're going to want mirandas parents. your body may respond completely different to crossfit to the way hers does. you cannot change your muscles "shape" through training. you either lose bodyfat or gain bodyfat, or lose muscle or grow muscle, your shape is determined by your DNA.

  • @ArCxlioN I didn't mean looking 'just like her'.. I just wondered if the metcons alone buils the shape and definintion, or if they do targeted strength training as well :) Thanks

  • @ArCxlioN You can always incorporate bodybuilding workouts. I know that's frowned upon among crossfiters but this is what Chris Spealler is incorporating to gain weight in order to gain strength, or at least that's what was said in the last crossfit journal article about him.

  • man oh man, i gotta start dating crossfit chicks, they must ride like godesses
